{I Am Retired Y'all!}

  It sure is a bittersweet time but I am surely looking forward to my adventure with the Lord. I wanted to share a few pictures with my friends. I have received so many phone calls, texts, cards and gifts this week that have just brought tears and joy.  Turning in my office keys of many years was hard! But, Jeremiah 29:11 is surely reminder that God has set the plans for my life and that I will trust.  I only had the blessing of serving alongside Pastor Scott for nearly a year and I pray God's blessings upon him and his family as his journey continues. However, he is a quick learner and learned that I was the BOSS! LOL! The former pastor and his wife that hired me 22 plus years ago even tuned in to the recognition with a video. It melted my heart. I will never forget interviewing with Bro. Edsel in his office and then I was interviewed by the personnel team.  Lastly, Bro. Edsel's wife Judy interviewed me at a luncheon. Bro. Edsel trusted her discernment of me totally. However,

As the Christmas season approaches I have found myself getting in that frame of mind of being "overwhelmed" with my list of things to do! How about you? Of course I am one of those species that worries about not getting a full nights sleep too! You worry about not sleeping so therefore you are already anticipating that you won't sleep! Yeah, I know...crazy huh? I found myself in this same frame of mind yesterday except it was with my calendar! The more I looked at the dates circled for events, shopping, parties, meetings and etc. the more I found myself becoming overwhelmed! I kept thinking, "What can I give up? I've got to attend this event and go to that party or parties....I've got to do this and that and well I finally just closed the calendar and began to pray and ask God to speak to my heart.  After I had prayed I decided to google some poems for Christmas so I could share it with some of our ladies at church. Boy or boy does God have a

Wednesday in The Word: Prayer

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results”                  (James 5:16; NLT). Living in a fallen world we deal everyda y with hurts, needs, sickness and more. Sometimes our hearts are so overwhelmed by the many needs of our family and friends. We must carry these needs to the Father in prayer. He is the ONLY one that can truly heal a marriage, restore a family, heal the sic k, a nd turn the impossible to possible. May we be diligent with our prayers. May we seek Jesus in all things.  I love what Charles Spurg eon said: "We need to recognize that our spirit needs prayer like our body needs food!   Prayer is the Key to all things!  Let’s commit to spending more time in prayer today! Make sure you don't allow the enemy to rob your time to pray — for it's in prayer that we tap into God's unlimited power that makes demons tremble!   Hugs and blessings, Cindy

Wednesday in the Word

  Today, all I ca n say is WE MUST TRUST GOD! 2 Chronicles 7:14 New King James Version (NKJV) 14  if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  Psalm 4: 8 (NIV) “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety”. Hebrews 12:2 (NIV) 2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God .    Hugs and blessings, Cindy
