{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu

{October Is Half Gone Y'all}

  Good Sunday Afternoon friends. I do hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I am admiring a few more sunflower blooms this Sunday afternoon and drinking a loaded tea.  Several of you inquired on recipes for some of the teas I have been making and I wanted to tell you that I get lots of ideas from Pinterest and from friends that also love the different kinds of teas. HOWEVER, I am BAD to make up a recipe and not write it down!  Marty and I got away for a short weekend trip to hunt a little. We wanted to have a few extra days to hunt however, my FIL lost a sister, 98 years old and on the day of her funeral his 96 year old brother passed. If you think about it please lift my FIL up to the Lord in prayer. (Conner family) There were 12 children and now there are three of them left. Praise the Lord that God gave his sister and brother a long good life.  We did enjoy a few days of hunting and I managed to harvest a doe. I done a little hunting, eating, shopping and then propped my f

{A Whole Lot of Baking, Cooking and Loaded Tea Making Going On}

  Happy Sunday Afternoon friends. Hope you've all had a great week. I've been doing some cooking, baking and tea making.  I've really been enjoying making and creating loaded teas, shakes, smoothies and coffee drinks. I have not been writing down my recipes but guess I need to start doing that so I can remember what all I done! LOL!  I try to stick with healthy and low calorie drinks and have so many different things that I want to try.   But, this is an easy way to get extra vitamins, or Collagen, or protein.  I drink lots of water and this helps to give me something to add a little extra taste.   Mercy, I'm having too much fun with these teas. Decided to do a little baking this weekend too for my family. Pumpkin muffins with brown sugar topping was on my list for sure. I had enough batter left for miniature pumpkin chocolate chip muffins so baked a batch of those. If that wasn't enough already, I baked up some peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips. Needless t

{Enjoying Life} And a short getaway with Family

  I hope that you all have had a great weekend. I sure have. Spent some time with family for the weekend and well, it just don't get much better than family time .  Done a little hunting, shopping, eating and a whole lot of playing with the littles.   YEP, we had  chocolate milk   ...in the bed! They loved every minute s taying with Nana and of course getting by with lots of extra things....LOL!   My soninlove downed two nice bucks in two days! Guess what's for supper one night this week?  Yes friends, I am still truly enjoying my sunflowers.  I will miss them. I enjoy so much walking out to where they are each day and looking at them. They have kept me supplied in bouquets.  A friend in my Bible Study gifted me this precious journal and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Oh yes, these words are so very true. I hope that you all have a wonderful week and remember,  We must keep our eyes on the  SON.  Web image Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy November}

  Don't you just love this color? Well can you believe it is already NOVEMBER! To be perfectly honest with my blogging friends there is a part of me that feels that the months, the weeks and even the days has been soooo slow due to the pandemic. Another part of me feels that the months, the weeks and the days have flown by. In the last 7 months I have experienced fear and sadness and yet, I have experienced pure joy and delight . This thing we call LIFE ! Not an easy road at times but it's sure one worth living to me. With November beginning I am praying for so very many as well as our country and I am planning to continue to do life as I know it and enjoy it to the fullest. Speaking of enjoying life....I have surely been enjoying my sunflowers.  These beauties can surely light up your world.  I am hoping to pick a bouquet one day this week. I have a bounty of beautiful sunflowers and they remind me so much of my late motherinlove. (Her favorite flower) She was the reason I

{Happy, Happy, Happy}

My Sunflowers are blooming and oh so pretty. I planted my first sunflowers ever the year after my motherinlove went home to be with the Lord. October made 4 years that she has been gone so this is my 3rd year of planting them. She loved sunflowers so much and I wanted to try my hand at them in memory of her.  God has been very sweet to me and allowed those cuties to always bloom and be healthy.  This year my sunflowers became heirlooms at that as my sister Mary harvested her seed from the summer before. I was going to harvest mine from last year but either it was too wet or the birds ate all the seeds. You can see a bee in the middle of the one of the sunflowers. The bees are loving them. It doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy but my sunflowers are surely on that list! The sunflower’s yellow color symbolizes vitality, intelligence, and happiness. The color yellow also traditionally symbolizes friendship.  No matter how small or how litt
