{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{Happy Mother's Day To All My Blogging Friends}

  Happy Mother's Day to all my friends in blogland. Whether you are a mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin or friend, you are special to some one and have touched the lives of many in some way or another I am sure. I do hope that you all have had a wonderful day. My heart is full as I think of so many of my friends that have lost their moms or those ladies that has played a huge roll in their lives. This morning I prayed for the sons of our late and beloved friend Debby, from My Favorite Things. I am sure this was a hard day for her sons. I also gave praise that I could share today with my daughter's. Counting my blessings today my friends as it is a blessing to share those special moments with the ones you love the most. I am truly grateful that God chose me to be these girl's mom. God is good.  After church today we celebrated my oldest daughter's birthday (Kristy) and also celebrated Mother's Day. Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs was on the menu.  Kristy asked fo...

{Fun in the Country and Beach Time is a Comin'}

Nothing like walking outside your home and picking beautiful flowers! But oh has this heat been a killer on my pretties. At least I have been able to enjoy a few pretty blooms.  Me and this sweet girl made  cookie dough chocolate chip cupcake brownies together. Of course licking the bowl was her favorite part! She and her older sister stay with me one night and one day each week through the summer and we have had so much fun.  And I am sure you know by now that we do lots of baking at Nana's house. We went straight to baking with our hair a mess and no makeup on but who cares, right? Well my 14 year old granddaughter might care when she realizes nana posted this picture huh?  Our Jacksonville Baptist Association was having a banquet at our church so this grandgirl and I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing with a blueberry on top for their event. And of course licking the beaters is the favorite part!  She may need a...

{Chair and Hutch Makeover, Brownies and Life}

In the midst of my many makeovers I managed to get another chair painted. Remember the one I painted blue? Which I love how it turned out.  I adore how the blue turned out. I have several of these chairs I use for various things so decided this one needed to be white for my kitchen. This poor chair was weather WEARY so it took a good two coats on it. But the white gave it some life. It was a dingy yellow by the time I got around to painting it. My Herb Box redo looked so nice sitting in my freshly painted white chair. Decided to make a small burlap wreath to add to my chair. I am happy with this cutie sitting in the corner of my kitchen. Serves as two purposes too. One is for holding my herbs and whatever else I want to put in the chair and should I need an extra chair for someone to sit in, out comes the box of herbs.  Remember the vintage corner hutch I bought at an antique store?  That girl took some work! I took t...
