{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

Wednesday in the Word-How do you know that Jesus can save?

Have you ever had someone ask you "How do you know that Jesus can save you?".

Years ago at a revival I was one of the many people that was willing to council with those making spiritual decisions. I will never forget a young woman that winded up in my group that asked me that question.

At this point of my life I was growing and maturing in the Lord but scared spitless (is that even a word) that someone would ask me something theological and so over my head that I could not answer. However, with my ignorance and all that went with that when the call for spiritual councilors came I was signing up...that was something I could do...TALK! Of course we met before hand to go over the scriptures that we should use and dotted our I's and crossed our T's. I was ready! Had my act together and notes in Bible ready.

I don't remember the young woman's name though I can still see her face and I can still remember what I said though it just recently came back into memory for me and for a reason.... Another share on another day)The Lord always has a plan doesn't He?

I think at that point of her question I was suppose to actually quote John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believed in Him would be saved and have everlasting life.

Or the ABC's of Salvation...you know...

A. Admit you are a sinner.
"There is no one righteous, not even one ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Romans 3:10,23. (See Romans 5:8; 6:23.)

Ask God's forgiveness.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
Romans 10:13
B. Believe in Jesus
(put your trust in Him) as your only hope of salvation.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 (See John 14:6.)

Become a child of God by receiving Christ.
"To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 (See Revelation 3:20.)
C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord.
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (See verse 10.)

Well, when she asked that question my mind went totally blank...I could not remember my name at that point much less John 3:16. NOTES? I couldn't even find them.

But I remember this....Though I felt so unworthy, so befuddled and so ignorant of the Word I was very humbled at the mere fact that God MIGHT...HE just MIGHT use me someway, somehow. I can remember saying under my breath..."Lord, You need to be speaking through me and do it in a hurry before I look like a fool!

My reply to her question was simple. All I know is that Jesus is the only person that has ever died for me...and if someone loved me enough to die on a cross for me then He can surely SAVE...

When I look back I laugh at myself...it's good when you can laugh at yourself. My lack of knowledge and proper wording and the 15 minutes it would take me at times to find a scripture (You didn't have GOOGLE back then) was a pity! But...I marvel at how God could use a little ole country gal saved from the pits of Hell all because I was WILLING to be used.

Why do we make the gospel so complicated at times? It's actually very simple, so simple that a child can understand.

I did go through the plan of salvation with my group that night but I told it in my words and after the Lord calmed my spirit I was able to FIND and share John 3:16. There was 4 ladies in my group that night...two teenage girls and two young adult women. Three of the four accepted Christ. To this day I cannot remember their names but Jesus knows their names and that is all that matters.

God's Word will never return void...and all He wants from us my friends is a willing heart. HE WILL DO THE REST!

And.... if we are a FOOL for Jesus then so be it! I'd rather be a FOOL for Christ than a have a PHD, PAD, MED, or whatever all those D's are on my wall and not Know HIM!

 The only plaque I have has the initial C. It could stand for Cindy or it could stand for Conner but in my heart it stands for Christ!

May you rest in Christ....knowing that He truly is the ONLY person that has ever died for you...rose from the grave and then went to heaven to sit on the right hand of His Father.

It's the simple things in life that bring the greatest pleasures!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
