I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

We are truly praising the Lord for His hedge of protection over our family and friends in my county and neighboring areas. So many are still without power. My oldest daughter's home had two trees fall on the roof of her home and one tree fell on their shed. No one was hurt thankfully. 97% of our county was without power. We do not realize what we have until we no longer have it do we? After the storm was over and power finally regained, I sat there thinking of how very spoiled I am. My heart hurts for those that have lost their homes in this storm. Many are still without power. The hit that our county took from Irma does not even begin to compare to the hit that Miami took. Our prayers are with so many.
We all need a little humor and these two girls brought it with this cute picture my daughter Melissa snapped. As they were preparing for the hurricane the girls decided to put their life jackets on just in case.
Once power was regained and all was well with my family, my husband and I headed out to do a little bow hunting. Nothing like getting away for a few days to help relieve a little stress.
And what the bow hunting didn't relieve a little shopping did! LOL! Aren't these shoes just the cutest?
I was reminded that no matter what kind of storm we may be in the midst of that God's Glory will shine above all.
I was also reminded that my life is only a midst, a vapor....

Oh that potty! You really do need that when you are out in the woods hunting...LOL! So glad to hear that your power has been restored and that everyone is safe in your family. ReplyDeleteThanks Kitty. We had all intentions of getting away for a few days the weekend before the storm. At the time we made plans it only looked like heavy rain and some wind. Well needless to say it didn't take long for us to realize we did not need to go anywhere and to stay off the roads. So glad we did but sure was glad to have a few days after the stress to get away. Thanks for your prayers.
DeleteI'm so glad you and your family are safe. We never know how He has protected us until the storm passes by and we see the blessings we still have! The potty is something I'm very familiar with. Not something we talk about much but many of us girls who camp with vintage trailers that don't have a bathroom are very well acquainted with this! There are liners and things to put inside that make it more pleasant. Love the new shoes and a few days away were very good for you and your hubby.

Adrienne, I can remember when my great grandmother had a potty in her bedroom. I remember sleeping in her room one night with her and she told me if I had to get up to go to the bathroom to just use her potty! LOL! So funny because I can remember thinking that would be the neatest thing ever to get to do! Yep, I thought the shoes adorable too. Glad you stopped by.

DeleteSo glad you survived Irma. We did also. What part of Florida do you live in? We are in the north-central part, northeast of Ocala in the Ocala National Forest. We had lots tree damage in the area, but nothing terrible in our yard, thank the Lord. Just no power for several days, but we survived. God is so good. Praying for those who still are w/o power and have so many repairs to make to their homes before they can even return.

DeleteCindy, we just got power back on Friday. Yard was a wreck from limbs but thankful that was all we endured. It is indeed these basic life luxuries that wind up meaning so very much. Glad all is well with you and family too. Praying for those enduring so much more than us. The pictures are too cute especially of the girls with life vest on. I wish I could wear shoes like that. So cute. I would kill myself trying to walk in them. Glad you got to do a little bow hunting. I bet you had on your lipstick! LOL!

God sure had His hand of protection around us as so many of our friends lost absolutely everything they had. I have to admit I do not miss hurricane season at all! Take care.

ReplyDeleteOh, sweet friend! I didn't realize you live in FL and were in danger of the hurricane! I am so sorry for all you have been through! My dear sister lives in Naples, and her house was a direct hit. She is still without power, and her house is just in shambles. SO much pain and heartache and sadness in our nation from Harvey and Irma and so many other issues. How we need God in these troubled times! So thankful you are doing as well as you are and trusting God to see everyone through. The aftermath is sometimes just as devastating as the storm. God bless you, Cindy!
