{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each year with the Conner side and there is a PILE of us but the little ones love having all the cousins there. One of our granddaughters found the prize egg this year. $64.oo!!! I think I will see if the adults can egg hunt next year!

We were belated at celebrating our friend Renee's birthday but we did. We had a lovely lunch that ended with lemon cake and lemon buttercream icing. So nice to be with long time, life long friends. So much laughter is shared.

Marty and I slipped off for a day date and enjoyed some seafood tacos. I love those DAY DATES!

Tomorrow is our eldest daughter's birthday. We will celebrate her Sunday but she is like her mama and celebrates her whole BIRTHDAY MONTH!

My May focus in right on target. I pray daily for wisdom but oh do we ever need wisdom this day and time in this thing we call life here on earth.

I recently went to the dermatologist for a checkup and needless to say after a 3 1/2 hour procedure, 47 injections and 22 stitches I came home. I am happy to say my incision is healing nicely. Skin cancer is no joke my friends and yet something that so many take lightly.

AND if that wasn't enough the very next week I got my feet all tangled up in a blanket and here I went up against the wall. Praise the Lord that I was able to catch the end of the couch and broke my fall but I am afraid two ribs suffered with hairline fractures. I guess Yoga has paid off. LOL! But, I am much better. When it rains  it pours but I choose to still dance in the rain and give God praise.

I will close today with one of my favorite scriptures that I have clung too for a year now.

Remember to continue to dance in the rain and give HIM praise in the storms of life. He does have the victory.

Happy May friends.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  3. I wish I could've been at your luncheon and heard you speak! I can well imagine it was wonderful! And I love the idea of the tea party and especially getting to keep the tea cup and saucer! Now THAT's special! Goodness! That trip to the dermatologist sounds like it was a bit painful! I keep saying I need to go to one, but now I'm not so sure! LOL. And I'm sure thankful you didn't hurt yourself any worse when you fell. Cracked ribs are bad enough! Oh my! Happy Birthday to your sweet daughter, and so lovely to see all you girls together. Also, congratulations to Mallory and her team for winning the championship! I enjoyed your post so much, and yes, Wisdom is my one word for 2025, so that verse is one that I refer to often. Take care my friend. You are a blessing to all of us.

I know you were such a blessing to the ladies, and I love the teacup you got to bring home with you! Always love the pictures of your beautiful family! Special day outings with our husbands are truly the best! I'm sorry you've had so many challenges with your health and continue in prayer for the Lord's help for you through it all! Love the verses you shared. What would we do without the Lord!

  13. Hey, friend....make sure you keep your armor on! I don't want to read any more of your episodes, okay? These pics are so springy and colorful. As always, you could pass for a sister, not a mom to three lovelies. Man, those tacos look yummy and I wish I could have been at the women's tea. I bet your message was inspirational. Loving hugs, Cindy!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
