{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

Don't Mess With A NANA!

 You gotta hear my story. I am shopping at a Thrift Store...(go figure that) and I am on a mission. Looking for items I need to decorate with for a Front Porch Lemonade Party I am doing for some young moms in May. But....I just so happen to see this cute little basket purse and decided to check it out. Here is the little basket purse!   As soon as I picked it up I knew something was inside of the little cute little purse. So I proceeded to open it and found this darling little doll inside.   As soon as I saw this cutie I knew my little granddaughter Raygen would love her. I picked her out of the basket purse and realized that her head, her hands and feet were porcelean.   There was no price on this sweet little thing so asked a young man that was working there would he be kind enough to get me a price. (He was a volunteer) He came back and said, "This is one dollar". I noticed that he didn't put the price on it so I asked him would he please put the price on it s

New Curtain Decor

Who said you can't use Christmas decorations for other things besides Christmas? I wanted something different to attach to my curtains beside the regular "just do the tie back thing". So, took a gold cup hook to hook my tieback on and then decided to use Christmas ornaments to decorate with. Bought these after Christmas at Cracker Barrell. The color scheme went perfect with my decor and just made the curtain to me!

Ace Hardware has more than just HARDWARE!

I so love this jar! I found this at Ace Hardware. I could have shopped in there all day! I couldn't believe it! They have so many neat things. There was one whole aisle that had 50% off and I spotted this piece. And of course you know I had to have it. Brought it home, put me some pretty colored pebbles and stones in it to match my bathroom and that is where I have it. Make a trip to Ace on your next shopping spree. You might be surprised. Oh, and if you go on the weekend they have FREE Popcorn! Ha!

Headboard Mirror Makeover

I so wish I had of taken a picture of this mirror before I dolled it up! I bought this from the Goodwill store probably 2 years ago or better. When I saw it laying there I knew I had to have it. This was actually part of a headboard for a bed. Still had the screws, nuts and bolts and a bracket on the back of it when I spotted it. It was filty and well, I loved it! Had no clue what I wanted to do with it and for over 2 years now I have tried to talk hubby into taking it to the hunting camp in case they needed it! I am so glad he didn't! In the midst of remodeling my bedroom that old ugly mirror-part of a headboard came to mind! I got my trusty tool box out and went to work on the back of it removing all the unwanted and unknown pieces. I clean it up and decided against repainting it or staining it. I loved the detail in the wood as it was. Took some Old English and shined it up. Then I knew where I wanted it. Looks perfect sitting on top of my 3-drawer chest and matched! And for the

Chicken Bow Tie Salad

Easy, Quick & Good! 3 Boneless Chicken Breast 1 Can of Small green peas 1 Box of Bow-tie Pasta Mayo EVVO Salt & Pepper Lemon Pepper Italian Seasoning Papirika Dice your chicken up into pieces (cuts much better when partially frozen) Add salt, pepper, lemon pepper and a tad of Italian seasoning to chicken. Sprinkle just enough Extra Virgin Olive Oil onto chicken to coat well. Saute in your frying pan till done. In the mean time make your pasta according to the directions on the box. (*Remember, to keep your pasta from sticking add just a few drops of olive oil and a pinch of salt*) Drain your green peas.  Mix your chicken, pasta and peas together and add mayo to taste. *I use Hellmann's* Yes it is pricey but it is the best mayo out there! Pour in your bowl and top with a little Paprika. The good thing about this dish is it good served warm or cold. The little plastic cutting board was a freebie from Pampered Chef! I love it! It is so good for small jobs.

CONFETTI STRING CAKE

In honor of my sister Mary's birthday which is tomorrow I decided to bake her a cake. I've baked several cakes using pretty ribbon and curling the ribbon to make the "curly ribbon confetti" for the top of the cake. But, I also like the idea of edible curly confetti. So I wanted to you how to achieve that effect. **First of all I AM NOT A CAKE DECORATOR" but I do love playing around with it. First as you will see in the first picture I need to just tell you how much I LOVE my little mixer on the stand that my oldest daughter Kristy gave me! It sure makes things easier. And the 2nd picture showing the Cake Release product I use with all my baking cakes is a MUST HAVE! Girls, you will love this product. It last forever and can be found at Walmart with all the cake pans, cake decorating books and etc. I use a #21 tip....it is actually the tip that you use to make shell borders and etc. I made my buttercream icing to be a little more stiff than normal. My New Love

Liquid Nails! Yep, I can nail all sorts of stuff now! It is waterproof and fast bonding and I love it! You can purchase a small 4 oz. size for small projects and repairs and it will last forever! Well, unless you've got tons of projects and repairs that is! It is my new best friend! Let me show you my latest little project. The items you see are either thrift store or yard sale finds. In picture #1 you see the jar with lid (I love them jars), candlesticks, and of course the ivy bowl. A must have for anything and everything! In picture #2 you see where I used my liquid nails and glued my jar with lid to the candlestick I thought it would look best on. Now I have an apothecary jar! Love it! Took the ivy bowl and glued it to the other candle stick....now, I have another candle holder to hold a bigger candle. Or a floral piece.....or candy.....or whatever I want! (picture #3)The ideas are endless! I just love the simple things in life!

Latest Thrift Store Finds I love!

You can't go wrong with clear glass items when decorating. The thing I love about clear glass is no matter what type of piece it is it will go with any decor. I love these 3 items I found. Now I don't know quite yet where I will use them but I plan to use them by all means. The coffee cup with matching saucer actually has a bottom to it that makes it sit up a little higher though you can't see it in the picture. I love this! I am waiting on a bench that I ordered to come in to go at the foot of my bed and I may have to use this on my tray sitting on the bench. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is really a nice pattern and beautiful cut glass. The decanter is also a favorite. I couldn't pass this up. I have several cut glass decanters and I JUST had to have this one as well. The last piece is what some call a ginger jar. My friend Vicky has a selection of different sizes of these type jars and she used them at Christmas and I loved them. Gave me some good ideas!

My Granny Dish

It is amazing how God sweetly brings back those childhood memories to us and how He does it! Recently, I was on the lookout for this cute little jar with a pretty lid. I knew in my mind what I wanted but hadn't run across the perfect little item I wanted. You know what I mean? You know in your mind sorta what you want but you can't quite put your finger on it till you SEE IT! I wanted to use it in my remodeled bathroom on my shelf. In the midst of shopping for the guest bathroom (we're remodeling now) I spotted this older gentlemen having his own little yard sale out of the back of his truck. He just so happen to be in the same parking lot that I was going to park in. So....I HAD to see what he had on those tables sitting out by his truck!!!! I looked over at one table and saw some neat books, and then on another table what I really do call as JUNK, and then....then....I spotted it! The pretty round dish with the beautiful lid...sitting right there waiting on me to purchase
