{WHERE DID OCTOBER GO?}

  Good Sunday afternoon y'all. Where in the world has the month of October went too? My girls and I just said today that it seems that Christmas is knocking on the door already. Whew! But I will tell you a secret.....I've already been listening to a little Christmas music! LOL! I was creating a Christmas music playlist and the next thing I knew I was singing Christmas carols!  Marty and I managed to get away to do a little hunting in those Georgia Pines and I never tire of seeing the cotton fields. I will miss seeing those beautiful puffs of white cotton when it's harvested. There is just something about sitting in a tree stand and enjoying nothing but nature and God.  The trip paid off as Marty was able to harvest several deer and his dad came to help us process as we like to process our own meat if possible.  I did get a little time on the mats last week and made my instructor some homemade chicken noodle soup. I loves soups all year round. I am ready for a pot of chili t

Wednesday in the Word-Birthday Blessings

As most of you know my new word for 2014 is "Rejoice".  I have so much to Rejoice about. One thing I rejoiced in was my birthday! Yes, I had a birthday on Feb. 18th and celebrated another year of life. Amazing at how the older we become the more we appreciate LIFE!  Cake made by my niece Stephanie. The word CAUTION is right because I intend on making every moment count with the 2nd chapter of my life!!!!   One thing I am learning is that with age it makes you stop and think about the many blessings in your life and even a greater appreciation for those blessings. So for my birthday I am THANKFUL ! Thankful that my mom chose to give birth to me. She did not have too but she did! I will forever be grateful that because "she chose life" I had life!  Mom Very blessed with family and friends that loves me just like I am... My three daughters. The Lord knew what He was doing when He gave me girls...I cannot imagine a bond any deeper. My best

Wednesday in the Word-Do good unto others

Galatians 6:10 - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith. I love this scripture. Such a wonderful reminder to us that as Christians we are to do good to everyone but especially those of the faith. I love doing for others, how about you? I can't always do all the things I would like to do. But, the thing I have learned over the years has been that even the most simple acts of kindness mean so much. It can be a smile, a pat on the back or a great big hug. It can be sharing your lunch with someone just because you can. It can be a batch of cookies or a meal cooked for a family. Sometimes the greatest gifts received are simply our words of encouragement.  Within the last week I have received two batches of cookies from friends who brought a smile to my face and a lift in my spirit simply because they were thinking of me.  May be all have the mindset of thinking about others. There is always somet

Wednesday in the Word-Friends

Today I want to share my little craft gift for a dear friend's birthday. First, let me say that she is a Seamstress and only those that love to sew would appreciate such a gift.  I wanted to do something different for her birthday than the usual box of candy, bottle of perfume or good book to read. I saw this cute idea on none other than Pinterest but decided to tweak it up a bit to fit her style. A Memo Board .......LOL! Doesn't look like anything special does it? Just a cute memo board from Target but enough room that she could place her little memo's on. (Actually she needs a huge one because she stays so busy with her sewing for others)  Then my next item for the agenda was sewing items to place on the board. The idea that I saw showed different colors of thread on spools glued all around the memo board. Loved that idea so I pulled out my sewing stash and a plea to some friends that if they had any items they did not want I would take them. Several friend
