Well our February Florida weather is cool in the mornings, warm during the day and cool at night. Which to be honest, suits me! But, we can't have perfect weather that suits us all can we? This weather has had me in the baking mode though. I saved a few apples from our mountain trip and baked an apple bundt cake to freeze for a Sunday dinner sweet. Decided to whip up a batch of Kitty's shortbread spritz cookies. They weren't as pretty as hers but oh they would melt in your mouth. Be sure to pop over to see her recipe. https://www.kittyskozykitchen.com/2025/01/impossibly-easy-ham-and-swiss-pie-and.html#more I had some left over deer venison and decided to make a Venison and Penne Casserole. Was a hit with Marty and his dad. But, we love all things venison around her neck of the woods. One day I had some broccoli that was going to go bad if not used so whipped up a little comfort soup. Broccoli and shedder cheese soup. My oldest granddaughter Raygen bought h...
Galatians 6:10 - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
I love this scripture. Such a wonderful reminder to us that as Christians we are to do good to everyone but especially those of the faith.
I love doing for others, how about you? I can't always do all the things I would like to do. But, the thing I have learned over the years has been that even the most simple acts of kindness mean so much.
It can be a smile, a pat on the back or a great big hug. It can be sharing your lunch with someone just because you can. It can be a batch of cookies or a meal cooked for a family. Sometimes the greatest gifts received are simply our words of encouragement.
Within the last week I have received two batches of cookies from friends who brought a smile to my face and a lift in my spirit simply because they were thinking of me.
May be all have the mindset of thinking about others. There is always something we can do to bring a smile to someone else.
I decided to bake some cookies this week for my Bible Study gals. Hopefully it will bring a smile to their face as well as comfort to the tummy!

ReplyDeleteThese cookies look so yummy and different! I try to do good things for others!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat for your gals! Love the simple recipe. My kind of baking. Cindy, you are right...even the small acts of kindness goes a long way with folks.

My biggest problem is follow through. I will think of something I should do for someone, then never get around to doing it. But you are right, little things can brighten up someones day and it doesn't have to be more than a text asking how they are doing.
ReplyDeleteCindy, I agree. When we do something out of love, it makes a person feel cherished and cared about...no matter how small we may think it is - it has a HUGE impact in that persons life. No act of kindness, no matter how small is wasted. So happy to be one of your bible study gals...cause I get a cookie tonight!! Johnna D.
ReplyDeleteI just love cake mix cookies! I've used the gluten free cake mix. It does have 16 grams of sugar, though - the regular gluten free sugar cookie mix has only 9 grams. Crazy. They look delish and the thought behind them makes them more delectable!
ReplyDeleteJoy!

I agree Cindy, even the simplest of acts make such a difference. Sometimes it's just a listening ear. The cookies look yummy and I'm sure your friends loved them!

ReplyDeleteHi, Cindy. Cookies are door-openers, aren't they--or heart-openers! :) What a sweet post (the pun wasn't intended, but hey...).
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my winter picnic, and for faithfully pinning...I really appreciate your taking the time to do both! ~Zuni
Your link was ahead of me on Woman to Woman today.
ReplyDeleteIt gave me a warm smile and hmmm....I want those cookies! ; ) Thanks for the reminder to keep doing good for others and for HIM.

I have been hearing so much about this subject the past few days, including last Sunday's sermon! Love and kindness never fail!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies sound and look so good! Wish I had one right now! ;-)

Great reminder, Cindy, and the cookies look so delicious!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I love the way you tie in a post with the Word. It's really faith in action. That happens to be one of the verses I studied with my Bible study class in our current unit about "one another". I make a cookie recipe what uses box cake mix as a base with those additional ingredients, but I never knew that I could substitute sour cream for the oil. Now, I want to try it, and I really want to try it with the strawberry version you made. They look yummy.
