{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

{October Is Half Gone Y'all}

Good Sunday Afternoon friends. I do hope that you all have had a wonderful weekend. I am admiring a few more sunflower blooms this Sunday afternoon and drinking a loaded tea.

Several of you inquired on recipes for some of the teas I have been making and I wanted to tell you that I get lots of ideas from Pinterest and from friends that also love the different kinds of teas. HOWEVER, I am BAD to make up a recipe and not write it down!

Marty and I got away for a short weekend trip to hunt a little. We wanted to have a few extra days to hunt however, my FIL lost a sister, 98 years old and on the day of her funeral his 96 year old brother passed. If you think about it please lift my FIL up to the Lord in prayer. (Conner family) There were 12 children and now there are three of them left. Praise the Lord that God gave his sister and brother a long good life.
 We did enjoy a few days of hunting and I managed to harvest a doe. I done a little hunting, eating, shopping and then propped my feet up with my Christmas socks on! Love me some Christmas socks! Do you like fun socks?

My youngest grands went to the Pumpkin patch and had a great time. Their moms snapped a few pictures for me. We have the neatest Pumpkin patch in our county.

My girl that loves her lipstick!

The oldest grand is showing off her fall colors.

And...my granddaughter (on the left) and her friend at the play Hamilton. Their moms surprised them with tickets. They had the best time.

These grands sure do make life sweeter.

October is half gone y'all! November is right around the corner. Tell me some fun things you plan for November? Right now for me, I hope to get started on my Christmas decor. I know.....BUT I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

I hope that you all have a good week and that the Lord blesses you above measure. I'd like to leave this piece I read recently and it sure was a sweet reminder to think about those things that truly matter.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. Cindy, prayers for your FIL and your family. Even though his loved ones lived s long, blessed life, it’s still hard to let them go. Those are such cute pictures of your grand girls! They are really growing up! Congratulations on your deer harvest! I bet you and Marty were busy processing the meat the next day. J and Andy had great luck elk hunting in Colorado. It was their first time going and they both harvested a medium-size bull! They got home early Friday morning and after a few hours sleep, spent the rest of the day cutting and freezing! Some of it was taken to the processor for sausage and sticks. Needless to say, our freezers are now FULL! What a blessing! Thank you for sharing that quote from Lysa. What a lovely reminder of what really matters! Have a blessed week!

  9. Beautiful words from Lisa T. So encouraging when we do things in secret that only our Lord sees.

    The gals at the pumpkin patch all received the "wear something yellow" memo! They are adorable and soooo photogenic!

    Once again you have blessed me over and above with the comments you send my way. The Lord has used YOU and others to hold me up when I felt so wobbly. Today marks 11 months and I have to say I am just this side of shocked at how the Lord has preserved/protected/provided for me. Maybe to say I'm shocked is too strong for a woman of faith like me. But truly, my belief in His love for me has been put to THE TEST since Beloved's passing. The Lord has blessed me and I am grateful.

    Thank you, dear Cindy, for being a big part of my team of encouragers! Love you, girl!

  12. Your poor, dear father-in-law! I can't imagine losing any sibling, let alone losing two in such a short time frame. Bless his dear heart! That is so pitiful. I do trust the Lord will wrap His precious arms around him and all of you and comfort you during this time. My aunt had 16 in her family, and she just lost her last remaining sister at the age of 95, and now my aunt is the only one left and she is now in the hospital very bad off with covid, pneumonia, and Afib. She is so dear to me, and I can't even bear the thought of losing her. I am hoping and praying so hard that God will raise her up and give her more time with us, if it is His will. We always want more time, no matter how old someone is or how much time we have already had with them. I am so thankful in Heaven, we will never part or have to say goodbye to our loved ones. What a day of rejoicing that will be! Sending love and hugs to you, sweet friend.

  15. Oh, I love that quote from Lisa T. What a wonderful way to think about heaven. I like that and it gives me hope. Loved your pictures of your beautiful daughters and their beautiful daughters...you do have the loveliest family! And I love that you and your hubby got away for some hunting together. That sounds like fun. My sympathies to your father in law and his family. What a strange but yet sweet thing that two of the siblings entered heaven so close together! I bet the first one who entered heaven was sure surprised when the next one came along too! What a grand reunion they must all be having up there. We really don't know exactly what will matter in heaven and what won't, but I think there is going to be a lot of singing and hugging and joy for each and every one! Yes, October is now one day away from being over. No special plans yet for Nov., except Thanksgiving of course, but I don't even know what we are doing yet for that day...I guess someone needs to start planning. LOL. Have a blessed rest of October tomorrow, and then we'll "see you" in November!

  16. Prayers for your family, especially your Father-in-Law. Congrats on your successful hunt. My sweetheart and son and grandsons hunted locally with no harvest in the freezer this year. His elk hunt for Eastern Oregon was cancelled by the state due to the wildfires that ravaged the area where they hunt. I love the words you shared about Heaven. If only we can keep a Heaven perspective here on earth and remember what's truly important for all eternity!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
