{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD--WORRY

Have you ever wondered what worry really is? Some define it as anxiousness, or fear that sits in your head and festers. Worry represents a process in which the individual continues to live in the past or tries to live in the future.

Matthew 6:25-34 says:
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

If Jesus said that we cannot ADD not one single hour to our lives by worrying then why do you and I waste so many hours in a fretful state of anxiety? I can remember my granny would say, "I know the Lord tells us not to worry but that is much easier said than done!"

I would be telling a big fat lie if I said I never worry. Sometimes I think I don't worry but then deep inside in the pit of my stomach I can feel that anxiety creeping up to my throat and then to my head. You know the feeling I am talking about don't you?
It is at those times that I have to get a grip and say,
"Lord, You are the one who created my life and You can be trusted with the details of my life.
 I have to admit to Him that my faith is lacking and ask Him to help me to have the faith of a mustard seed.
I have to make every effort to keep my eyes focused on HIM and not the problem or the issue at hand.
I have to remember that my HOPE is in HIM and in HIM alone.

May we commit these versus to our life daily:
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

May we be reminded of HOW GREAT HE IS!

Hugs and blessings,
Cindy

  2. Hi Cindy! Oh, I needed this so much this morning. My little 90 year old mother is going through a hard time at the moment. She's in a rehab to get her strength back and she has always been so sharp mentally and she was evaluated yesterday and mentally she was a 5! The best being a 15. So, my husband and I have been so concerned, worried, as to what our next step should be. I've been praying my heart out for God to heal her mind so she can go back to her retirement home. Then, what if she's going to stay this way! I'm so torn! I certainly know Who to lean on and I've been bending God's ear now for days. I guess I'm feeling guilty too as she was doing just fine when we left on our trip and we came back and she was a mess. Cindy, I would appreciate your prayers. I don't have any brothers or sisters so all of this is up to my husband and I. I know God will work it all out - He always does - but being in the sinking middle is a hard place to be.
    Thank you for your encouraging post.
    You are the sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  4. I have a friend who sent me a card of encouragement once that had a couple of mustard seeds taped to the inside of the card to illustrate the point of how small the mustard seed really is...that I only needed that little bit of faith. My default is worry...as if I could add one minute to my life by doing that. Thanks for the encouragement....a word we all need to remember

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy
