{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Pressing, Progress and Pooped}

It seems the weekend's go by so quickly to me but at least another (somewhat productive weekend) happened in my little room!

I told you last week that I had bought curtains and forgot to show you. They are a light gray with off white decor. Kinda sheer but not to sheer. I also have blinds up.

One of my windows is partially behind my new desk so I knew they would not be seen hanging to the floor from that particular view so I decided to cut them off to another length so to the sewing machine they went.

Of course I now have enough of the curtain's left to do several different things. But, I decided I needed to dress up a little basket that I had spray painted red for my office so a piece of the curtain would work great.

 Nothing like those cute little yo-yos. I needed just a little something for the middle of the yo-yo.

I brought out a little of my stash and....

I love how the sweet old basket turned out.

I have quite a bit of left over curtains to do some cute things with maybe. I am not quite through with my curtains but will show you the finished product soon.

I have started to work on items to store in my chest of drawers for the room and I'm very excited about having the extra storage. I decided to store my napkins that I use with tablescapes in one of the drawers. I can't store them all but the ones I use the most will go in one drawer and the rest will go in the linen closet. I've got them packed in there like a can of sardines.

NOPE, I didn't iron them! I do that when I set a tablescape.

I think I will also use the drawers for napkin rings, place card holders and etc.              (That's next on my list)

I done a little organizing in my closet. I love to use baskets, containers, and even old canisters that I may find at yard sales to store things in. Do you see the LIPSTICK sign to the right?

 TRUST ME! After I threw away four HUGE black yard/trash bags of things, I needed some lipstick! I am a pack-rat and I don't like throwing away things because I might NEED them! And, my man's motto is that if it hasn't been used in a year or ate in a week TOSS IT! YEP, now you know why I hide dishes under the bed. Hee-hee.....

And of course I caught two of my daughter's already snooping for ribbon!

Hope to finish up that closet soon. The good thing is that the closet has a door so I can shut it and no one will see my mess. BUT my mess is now being organized so I might just open the closet door! LOL!

YEP, all that work made me hungry! I prefer to have something around 10ish in the mornings and I decided to make myself a little omelet, add another cup of coffee to my day and have a coffee break with God time.

It just so happen that the devotional I was reading started out with this scripture. "The joy of the Lord is your strength". Nehemiah 8:10. BOY, did I ever need His strength to tackle that room!

But I am Pressing on with my room and making Progress despite the fact that I am Pooped

Finished up the weekend with these sweet kiddos.

Everyone stops to talk to the baby and that sweet gal on the right stops to talk to everybody!

My grandgirl that plays ball has quite a fan club needless to say. Always a joy to watch her.

I do hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. Mine was perfect. My girls gave me a beach chair,  or as my man said when my daughter's brought it out of hiding, "Dang, we won't never get you out of that cot chair! Beach bag, beach cup and my favorite...Bath and Body. I loved it all.

How can you not love a chair with a head rest, lumbar pillow with deluxe padding? And...the girls pointed out that I have a place to put my cell phone along with my LIPSTICK! My kind of chair!

YEP....it will be put to good use for sure...and not just at the beach! (Now I've got to hide it to keep my daughter's from wanting it borrow it)
I think it's big enough that I can hold all five of my grands too in the chair, don't you?

Last but certainly not least my granddaughter Kyleigh celebrated her 6th birthday. She had to have her own photo shoot too you know.

She is my "sweet and sassy" gal.

 She never meets a stranger...which of course she knows all about stranger-danger but needless to say she will talk to anyone that will stand still for one minute!

She is so little for her age that most often you will see someone younger than her toting her on a Wednesday night at church. Mercy, what a life!

She says the funniest things and I don't think she even means for it to be funny!

And is as honest as the day is long...YIKES! Sometimes that good and sometimes it's not. LOL!

Of course after the photo shoot, we had to get nails and toe's done and she wanted to dress like a princess.

Nothing like the grands...Just melts a Nana's heart.

 FAMILY...The best thing to hold onto is each other. They will be the best life jacket you will ever own!

Have a great day my friends.........

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    Your Mother's Day sounded nice. It's always great to be with your kids. We saw both of ours recently so didn't see them for Mother's Day but phone calls and cards and gifts in the mail were nice.
    Glad your room is coming along. I need to organize because I have too many "places" to loss things. Don't work too hard and have a great week.

  11. I absolutely love the curtain fabric! And the yoyo you made from it for the red basket just makes it. I envy all the organization you are getting done. I guess if I were redoing my "junk" room I would be motivated. I can only do a little at a time though and that is so discouraging! LOVE your new chair. I bought myself a similar one for after my last hip surgery. Sure makes you feel like a queen and I can fit one grandchild in there with me. Speaking of grands, yours are adorable!! I have one coming up on 6 and she is such a girly girl. She likes to talk, talk, talk too! This was a fun time visiting you. You look great in all the pictures!

  17. What a happy, uplifting post! Dear friend, you will NEVER know what your kind words left on my blog meant to me! The dear Lord brought them back to me tonight, as I was going through SO much. I have never, ever thought of the fact that the dear Lord may be feeling so distant from me because He cannot stand to see the suffering. Oh, my, this just comforted me more than I could ever say. I had read your comment earlier, and then the Lord brought it back to me later, and it must meant so much! I am so thankful for you and your encouragement. May God just bless you abundantly!

Looks like you had a great Mother's Day. Ours was different this year without my mom here. We were on the east end of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon so we drove a ways to the Navajo Reservation where we found a tiny church. We worshiped with the dear folks there - even sang in Navajo with them! - and found that we were right at home as we spent time with them. We want to go back again some time. Maybe on Mother's Day again some time.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
