{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Everyone Needs A Little Fun In Life}

Mercy, has time slipped away from me with blogging. Marty and I took a little time away and then there seems to be so much happening around my neck of the woods that getting a post done has been almost impossible. Well, until now!  We spent a few days at my favorite place, St. Augustine Florida which always requires beach time. You know that you have overstayed your welcome when the security guard has to remind you that you have to be off the beach in 30 minutes! LOL!   Marty surely took the opportunity to get some much needed R & R. No, we didn't create the sand creations but I had to snap a picture of them. Old Glory makes every trip to the beach with us every time that that go and she's flying mighty high and proud.  We stayed at what used to be a B & R. New ownership now has taken over and they had just been opened a week when we stayed. They still have quite of bit to do but it was so lovely and relaxing.(Bliss By The Sea)  The Long boardwalk behind the ...

{Happy Monday}

  I hope that all of you mom's and grandmother's had a wonderful Mother's Day. I was surely blessed and had such a great day that I missed my usual Sunday afternoon post.  My daughters are all moms too so we celebrated together. I am so very blessed to have daughters that love me so well. It's amazing at how your girls become your best friends as adults. Of course they know I rule the roost!!! Some things NEVER change! LOL!  We went out to eat in Fernandina Beach and had a lovely meal. Then we spent the afternoon at the beach. The weather was perfect. My three daughter's surely did good when they gifted Marty and I with these sweet grands.  I have quite a few buckets of tomatoes growing and they are coming along nicely. We've even harvested some potatoes and have gifted some and have eaten out of them several times. Oh, there is nothing better than fresh veggies.  My Easter Lilies are so pretty this year.  We experienced quite a hail storm this past Th...

{Birthday Celebrations, Soccer Game and More}

Happy Sunday afternoon y'all! Winding it down after a wonderful day of birthday celebrations.   Our lovely granddaughter Raygen turned 19 years old day. It just seemed like yesterday that I was rocking her and singing to her. She is such a lovely young Christian woman that loves Jesus, her family and friends deeply. She's talented and the Lord has gifted her with a beautiful singing voice, a love to play piano, guitar and write some of her own songs. She blesses us with singing on our praise and worship team at church and if you want to see me cry UGLY, then let her get up there and sing solo! Lordy, this nana's heart just soars with joy! She surely has made us proud and we are praying for blessings to abound her in life.  We also celebrated my soninlove's birthday as his special day was April 11th. David is such a good sport to go along with whatever I ask him to do and didn't hesitate putting on his birthday hat. Of course, I do feed him Sunday dinner each week! L...

{Beaching with the Girls}

Good Sunday afternoon everyone. I hope that you all are having a wonderful Sunday and that tomorrow, July 4th, that you enjoy your red, white and blues. I just returned from from a short getaway to Fernandina Beach with my three daughters and we had such a wonderful time. We had one shower of rain but needless to say, I was a drowned rat! But oh did it ever feel so good and I simply just give praise for the much needed rain and time away with the girls. I for sure got the biggest soaking but then I can't move as fast as my girls! LOL!  Web image We had a lovely meal at the Boathouse one evening. We had about an hour wait so we walked around the historic district for a bit and oh my! I found the cutest little Christmas ornament shop. I can't believe I did not take any pictures. Especially when I LOVE ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS.  There is nothing like the sound of the ocean and the clean salt air to me.  We had brunch one morning at Sliders and one can never go wrong with Grits a...
