{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

So I was asked yesterday if I done any kind of craft or homemade goody for Christmas gifts this year as she knows I usually do something along those lines. Well, I must admit that I was a tad busier than I like to be right about the time the holidays was approaching so NO, I really didn't do anything crafty or homemade except for one gift for a friend but I do want to share it with you as I thought it turned out really cute!

 I saw the idea of taking sprinkles and filling clear ornaments with them and making a little baking gift so decided to do this for my friend. The gold basket held ornaments with sprinkles, sugar cookie mix, dishtowel, hot chocolate, chocolate candy, peppermint, cookie cutters and etc. I wrapped the basket in cellophane,I tied a wooden spoon to it and a cookie cutter and it turned out really cute.

So now it's your turn. Did you whip up something during the holidays for a gift?

Okay now for a hard question. Do you STILL have chocolate left over from the holidays that you are hiding?

Well, no chocolate here...doesn't last long enough to hide but I did find a box of candy canes in the pantry! It's not chocolate but I use them to stir my hot chocolate!

Now that we are in the New Year is there a project that you are working on or are you still trying to tidy up after the holidays?

For me, I'm all cleaned up from the holidays and I ALWAYS have a project going on!

Right now I am trying to work on my outside shed that HOLDS ALL MY JUNK! It is about to kill me cause I am trying to declutter, throw away and label boxes as I clean. I do pretty good UNTIL I get to MY DISHES! You all know that "My name is Cindy and I'm a dishaholic! When you don't know what you have because you have too much....then that's your sign that something needs to GIVE!

I am NOT going to show you EVERYTHING but here's a glimpse of what I am dealing with..and believe me when I say a GLIMPSE.

 My man told me that they have a show on television about people like me.....BUT at least it's not in MY HOUSE right? At least it's outside in a shed. I will show you pictures of when the declutter is over with! LOL!

What book are you currently reading right now? Or if you are currently doing a Bible Study would you share what?

Right now I am reading a small short book that I've read quite a few times over the years but from time to time but I need to read it again!

The Bible Study we just began is going to be so good too!

Matter of fact in my first week "this" jumped off the page at me.

Has anything sparked your interest from Pinterest lately? Well, I am a OFF and ON kinda Pinterest gal but recently this sparked my interest!

Isn't this adorable? My granddaughter Kyleigh would look adorable in this little outfit. She might just have to have one of these cute outfits!
 And since we are just chatting...I am so excited that we've actually had a little cold weather in my neck of the woods and that we've got to build a fire in my fireplace!Matter of fact I am warming by it as I write!

A friend of mine sent this image to me as she knows I love coffee but I do love this sign too!

 I do hope that you all have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend and I'd like to end with some food for thought.

  2. What a cute and crafty gift!! I love the sprinkles in the clear ornaments. I'm done cleaning up the holiday stuff and there is some chocolate bark left in the fridge that I'm ignoring. :) I couldn't find regular peppermint candy canes after Christmas and I really wanted one!

  4. Hi Cindy, oh what a fun and informative post. Love your gift basket. What a great idea for Christmas and other holidays too. I made candy, merry mix and pizzelles this year for gifts and placed them in pretty containers. No chocolate here now, thank God. Time for me to buckle down and re-food myself. haha I also created pretty ornament tags to add to cards and of course lots of ornament gifts.

    Love that sweet little outfit. Your grand would look adorable in that. Your dishaholic shed is fabulously filled with treasures. I just cleaned out and organized my studio store room yesterday. It was a bit out of control. It happens somehow doesn't it?? I just don't understand why!!!!! haha

    Currently I am reading a book I got for Christmas by Paul Evans, The Mistletoe Inn. Thank you for sharing this fun post. Have a great day.
    Blessings xo

  5. I like the gift basket, Cindy! So elegant and colorful...and practical! I am working on a blog post, an interview with the author of a non-fiction book I just read. Hope to complete it all by the weekend because the way he lays out the foundations of our Christian faith drew me so close to Jesus. It was a great experience for me and hopefully for others. Have a good week, my friend!

  6. Blogger is giving me fits this morning and ate my comment so I'll do it again. Sigh.
    I think the gift basket is adorable! I made a quilt for a friend as her Christmas gift and that was the extent of my crafts for the season. I enjoy getting into a mess and clearing out and rearranging. I'd probably have a hard time with dishes too. I've been on Pinterest lately looking for ideas and tutorials for Bible journaling. I'm trying to decide what Bible study to begin. I have Anne Graham Lotz's book "Just Give Me Jesus" which looks like a study in John so I may do that one. Have a great day!

