{Beaching with the Girls}

Good Sunday afternoon everyone. I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday and that tomorrow, July 4th, that you enjoy your red, white and blues. I just returned from from a short getaway to Fernandina Beach with my three daughters and we had such a wonderful time. We had one shower of rain but needless to say, I was a drowned rat! But oh did it ever feel so good and I simply just give praise for the much needed rain and time away with the girls. I for sure got the biggest soaking but then I can't move as fast as my girls! LOL!  Web image We had a lovely meal at the Boathouse one evening. We had about an hour wait so we walked around the historic district for a bit and oh my! I found the cutest little Christmas ornament shop. I can't believe I did not take any pictures. Especially when I LOVE ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS.  There is nothing like the sound of the ocean and the clean salt air to me.  We had brunch one morning at Sliders and one can never go wrong with Grits and Shr

Wednesday in the Word-Merry Christmas

  Luke 2 The Birth of Jesus 2  In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2  (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3  And everyone went to their own town to register. 4  So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5  He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7  and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. 8  And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10  But the

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-Christ in Christmas

I found this poem and thought it to be appropriate to share for the holiday season. Another reminder to KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS! T'was The Night Before Christmas Not a Sign of Baby Jesus   T'was the night before Christmas and all through the town Not a sign of Baby Jesus was anywhere to be found. The people were all busy with Christmas time chores Like decorating, and baking, and shopping in stores. No one sang "Away in a manger, no crib for a bed". Instead, they sang of Santa dressed-up in bright red. Mama watched Martha Stewart, Papa drank beer from a tap. As hour upon hour the presents they'd wrap When what from the TV did they suddenly hear? 'Cept an ad.. which told of a big sale at Sears. So away to the mall they all flew like a flash Buying things on credit and others with cash! And, as they made their way home From their trip to the mall, Did they think about Jesus? Oh, no... not at all. Their lives wer

I've been reading "Why Nativity" by David Jeremiah. When I got to the chapter called, "Why the song of Mary" , I had to stop and try to take it all in . The song is called, Mag nificat , which means, "It magnifies" . In earlier translations of the Bible, Mary's first words were rendered as, "My soul doth magnify the Lord."  W e learn of us this song through scr ipture when Mar y went to visit her cousin El izabeth. When Elizabeth cri ed out in expression of joy Mary, having waited for days to sha re her amazing news that had come into her life, expressed a little joy of her own! She was carrying the Sa vior of this world! Mary lifted her voice in a song of praise to a wonderful God.   I cannot almost hear Mary singing can't you?  E ven in the midst of her carrying the Son of God in her womb, not knowing what tomorrow would hold, she praised Him ! E ven with her being a young woman, unmarried and a virgin, she praised Him!
