{Happy Resurrection Day}

I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month.  Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now!  Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said!  I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style.  The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters.  Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo

Let's Talk Thursday

 Web image from  http://paulajilling.com/2014/04/22/lets-talk-talking-or-what-is-my-talking-style/   Okay, just for fun today let's find out what our style of communication is. Remember, this is for fun and you do not need to post this on Facebook. Take the quiz and come back and tell me what it says. https://www.blogthings.com/whatsyourcommunicationstylequiz/  Here was the answer to the quiz for me: Your Style is Assertive You believe that communication is all about give and take. You're always trying to strike the right balance. You have no problem asserting yourself, especially when you feel like you are being ignored. You refrain from being aggressive though. You believe that you have something to learn from everyone. And you're willing to listen well enough to hear it. You are good at drawing people out and getting to the heart of the matter. You communicate well and ask the right questions.  How fun... Happy Thursday!   Hu

Wednesday in the Word-For Such a Time as This

 Web Image Have you ever stopped for just a minute and honestly asked the question to yourself or to the Lord, "Why am I where I am at at this time of my life?" Maybe you are working at a particular job that you never dreamed you would be at and you're not to happy with it. Maybe you are raising your grandchildren and 5 years ago you would have never thought to see yourself in this position. Maybe you have worked your whole life to build a retirement and in the midst of that retirement you find yourself loaded down with health issues. Our list could go on and on and while only God truly knows the answers to our questions I think it would be safe to say; That our Lord is using our current situation to complete His purpose through us. I didn't say that we necessarily like the situation nor that we understand the situation. Just simply that our Lord is using our situation to bring Himself glory and He finds that it is Good for us! (whatever the IT

Our youngest daughter got engaged on Saturday and we are beyond excited! Meet my baby girl, Marti Leigh and her fiance David.   YES , our whole family was in on the surprise.We knew two weeks ago this was coming. David, being a man of honor and respect came to my husband several weeks ago to ask for permission to marry our daughter. Now , I must share a little funny with you. About the time David was trying to ask my husband this important and nerve wrecking question my husband was standing by the fishing pond with his SHOTGUN fixing to shoot a moccasin! BRAVE MAN is all I know to say!  Needless to say we (as in my other two daughters and myself) have kept it a secret but oh was that ever so hard to do!  And I would say that David has very good taste too wouldn't you?   YEP ...we&#

Wednesday in the Word-The Lord is My Rock and Strength

The Lord is described as many things such as; Strong Tower, Fortress, Shepherd, Shield, Light, Deliverer and the list could go on and on. But He is also our Rock and our Strength . Sometimes just the weariness of life in general can overwhelm us at times can't it? I don't know about you but there are times when I feel like every ounce of strength I've got is zapped from me and my life can resemble a cooked noodle instead of a Rock ! How about you? The truth is that we all face times that we feel we have no strength to carry us through the trail, tribulation or just the course of life that seems to our present path.  There are days when we feel guilty for silently complaining when we look around and see all the hurt that others are feeling. We think, "I am shamed to even ask for prayer because my current needs and situation is so light compared to others. On some days we think " DOES anyone else even CARE ? Do they realize what my needs, my hurts a

Tuesday Toots and Recipe for Eggplant-Chicken Parm

I like eggplant parm and I like chicken parm so why not have them together? I found the recipe from Rachel Ray ... YES ...my favorite TV cook of all times! But I tweaked her recipe just a tad as I did not have everything that she listed so used what I had.  Okay, so the Eggplant came straight out of garden....Wash the eggplant, slice the ends off and then cut in 1/4 inch steaks. Rinse well. Sprinkle a little Kosher salt on the eggplants and then lay out on a paper towel while you prepare your other ingredients.  I love Kosher Salt and use it for almost everything! Next, take a small onion, peel, and dice it up. I used 3 cloves of garlic and diced them up.(However fine you want the onion and garlic to be) I like a little "chunk" in my sauce. Take 3 tablespoons of butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon of olive oil or veggie oil and melt. Add your onions and garlic to the butter-oil mixture and a pinch of Kosher salt and cook on medium heat covere

Make Me Smile Monday-School's In!

My youngest daughter is a First grade school teacher and this is her 6th year of teaching. She loves her job and her babies. My "make me smile grin moment" came when she shared with me that she had been asked to take Top Group at her school! She had already been voted on by her piers to be Team Leader for her Quad this year so this news was like an added extra dose of excitement and nervousness rolled up into one. YES ...this Mama GRINNED from ear to ear! Ya know Mama's and Nana's do a lot of grinning! However, this also meant....new class room, re-decorating and revamping. OOH ...lots of work! Needless to say...there is very little we do in our family that the whole family doesn't get involved in so this task has taken the later part of summer to accomplish but we got it done! Want to share with you some of the class room activity that's been going on.   She has had a Star theme going on already but this year we decided to jazz it up a l
