{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

Talk To Me Thursday

Well I thought for today I would answer some questions that are asked of me from time to time...mainly from my blogging friends.
Here was my questions and here are my answers:

Where do I store my thrift store/yard sale goodies and especially my dishes? I have a shed outside my home that stores the majority of my treasures and may I say...it is moaning and groaning at times! You can walk in it now...but you gotta be careful! LOL! Also a spare closet holds a few things. Well, a few spare closets---hee-hee.

 (Just one set of dishes) I am not showing you the rest because if you don't like this stuff you will call me a hoarder and if you do like it you might try to get it! LOL!

Who was my inspiration for doing Tablescapes? That was an easy question...Susan from http://betweennapsontheporch.net/
If you can't get inspired by her tablescapes then you just don't LIKE TO DO THEM!

Have you always liked to go to yard sales and thrift stores? NO!  But I would go with my motherinlove from time to time and the next thing I knew it just sorta grew on me! I actually found that another person's junk sometimes was my treasure! I take it by spells...I will go back to back to yard sales and thrift stores and then I may not go at all for months. But when I go.....I come home with something!!!! Mostly dishes.

Where did your love for being creative in various areas come from? Now that is an easy question. It came from my grandmother. She was a "Jack of all trades" and she mastered it all! I'd never seen anything that she couldn't do. She would always say, "Nothing beats a try but a failure....and if you fail, try again! She enjoyed doing it all...baking, cooking, decorating cakes, sewing, floral, decorating, painting, crafts and well, you name it and she done it. I never did learn how to master her imitation of baking biscuits though. Praise the Lord for Mary B's! I wish that I had just a 1/4 of her creativity. She truly inspired me to try!

What inspired you to teach a ladies Bible study class?
Well for me it wasn't what inspired me but WHO inspired me. God called me to teach women there is no doubt in my mind. However, I was strongly encouraged by a former Pastor, Tim Patterson, Bible Study teachers, Donna Monds and Dayle Milton and my best friend since Elementary school, Janice Clark. These people saw a gift in me that I could not see in myself and pushed me forward with God's love. Though I've had many encouragers over the years I must say that my daughters has been my biggest encourager to keep on keeping on. I've been leading women for 17 years now and I never cease to be amazed at how God has time and time again confirmed the call He has placed on my life. An old sinner saved by grace just willing to be a vessel for Him.

What do you like to do in your spare time? Well, I have to say that I laughed at this one out loud. Not much spare time it seems but it is simply the season of life that I am in right now. However, I enjoy just the simplicity of life...reading, writing, deer hunting with my husband, fishing in my fishing pond, sitting on my front porch and drinking coffee, or out by the barn watching my man piddle as he calls it and talking about life....grilling out and YEP...love frying something in my granny's old iron skillet frying pan!

How did you get into photography? I've had a love for photography since I was a child. I've always had a camera of some kind. When I actually done photography as a small business on the side my motto was "A Picture paints a thousand Words". I still believe that. The stories a picture can tell....I remember saying once that if nothing else comes out of my photography but capturing memories of my children and grandbabies then I am good with that. I struggled with giving it up as business but it truly winded up being the best thing for me.

 What are some words of wisdom that you share with others? I had to think about this one too because when you can start sharing words of wisdom it must mean you are old! LOL! Actually, Experience is the best Words of Wisdom....

1: If we do what is right then God will take care of what is wrong...No matter if it's people or things. He has proved this to me time and time again if I am faithful to Him.

2: Be yourself and don't try to be someone you're not. God created you to be YOU! And....there is no one else like you in the world.

3:  Quit worrying so much about what others think. If that person is not walking in your shoes then they have no clue about your life. Even Jesus could not please everyone, not even His own family and my friend you will not either. It's called LIFE!

4: Don't use your past as your excuse for not going forward in life. Take responsibility for yourself and quit blaming others.

5: Say I love you! YES, actions does speak louder than words but.........those 3 little words sure do go a long way. You may not be here tomorrow to tell someone that you love them.

6: Learn to Forgive. In all honestly when we don't forgive others it simply means that they control our life. And....the forgiving part may not be for them....but for
you...

Hope you have enjoyed "Talk To Me Thursday".

Have a great day.

  13. Hi Cindy - great to finally have some time to catch up and so glad I dropped by when you're scooping out wisdom and info with a shovel! Loved scrolling through these past few posts and learning more about you and your super size generous heart and passion for our Lord. What a beautiful family you have - and I just love your little tid-bit on your photography biz. Yes - as artists we invest so much into our work and struggle making the tangible return. But - the joy in our hearts to function within our calling . . . priceless!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
