Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu
Good Sunday Afternoon friends. I do hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I am admiring a few more sunflower blooms this Sunday afternoon and drinking a loaded tea.
Several of you inquired on recipes for some of the teas I have been making and I wanted to tell you that I get lots of ideas from Pinterest and from friends that also love the different kinds of teas. HOWEVER, I am BAD to make up a recipe and not write it down!Marty and I got away for a short weekend trip to hunt a little. We wanted to have a few extra days to hunt however, my FIL lost a sister, 98 years old and on the day of her funeral his 96 year old brother passed. If you think about it please lift my FIL up to the Lord in prayer. (Conner family) There were 12 children and now there are three of them left. Praise the Lord that God gave his sister and brother a long good life.
We did enjoy a few days of hunting and I managed to harvest a doe. I done a little hunting, eating, shopping and then propped my feet up with my Christmas socks on! Love me some Christmas socks! Do you like fun socks?
My girl that loves her lipstick!
The oldest grand is showing off her fall colors.
And...my granddaughter (on the left) and her friend at the play Hamilton. Their moms surprised them with tickets. They had the best time.
These grands sure do make life sweeter.
October is half gone y'all! November is right around the corner. Tell me some fun things you plan for November? Right now for me, I hope to get started on my Christmas decor. I know.....BUT I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
I hope that you all have a good week and that the Lord blesses you above measure. I'd like to leave this piece I read recently and it sure was a sweet reminder to think about those things that truly matter.
I am so sorry for your loss(es)...how horrible, Cindy. Keeping you in prayer, sweet friend. On a happier note, your photos are just plain lovely. smiles
ReplyDeletepraying for your family right now in this double loss. so hard.
ReplyDeleteand yes, i'm all about the fuzzy socks right now. couldn't do the coming months without them!
Thanks so much. YES, love me some cute and fuzzy socks.
DeleteI love Christmas socks ( yours are especially lovely). Congratulations on getting that doe. You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks GM. Yes, I will take a doe but sure hope I get another big buck. LOL!
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your family's loss and I say a pray for your FIL. I am glad you still got to go on your get away. I love the pumpkin patch pictures!!! That is great that your grand daughters got to see Hamilton. We say it on the Disney Channel and really enjoyed hearing history in a new way. I got to see Phantom on Broadway and Vegas and I loved it. I love musicals!! I am planning on decorating for Christmas earlier too! That shirt if cute! We watch the National Lampoon Christmas Vacation on Thanksgiving weekend. It is good to laugh and be silly! Enjoy your week Cindy!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. Our Mallory was so excited when she was surprised with tickets. She loved it!
DeleteCindy, prayers for your FIL and your family. Even though his loved ones lived s long, blessed life, it’s still hard to let them go. Those are such cute pictures of your grand girls! They are really growing up! Congratulations on your deer harvest! I bet you and Marty were busy processing the meat the next day. J and Andy had great luck elk hunting in Colorado. It was their first time going and they both harvested a medium-size bull! They got home early Friday morning and after a few hours sleep, spent the rest of the day cutting and freezing! Some of it was taken to the processor for sausage and sticks. Needless to say, our freezers are now FULL! What a blessing! Thank you for sharing that quote from Lysa. What a lovely reminder of what really matters! Have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Tell the guys I said from a huntress to hunters...congratulations! Girl, at the price of groceries these days we best be stocking that freezer! LOL!
DeleteThat is sad to lose two loved ones but it sounds like they lived good long lives. Love the photos of everyone! And your tee shirt is cute! Still can't believe how good you look out in the great outdoors! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Girl, my friends laugh at me about having on my earrings and lips painted in the woods while hunting. But like I tell them....I am still a girl! LOL!
DeleteSorry for your family's loss. Prayers for all of you. Your grand girls are just darling. Love their sweet outfits too. I need those cute boots and cute ruffle sweater in my size!!! Have a great new week. xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am with ya Kris on those cute boots and sweater!
DeleteLove the grandkids' cute pumpkin pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm also into fun socks. Right now I'm wearing my fuzzy Halloween-themed (candy corn and witch) socks.
I'm also an early Christmas decorator. Gotta maximize my enjoyment of the festive decor, right?!?
I love fun socks and my oldest daughter probably has a pair for every holiday, theme, and color. I love to decorate for Christmas. I am just much slower at it these days! LOL!
DeleteBeautiful words from Lisa T. So encouraging when we do things in secret that only our Lord sees.
