{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{Happy, Happy, Happy}

My Sunflowers are blooming and oh so pretty. I planted my first sunflowers ever the year after my motherinlove went home to be with the Lord. October made 4 years that she has been gone so this is my 3rd year of planting them. She loved sunflowers so much and I wanted to try my hand at them in memory of her.  God has been very sweet to me and allowed those cuties to always bloom and be healthy.  This year my sunflowers became heirlooms at that as my sister Mary harvested her seed from the summer before. I was going to harvest mine from last year but either it was too wet or the birds ate all the seeds. You can see a bee in the middle of the one of the sunflowers. The bees are loving them. It doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy but my sunflowers are surely on that list! The sunflower’s yellow color symbolizes vitality, intelligence, and happiness. The color yellow also traditionally symbolizes friendship.  No matter how small o...

My Happy!

SMILE....TODAY IS A NEW DAY! Just sharing a few things that make me happy!  Awe yes...homemade biscuits from scratch rolled out by hand.  My granny made every single pan of biscuits from scratch. I can remember her having a large tin can that she kept her flour in with her sifter tucked away neatly in a cabinet. I remember as a little girl standing in a chair to watch her make biscuits. I was always amazed at how she would knead and knead that dough and then she would roll the dough in between the two palms of her hands, place them on the iron skillet pan and make her knuckle prints in them. She would save just enough dough to make a little tiny biscuit and that ONE was mine. (of course she done this for all the grands but I thought she only done it just for me) I never could quite master the art of my granny's biscuit making. My sister Mary could make her biscuits look and taste like granny's though. My favorite part of all is the Iron skillet pan ! It ...
