{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Fun in the Country and Beach Time is a Comin'}

Nothing like walking outside your home and picking beautiful flowers! But oh has this heat been a killer on my pretties. At least I have been able to enjoy a few pretty blooms.

Me and this sweet girl made cookie dough chocolate chip cupcake brownies together. Of course licking the bowl was her favorite part! She and her older sister stay with me one night and one day each week through the summer and we have had so much fun.

And I am sure you know by now that we do lots of baking at Nana's house. We went straight to baking with our hair a mess and no makeup on but who cares, right? Well my 14 year old granddaughter might care when she realizes nana posted this picture huh?  Our Jacksonville Baptist Association was having a banquet at our church so this grandgirl and I made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing with a blueberry on top for their event. And of course licking the beaters is the favorite part!

She may need a hair cut before long.

Our sweet newest addition to our family came to visit and I could kiss her sweet little lips off! I do too every chance I get. She is beginning to want to coo now and is the cutest thing.

Older sister loves playing in her baby pool and with her water table when at Nana's. Of course she had to show off her little bracelets. In her hand is a costume ring. Her first place to go to when at my house is my jewelry box. And of course I let her play with what she wants too.

My favorite grandson (I only have one grandson) has been a busy boy at our church. We have a group of men called "Carpenters For Christ" and they do so many good things for churches all around the state and a lot for our community as well. They are currently working on several projects at our church and my grandson has been helping to make that happen. He has such a wonderful servant's heart. Melts this Nana's heart for sure.

These sisters spent the night with me so their mom and dad could have a little outing for their wedding anniversary and we had fun painting toe nails and doing makeup. Wish I could hire Mallory to come and do my makeup daily!

Mallory even talked her Papa into letting her give him a spa treatment on his feet and hands. He said, "Don't think my feet and hands have ever felt so good". LOL! What us grandparents will let the kiddos do!

And.....Just so you know because YES, I am excited....I am out of pocket for 9 days beginning Thursday and for 7 of those days I will be at my HAPPY PLACE! It's time for our family beach vacation and we have such a good time together. I am truly blessed that our daughters along with their families enjoy these special times together.  I have already began my packing! Ain't nobody leaving without me!

So, I will see you all when I return to blog land in a few weeks. We are gonna make some memories for memory lane.

I would like to leave you with this today. Our youth department is being renovated and each youth could write a scripture on the cement floors before re-doing them. My oldest grandchild and granddaughter wrote this verse. I have always loved this verse. Maybe someone reading this today needs a reminder that our God is always with us...no matter what we walk through...HE IS THERE

Happy Week to you all.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

I'd be kissing those lips of your baby grand, too. Don't those kids do our hearts good, and bring such joy?

  17. I wondered when your family beach trip was coming up. Adorable pictures of the kids Cindy. Love the pedi and mani going on there. Ha! That baby will be getting a hair cut before long for sure. My grands had very little hair and what they did have they lost it time they were 4 months old or so. But now one of my granddaughters has a head full of thick curly hair. Have fun with your family at the beach. If you get a chance send me the name of the condo you stay at. We are thinking about doing a sister trip with some of the ladies at church late August.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
