{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

{Life of the Retired}

Hope this finds all my blogging friends having a great weekend. Marty and I had a date date yesterday. We love our day dates as we are home before dark! We might be telling our age now.....LOL!  We began our date at a local feed store...how romantic huh? Well, it is when you are getting the ground ready for potato planting. Of course we made a trip to Shooters, a hunter's dream store!  Then we went to Outback, Marty's favorite steak place and back home y'all before dark. A fire in the fireplace was calling my name. I love these kind of day dates. But you know? A friend of mine told me that sometimes it really doesn't matter where you go, that it's all about the change of scenery. While I agree I would add to that... What matters most is who you spend that time with..... I spent some time with this sweet grand this week and she is such a joy. She has the best attitude and sweetest spirit ever. I love her sign! I made a pineapple cake drizzled with confectionary suga

{Retirement has been BUSY}

  Well friends, RETIREMENT hasn't really hit me yet though I did spend a few mornings in front of a nice warm fire drinking coffee and living the retirement life! The weather was perfect and I did enjoy it. However, I decided to do some decluttering beginning with my SHE-SHED! MERCY! I could have owned my own little thrift store I am afraid. I finally began to see a light at the end of the tunnel yesterday. I got rid of TONS!!! It felt so good to purge! Believe me, that is saying a lot for someone that LOVES to save everything. But...I felt it was time to declutter my life. Now onto other projects.  I did take a day off though and I spent the day with my oldest grandchild and granddaughter. I love spending time my grands but rarely do we get to spend time one on one with each other. Each of the six will have their own dates with Nana of their choosing.  Duncan's, Chili's, and Movies was on our list of things to do. We did have just enough time to browse in one store. We had

{I Am Retired Y'all!}

  It sure is a bittersweet time but I am surely looking forward to my adventure with the Lord. I wanted to share a few pictures with my friends. I have received so many phone calls, texts, cards and gifts this week that have just brought tears and joy.  Turning in my office keys of many years was hard! But, Jeremiah 29:11 is surely reminder that God has set the plans for my life and that I will trust.  I only had the blessing of serving alongside Pastor Scott for nearly a year and I pray God's blessings upon him and his family as his journey continues. However, he is a quick learner and learned that I was the BOSS! LOL! The former pastor and his wife that hired me 22 plus years ago even tuned in to the recognition with a video. It melted my heart. I will never forget interviewing with Bro. Edsel in his office and then I was interviewed by the personnel team.  Lastly, Bro. Edsel's wife Judy interviewed me at a luncheon. Bro. Edsel trusted her discernment of me totally. However,

{My Adventures This Week}

  Well since Adventure is my WORD for this year I ventured out over the weekend and bought myself a new hat! I love hats and don't wear them often. Well, except for when I am at the beach. I am always a little self-conscious about wearing a hat because my hair is short and I have such a small head but guess what? I AM VENTURING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE this year! (In different areas of life). Life is too short not to enjoy some fun things even when they may carry you a tad out of your comfort zone. I will be sure to post a picture with my new cute hat especially since I have a new outfit to go with it! LOL!  I am enjoying using my new air fryer. Several of you dear blogging friends sent me a couple of recipes to try and I will be trying them. I decided to make some simple canned biscuit donuts using the air fryer as I had a hankering for something a little sweet.  No fuss, no grease and no failure here! YUM! 4 minutes to preheat and 5 minutes to cook!  Air Fryer Cinnamon Donuts 1

{Happy New Year Everyone...2022}

  Happy New Year to all my blogging friends. What a gift the Lord has given to us to be able to go forward in this thing we call "life" in this New Year. I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year weekend. I spent a couple days with Marty and his dad in those wonderful Georgia pines.  We had a great time. The weather wasn't the best...too hot and too windy but we enjoyed our time.  I did a little clearance Christmas shopping, reading the Word and a whole lot of eating!  Tried my hand with my new air fryer before we left to go hunting and the chicken and potatoes turned out perfect! I think I am really going to like it. I am pinning lots of recipes and hope to try some more out this week.  As most of you my WORD for 2021 was JOY and my scripture was Neh. 8:11. "The joy of the Lord is my strength". When I felt that was the word for me little did I know that I would quickly learn that my true JOY  could come ONLY come from Him. Let's face it! A lot of life
