{Let June Begin}

  It's Sunday afternoon and my tribe has left after a wonderful and breezy afternoon. The youngest two grands made friends with a baby bird today and was so sad when they had to let it go.  We attended a dance recital for these two littles. They both done so good. It was so bright outside and we were all squinting in pictures. The girls had a fan club for sure. Marty and I are blessed that our family always supports one another. Just BLESSED y'all. Just blessed! Marty enjoys coffee cakes and breads with his morning coffee on his way to work so I baked a yummy cranberry & orange coffee cake with drizzled icing. It smelled amazing baking. I think I might have a slice in the morning. LOL! The month of May was National Physical Fitness & Sports month so we ladies finished up strong. We added extra workouts to our yoga classes in different areas and well, let me just say, "I found a few muscles that I didn't know I had". LOL! My focus board for June is so fitti

{Christmas Hodgepodge}

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday as I did. I just can't hardly believe a brand New Year is almost upon us.  I love doing Christmas with these girls! From left to right....oldest daughter, middle daughter and baby daughter. And there is nothing better than GRANDBABIES ! I totally understand the sentence, "I wish I could have had them first".  These sweet babies not only fill our laps but our HEARTS !  Nothing like the love of family. We are so very blessed. Speaking of Christmas, let's have a little Christmas hodgepodge. Inquiring minds want to know..... 1:  Did you receive a gift this year that you will re-gift next year? 2: Did you give a gift this year that you received last year? 3:  On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the Grinch and 10 being the Elf ...where would you come in at here with Christmas cheer? 4: What was your favorite food or dessert item you ate during the Christmas holidays at a par

{Christmas Time's A Comin'}

Christmas is almost here...And POOF it will all be over but the cleaning up! But even with all the cleaning up, packing away and turkey sandwiches for a week, I still love this time of the year. Don't you?  I think Santa has already came to Nana and Papa's house though. I bought myself a little Christmas present too...DON'T YOU LOVE MY NEW PLATES?  I was so excited when I found these at Ross. I snatched all 8 of them up faster than you can spit!  They look so pretty with my red chargers and Christmas dessert plates.   I decided to use my old bread bowl that was gifted to my by my grandmother. Her daddy, my great-father actually carved this old bread bowl. I need to try and restore it. Some paint got spilled on the inside years ago and it's cracking. But it worked beautifully for a centerpiece.   I love the red and white napkins nestled in the goblets.   My runner this year is three poinsettia place-mats.    My l

{Chewy Cake and Cookie Party}

TIME for our annual "Nanny Conner Chewy Cake party" . Our chewy cake tradition actually began after my motherinlove passed away and she was the reason my daughter's wanted to start this tradition for any of the girls in the family that would like to be a part of our "Chewy Cake Party".    You have to know the story behind the reasoning for "Chewy cake" so let me share.  Every year during the Christmas holidays my motherinlove would bake chewy cake. She loved to bake it but I think what she loved even more was giving her chewy cake to others to enjoy.    Each year for Christmas at the Conner Christmas Eve party you could expect to receive a gift of chewy cake from Nanny.   It started out many, many years ago where each person in the immediate family would get a gift from Nanny but over the years as the children began to be born, then the grandchildren and then the great-grand children...well needless to say with such a large gr
