{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu

I hope that you all have been enjoying your weekend. We have had lots of rain and with trying to work outside this weekend well, it's been a hit and a miss! But I am enjoying a little bounty from my little garden and of course baking! And, trying out a new recipe for grilled chicken that I would like to share. SO GOOD!  Of course my family enjoyed the cake after Sunday dinner too. My granddaughter Mallory Grace just turned 12 years old and she asked me to bake her birthday cake. Just something simple....Chocolate cake with chocolate icing and chocolate covered strawberries.  Ladies, how can a Nana turn that down? Her wish came true.... Best chocolate icing recipe ever! Tuesday Toots-Recipe and Tutorial

How about pickled banana peppers and pickled jalapeno peppers? I do believe this picture needs to go on the front of a magazine don't you? I just love it! And this one..... Loved these 1/2 pint cute jars! I decided to use the 1/2 pint jars for the peppers. I washed jars, lids and seals in hot soapy water and let them dry. Decided I would do some pepper rings and some half peppers. Washed the peppers, got all the seeds out and washed them again. (Recipe at end of post) Cut and diced like I wanted. I also used the same recipe for the Jalapeno peppers. I done a few rings and some half peppers. Garlic... YUM! I use one garlic per jar. You actually would use 1/2 of a pod of garlic per jar but we like a little more garlic so I went with it! Picking and Canning Salt. Vegetable oil. Turmeric Spice Now after your jars has dried fill your jars with your peppers. For half pint jars add 1/2 tsp. of oil and 1/2 tsp. of Pickling and Canning Sal
