{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{Beach Tablescape, Family Fun, and Yard Sale Goodies}

I am still in a "Beach" frame of mind. Before we went on our annual Family Beach Vacation I decided to do a little beach tablescape.  I am so enjoying having that cute chair that holds that little drawer in a corner in my kitchen. Being able to change the decor around some has been fun.  It is hard to read the scripture here but it's Psalm 139:9-10 .  The beautiful picture is one that my youngest daughter took while traveling once. I found the table runner at a yard sale for 50 cents and had it stashed away so grabbed it and that determined my color scheme. Cute little salt and pepper shakers winded up being perfect.  I grabbed my bag of sea shells to use as well. I have several sets of dishes that go well with a Beach theme tablescape but decided my cute little fish dishes would be the ones I used. I even have the child's plates that match these. I actually lucked up one year at the end of summer and found these ...

{Simple Beach Tablescape} and Giveaway!

It's time for a beach tablescape! Well I am going to go ahead and confess that I am more of your mountain kind of gal and in the winter months but there is just something about the beach that calls my name..... I started out with a centerpiece with some mason jars! You just gotta love a mason jar! I actually bought this at AC MOORE and you can use it for so many different things. It came with chalkboard tags to use if you wanted too. Just a few seashells and some flowers and I was good to go.  I love these plates I bought from Walmart. They are so summery looking. Found the cute place mats at the Dollar Tree.  I couldn't believe I found the color of blue I was looking for with the stainless steel flatware at Walgreen's.   And it was on SALE !!!! My kind of purchase! It didn't take me long to come up with a simple tablescape with the pretty blues, greens and yellows. And these goblets will always be my favorite to use. I had to hunt...

{Who wants to go to the BEACH?}

Well, I will be going to the beach with my family in a few weeks and the grandbabies are counting down the days for sure. In the meantime I will just enjoy a simple "Beach" tablescape at home and think about the beach. Aren't these plates from Walmart just adorable? Love the colors.Added my bamboo table runner with bamboo silverware and liked how it looked with the beach theme.  I had a few of those cute little fish bowls I had used for something else so grabbed them up.  I didn't have enough fish net to put on them and my box I used for my centerpiece but some Burlap ribbon saved the day with a few painted seashells left over from our beach trip last year. I also had a couple of nice larger shells from St. Augustine Beach so painted them as well to use. A little colored water and some sea shells and well, it worked for me!  Cute little salt and pepper shakers. I was pleased with my little wooden box I had purchased while in Jesup, Ga. Mo...
