{I Am Retired Y'all!}

  It sure is a bittersweet time but I am surely looking forward to my adventure with the Lord. I wanted to share a few pictures with my friends. I have received so many phone calls, texts, cards and gifts this week that have just brought tears and joy.  Turning in my office keys of many years was hard! But, Jeremiah 29:11 is surely reminder that God has set the plans for my life and that I will trust.  I only had the blessing of serving alongside Pastor Scott for nearly a year and I pray God's blessings upon him and his family as his journey continues. However, he is a quick learner and learned that I was the BOSS! LOL! The former pastor and his wife that hired me 22 plus years ago even tuned in to the recognition with a video. It melted my heart. I will never forget interviewing with Bro. Edsel in his office and then I was interviewed by the personnel team.  Lastly, Bro. Edsel's wife Judy interviewed me at a luncheon. Bro. Edsel trusted her discernment of me totally. However,

 I am what they call a "Stat" person. I enjoy reading and even at times researching stats on particular subjects. For example: Statistics show that  first marriages end up in divorces in an average duration of just less than 8 years.   Studies show the most common time for a heart attack to occur is Monday morning. Saturday morning ranks second. Another common time is during the early morning hours, when blood platelets are stickier. In 2008 it was listed under  Statistics for the Changing Church that Christians spend seven times as much time on entertainment as they do on spiritual activities."  On August 1, 2011 Health Fitness News stated that 12 states had obesity rates above 30% (4 years prior there was only one)   As much as I enjoy "Stats" you would think I am the MATH queen. Truth is I hate math to be honest. But do you know what else I don't like about numbers?  Is how we as Christians tend to gauge the success of our C

I get to toot today! YEAH! Well I have had a couple of friends asking me about my chandi I bought at a yard sale for $3 and where I decided to put it.  Of course the Lovely Grace from Growing Old with Grace gave me the idea and I feel in love with it.  Here is where I put my chandi. I love it there. And you talk about really being pretty...I put some candles in it one afternoon and just as it was getting dark I lit them and my husband and I enjoyed watching the glow.  (His first thought with the whole idea was, this is silly) that is until we got it in the tree and then he said, "well now ain't that about cute". (LOL)  Here is where I originally got the idea from:   Here is her chandi...   I got my own piece of heaven going on by the pond. Don't you just love my red bird feeder on the red pole? Took a piece of PVC pipe, spray painted it red and used some nail glue to get the little red bird house to stay on t

Monday Musings

 I normally don't blog on Mondays but I came across this article recently while reading some different pieces from the Generous Wife. This one REALLY caught my eye and I decided to share this with you this week. It is well worth the read. Well worth printing it out to read it again and again....... How in the World Do You Make Margin?   ... I am another tired woman, and I suspect so many others are as well, because we are the ones whom our families rely upon to keep everything together and running. We are the ones who get things done. I’m not busy because of selfish pursuits. I’m busy because I have a family to care for and I need HELP doing so, more help than I’m getting. I have been here. Partly because of things that I expected of myself, partly because of what others expected of me, some because I had created a lifestyle that demanded a huge amount of work (more than I cou

Lots of good stuff this week gals! YEP, you guessed it...we will start with a tablescape! I love the simplicity of this tablescape. Love the green and white.  I thought this was cute idea for the teachers to do at their open house. Then maybe each child could take home a pencil and an apple. What an adorable idea using cupcakes for a bridal shower. For those that sew this is a great way to organize your thread.   I may have shared this before but every time I look at I laugh but I totally love it! How about an old door made into a book case? I am going to make me one of  these: Neat way to keep your batter from being messy. I love Fall and this is the cutest idea ever! Oh I just

Satan's lies and God's Truth:  Image Credit We know that Jesus came to give us life and to give it to us abundantly but so many women are living a life of defeat. Whether it be stressed out, lonely, fearful or just plain unloved! I think a lot of times the root of our problem is believing the lies of Satan.  Satan says: You need to fill your calendar and your every waking moment with stuff.....and he will go as far as to help you fill it even with good stuff. So much so that you become stressed to the hilt and can't function! Or you feel that your role as a wife, mom, friend, employee or etc. has just about got the best of you (Stress) Satan says:   Everyone is too busy for you. Your husband works every extra hour he can get just to make ends meet. Your children are so busy with their friends that you are no longer important and your so called church friends really don't want you in their click. (Lonely) Satan says: You are not good enough. You ar
