{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Fall Tablescape}

Oh I do love the colors of Fall.

My beautiful glass pumpkin took center stage on my dining table.

I've had my gold wired box for years and decided my glass pumpkin would fit nicely in it. I made a little Fall spray to fit on the top and flow down the side. Added a small pumpkin with some ribbon and I am pleased.

 The napkins I made a couple of years ago along with a runner to match but decided not to use the runner this year. Instead I had bought some curtains from a yard sale last year and decided to cut one of the curtains and make a runner to match. The gold flat wear was gifted to me by my long time, life time friend Janice.

 I added some flowers to the tops of my little pumpkins and placed one on each plate. I love my new chargers this year.

 You just can't beat goblets in any color can you?

 Purchased two new candles along with the candle holders this year and they added to my table nicely.

 The cute salt and pepper shakers I found at Ross.

 Yep, I love my Fall tablescape.

 An old wooden cake stand I found many years ago at a yard sale was perfect to hold my coffee condiments and teas.

I found some new teas this year too. Thanksgiving, pumpkin, apple and well...I've tried them all already and oh so good!

  I'm ready for a another cup of coffee matter of fact.

A little corner in my kitchen needed a little Fall going on. I've had the plate and pumpkin for years but found the cute acorn tea pot last year at a Thrift store. I just love it!

Pumpkin canister holds my favorite kitchen utensils.

And of course I needed something Fallish to store sweet cakes, cookies and candy for my grandbabies. I have this gorgeous set of canisters that I had bought for my motherinlove years ago. When she went home to be with the Lord they came back to me. I love them.

Old Henry here has been with me for years. Henry has been everywhere in my house that you can imagine and on my front porch at times.  When you plug him in he lights up and glows. My grandbabies love him.

 The orange vase belonged to my grandmother and it is brought out each year for Fall.

Henry decided he wanted to be next to granny's vase this year so now he's in my kitchen.

 This stand has been used for everything you can imagine. It sits in my kitchen now and speaks of Fall. Of course I just to add my wire tea pot this year.

I didn't want to take everything off of my Baker's Rack this Fall so decided to add a few Fall touches.

Every dish on my Baker's rack belonged to my granny and my motherinlove. YEP...I just love dishes!

The recipe was handwritten by my motherinlove and I have used her recipe for years now for my dressing. I know it by heart and I have made it so many times. The eye glasses, once called spectacles, belonged to my great-grandmother Dollie Lee.

My daughter Kristy gave me my baker's rack several years ago and it holds so many things that are dear to my heart.

 I LOVE my new Welcome sign!

And this is what Thanksgiving is all about....GIVING THANKS! My daughter Melissa gave this to me last year and it is a perfect reminder to be mindful to Give Thanks to our Lord...He is worthy of our praise, our gratefulness and our dedication to Him.

I wish that you all could come and sit at my lovely table and share a meal with me or maybe have a cup of Thanksgiving Tea. I'll even make some shortbread wedges that you would love topped with some whipped cream and a strawberry!

Thanks for letting me share my Fall kitchen with you today. Now let me start making my list for our Thanksgiving food menu........It's only a few short weeks away!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. What a lovely, elegant table! You have selected everything with care and attention to detail. I adore your combining the blue with orange...scrumptious color pairing and not the usual. You are blessed to have the warm memories of family and you mother-in-law. I know it must be very special for your husband to eat foods once prepared by his mama.

  6. Hello My Lovely Friend,
    Greetings to you this early evening in Fall. Thank you for inviting us into your warm, inviting and cozy home all dressed for Fall.
    Your kitchen and tablescape are as pretty as they can be.
    This is such a decorative and pretty vase of your Granny's and I love that you have held onto the treasures of the past and welcomed them into the present.
    I do the same thing, in fact this very minute I am looking at a pumpkin bread recipe that was my Mother's. Just reading her little notes along the side of the recipe warm my heart.
    Blessings to you and yours,

    1. Thanks Jemma. I too love that Vase. Speaking of recipes, I have laughed at some of the recipes from my granny. Apparently while writing a recipe down sometimes she also used that piece of paper to write herself a note on...to do list! LOL!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