  7. First of all, I've got to say that I'm sitting here green with envy (I know that's a sin, right)....I want a shed all my own!!! I've even asked for that!!! ;-) Here goes with answers to your burning questions...LOL Love the basket idea....I did one for a hurting friend a while back, but it wasn't nearly as pretty as yours. I did a blog post on some of the things I made as Christmas gifts....I try to do handmade to save money, but I stress myself sometimes with waiting till the last minute! What I'm reading? The Daily Bible, a 365 daily devotional, which I'm enjoying so much. Also, Sweet Grace, A Weight Loss Memoir by Teresa Shields Parker...oh, my how it's speaking to my heart and soul. AS for Pinterest....I would have to live to be at least 1,000 years old to do all the projects I've pinned...especially, the crochet ones! And, candy...yes, I still have LOTS left...simply because Jack filled my stocking full of all kinds of dark chocolate...yummy!!! This was so fun, Friend...Happy Wednesday to you!

  8. Hey Cindy, I am just cracking up right now!! Your shed is great and not even close to what the TV show is, but my husband is very vocal when it comes to my thrift store habit too LOL! :) I love the gift basket you made for your friend. It is such a sweet and thoughtful gift and I am sure she loved it cause it came from your heart. I do still have chocolate as I am trying to drop some pounds from all the fantastic holiday food. I have enlisted my 14 year old son to help eat some of it. He still has the metabolism to do so and get by with it. It's so nice that you asked about current books as I just started a bible study called The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer. Our Sunday morning class is doing a 6 week study session and we are doing prayer strategies on cards to pin up in various places at home to remind us of the power of prayer and defending ones self against the unseen enemy. I pin a lot of clothing on Pinterest. I am currently looking at baby girl clothing ideas for my 10 month old granddaughter. Santa brought me a sewing machine for Christmas so it's exciting to start making some cute little outfits. I love the one you pinned. I am sure your granddaughter will be adorable in it. I hope your shed project goes smoothly. See you again soon.
    Peace & Blessings,
    Karen

  9. Always good to read your posts. I am quite behind having been gone 11 days and all the holidays etc. I saw a promotion about Kelly's new bible study. It sounds great.
    I need a shed because I also have your disease and my house is bursting at the seams. Why are we so drawn to dishes? I am crazy about your chargers. I love the shape and color. Your table looks great. Very eye-catching. I have a similar tablecloth.
    I don't do crafts although I like to see what others do. All I made this year was a caramel cake for Christmas and I hosted my Sunday School class Christmas party pot luck dinner so I sat up tables for 28. It was fun because I pulled out every Christmas decoration I had but a lot of work as I do all my own cleaning too. It's getting harder to do everything like I used to.

  11. Cindy,
    I so enjoy being part of your life and you make visiting you such a cozy and warm place to be and share.
    I too have read this little itty bitty book that is packed with power.
    It is in the office right now, and you have spurred me on to read and seize.

    Oh yes, even though we had only moved into the new house for a short time, I found my way to the oven and stove top and baked away.
    I am getting stern with myself now and no more of that nonsense!

    I love your shed-it looks like it houses so much history and information:) We are all cleaned out now, because of the move-it's a good things, but I do feel a little nostalgia for the items no longer with us.

There is not an empty cabinet left in my kitchen! I read the prayer of Jabez a few years ago and I have your closing statement written in my Bible! Enjoyed it all!!

  17. Hi Cindy! Oh, I thought this was a picture of my basement! ;) I totally understand about stuff and trying to get it under control. That was my plan after Christmas but then I broke my stupid ole knee! Bummer, but I'll get to it. I've read the Prayer of Jabez book and love it. I had bloodwork done once and the 'sticker' lady told me her desire was to bring no harm to me and thanked her and she did a great job! You're a blessing.

  18. Hi Cindy, I enjoyed my visit here tonight. I still have candy canes and chocolate left over. I did bake cookies one evening with my grands and I posted a picture at my Christmas site for 2015. I have read Prayer of Jabez and Secrets of the Vine. I did a webpage on the that too. You are so creative and that basket is a great idea. My cousin has made us gifts like that. I understand your shed and I sure wish I had one. I have 3/4 of the garage instead! :)

    The basket was such a cute gift!! This was pretty much what a lot of areas looked like in my house last year but after a year of purging and organizing, I am proud to say that the whole house looks pretty good. And I am starting over again this year with the purging and organizing....Good luck on your quest!!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
