I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
Galatians 6:10 - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
I love this scripture. Such a wonderful reminder to us that as Christians we are to do good to everyone but especially those of the faith.
I love doing for others, how about you? I can't always do all the things I would like to do. But, the thing I have learned over the years has been that even the most simple acts of kindness mean so much.
It can be a smile, a pat on the back or a great big hug. It can be sharing your lunch with someone just because you can. It can be a batch of cookies or a meal cooked for a family. Sometimes the greatest gifts received are simply our words of encouragement.
Within the last week I have received two batches of cookies from friends who brought a smile to my face and a lift in my spirit simply because they were thinking of me.
May be all have the mindset of thinking about others. There is always something we can do to bring a smile to someone else.
I decided to bake some cookies this week for my Bible Study gals. Hopefully it will bring a smile to their face as well as comfort to the tummy!

Iced Strawberry Cookies
Ingredients:
1 Box of Strawberry Cake Mix
2 eggs, slightly beaten
8 oz. Sour cream OR 1/2 cup of oil
Mix all ingredients just until well blended. Scoop 1 1/2 teaspoons of batter and roll into powdered sugar. Place on baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 6-9 minutes. Allow to cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
Icing:
1 cup of powdered sugar & 2 Tablespoons of milk
Mix together until smooth. Ice cookies while they are still a little warm. Before icing sets, add colored sprinkles.
Good to the last bite!

My biggest problem is follow through. I will think of something I should do for someone, then never get around to doing it. But you are right, little things can brighten up someones day and it doesn't have to be more than a text asking how they are doing.
ReplyDeleteCindy, I agree. When we do something out of love, it makes a person feel cherished and cared about...no matter how small we may think it is - it has a HUGE impact in that persons life. No act of kindness, no matter how small is wasted. So happy to be one of your bible study gals...cause I get a cookie tonight!! Johnna D.
ReplyDeleteI just love cake mix cookies! I've used the gluten free cake mix. It does have 16 grams of sugar, though - the regular gluten free sugar cookie mix has only 9 grams. Crazy. They look delish and the thought behind them makes them more delectable!

I love the way you tie in a post with the Word. It's really faith in action. That happens to be one of the verses I studied with my Bible study class in our current unit about "one another". I make a cookie recipe what uses box cake mix as a base with those additional ingredients, but I never knew that I could substitute sour cream for the oil. Now, I want to try it, and I really want to try it with the strawberry version you made. They look yummy.