ReplyDeleteThe gals at the pumpkin patch all received the "wear something yellow" memo! They are adorable and soooo photogenic!
Once again you have blessed me over and above with the comments you send my way. The Lord has used YOU and others to hold me up when I felt so wobbly. Today marks 11 months and I have to say I am just this side of shocked at how the Lord has preserved/protected/provided for me. Maybe to say I'm shocked is too strong for a woman of faith like me. But truly, my belief in His love for me has been put to THE TEST since Beloved's passing. The Lord has blessed me and I am grateful.
Thank you, dear Cindy, for being a big part of my team of encouragers! Love you, girl!
My tribe believes in matching! LOL! Barbara, you my friend.....YOU are an inspiration to me!
DeletePrayers for your family and sweet FIL, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat darling Fall photos if your girls, and also of you, Mrs. Beautiful Huntress!
Yes, the words at the end, were written so beautifully, weren’t they? I hope you have a lovely week. I’ll be busy preparing for Christmas when November rolls around. My how time flies!
Thank you Kitty. No matter the age it's hard loosing loved ones isn't it? Yes, Christmas will be soon and I sure do love Christmas . The lights, smells and all the festivities sure make me smile.
DeleteI am so sorry for your family’s losses. I know it has been particularly hard for your FIL. I am so happy that you and hubby could go hunting on a long weekend and I do love your socks. I always enjoy all of your family photos. The grands are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. You are so sweet.
DeleteYour poor, dear father-in-law! I can't imagine losing any sibling, let alone losing two in such a short time frame. Bless his dear heart! That is so pitiful. I do trust the Lord will wrap His precious arms around him and all of you and comfort you during this time. My aunt had 16 in her family, and she just lost her last remaining sister at the age of 95, and now my aunt is the only one left and she is now in the hospital very bad off with covid, pneumonia, and Afib. She is so dear to me, and I can't even bear the thought of losing her. I am hoping and praying so hard that God will raise her up and give her more time with us, if it is His will. We always want more time, no matter how old someone is or how much time we have already had with them. I am so thankful in Heaven, we will never part or have to say goodbye to our loved ones. What a day of rejoicing that will be! Sending love and hugs to you, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl. Praying for your aunt. Only God can heal and sometimes that healing comes in heaven doesn't it? Hugs and blessings, Cindy
DeleteIt's always fun to go away for a day or two. AND, those pumpkin pictures are just the best!!! So, so cute of your girlies, big and little. I love my daily tea too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea.
DeleteCongrats on the doe! My guys are still trying. I used to hunt, but not anymore. We are preparing for a wedding next month. I have to sew a ring bearer pillow, as all my kids are in it, and my youngest son is the ring bearer. I cannot believe it's already the end of the year!
ReplyDeleteYou better get to sewing girl! Yes, November is right around the corner and then it will be Christmas. Boy time sure seems to fly by these days.
DeleteOh, I love that quote from Lisa T. What a wonderful way to think about heaven. I like that and it gives me hope. Loved your pictures of your beautiful daughters and their beautiful daughters...you do have the loveliest family! And I love that you and your hubby got away for some hunting together. That sounds like fun. My sympathies to your father in law and his family. What a strange but yet sweet thing that two of the siblings entered heaven so close together! I bet the first one who entered heaven was sure surprised when the next one came along too! What a grand reunion they must all be having up there. We really don't know exactly what will matter in heaven and what won't, but I think there is going to be a lot of singing and hugging and joy for each and every one! Yes, October is now one day away from being over. No special plans yet for Nov., except Thanksgiving of course, but I don't even know what we are doing yet for that day...I guess someone needs to start planning. LOL. Have a blessed rest of October tomorrow, and then we'll "see you" in November!
ReplyDeleteOh it's going to glorious in heaven dear Pam. Marty's family always gets together at his dad's home for Thanksgiving. We had a great time. I will probably go to Georgia Thanksgiving afternoon with some of the family for a long weekend. Ready for some dressing and gravy. LOL!
DeletePrayers for your family, especially your Father-in-Law. Congrats on your successful hunt. My sweetheart and son and grandsons hunted locally with no harvest in the freezer this year. His elk hunt for Eastern Oregon was cancelled by the state due to the wildfires that ravaged the area where they hunt. I love the words you shared about Heaven. If only we can keep a Heaven perspective here on earth and remember what's truly important for all eternity!
