{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

Wednesday In the WORD

I hope you will join me today for a little taste in the WORD of God....

I'm currently teaching in Ladies Bible Study "Your Strong Suit" by Donna Pyle.  A verse by verse study on the Armor of God. This study is to expose Satan for who is and show us the provision and protection that God has for His children. WOW...is all I can say right now. We are only into our 4th week of study and not only have I been enlightened but amazed at how God has ordained this particular study for this time of my life and the lives of many of our ladies! I believe that God is going to do amazing things through this study.

 Today I would like to share just a little with you if I may.

From Donna's book she said, "You and I are engaged in spiritual warfare against an unseen enemy, wearing unseen armor, in a culture that doesn't even acknowledge the raging battle".

That statement stood out to me for several reasons but the word "acknowledge" really took on a new meaning for me. If we don't acknowledge something then we are not prepared to deal with it. I have to think in terms of everyday life and compare the things I learn in Bible Study to my every day life. As I was thinking about this I thought about us as women out shopping alone and how we must be very careful of our surroundings. Recently, before our local Food Lion closed I had went to the grocery store. I had been to a class that didn't end till 8 p.m. so it was dark and rather late for me to be shopping through the week. When I came out of the store of course it was dark, the parking lot had very few cars in it and I seemed to be the only one standing there with a buggy headed out. I almost stepped out into the lane to head to my car when I noticed another vehicle parked facing my vehicle with what looked to be two men in the car. Being a woman alone in a semi-dark parking lot with very cars immediately sent off a red flag for me. I took my cell phone out of my purse and had it in my hand just in case I needed it and proceeded to go to my car. As I got closer to my car I decided to act as though I was talking on my phone...Somehow I found protection in doing that. I loaded my groceries in the car and headed home. Now I tell you that story to say this, "I was PREPARED".

But...am I prepared daily for the attacks of Satan? My granny used to say, "Baby, what you don't know can't hurt you! That may be true in a lot of cases but Biblically....what we don't know can harm us greatly even to the point of death.

We live in a dark world and Satan's target is US! However, God has not left us defenseless. He provides us HIS armor and HIS protection!

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the WHOLE armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil". Eph. 6:10-11

I urge you to get into God's Word and learn about His armor that He has for us as believers. Pray and ask God to help you RECOGNIZE Satan's attacks.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  2. We used to sing a song about the Armor of God when I was a little girl and for the life of me I cannot remember the song. But I do remember us pretending to put on the armor. Wow, this post has brought back those memories. This has urged me to get my armor on each morning now! Thanks for this today. Nita B

  4. Great post! I was drawn to the word acknowledge to. What a great point, how can we prepare or why would we prepare if we first don't acknowledge that Satan is trying to kill steal & destroy us, our relationships, our fianances. I'm so glad we serve such a loving and merciful God that does leave us an armor to wear. This reminds me I need to put them on! Thank you for the reminder about the unseen & that I need to get dressed.

  8. Thanks for that powerful reminder Cindy. We often forget to guard ourselves well enough from Satan's attacks. But it's so great that God has given us enough ammunition to stay protected!

  11. Hey Cindy. I haven't read this post yet, I just printed it out to take it to bed with me. I like to read something with some Biblical content when I go to bed so that I can mull it over. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
