{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

{Just a Thrifting, Partying and Feasting}

There's a little girl
In the neighborhood
Her name is Cindy Conner
And her thriftings looking good....

Now I will be singing the John Anderson song, "Just a swinging" the rest of the day. LOL!

It's been a while since I have been thrifting and decided to do a little. So glad I did. I found the cutest little snack plates with matching cups.

A service for 8 matter of fact and for $16. YES, you read correctly. 16 bucks for a service for 8 and not a chip one on any piece. MY KIND OF THRIFING! I know thrifting isn't a real word. But it's my word now cause I made it up! LOL!

Then I found these cute snack plates too. I have these exact ones. Matter of fact I have several different patterns of snack plates. They didn't have the cups to match but I also have tons of little clear cups that I can use.

They had 8 of these plates for a total of $2.99. Not $2.99 each...but all 8 for $2.99! Girls, I cannot pass up a deal like this.I have tons of snack plates. Matter of fact I am not going to sat how many cause then you will really know the depth of my "Dishaholic" problems! My man told me that I DID NOT NEED ANOTHER DISH! But, I never said I NEEDED them! I WANTED them!

Found this cute vase for 99 cents. I call it the thumb print vase as the design looks like thumb print indention's.

Remember this pretty corning ware pattern? Some of you may still have some of these dishes. I had several pieces but over the years they have gotten broken. It was just too cute to pass up. So, for a $1.99 it came home with me too. I felt I done really good with my thrift store goodies and money wise too.

My 13 year old granddaughter made her first homemade apple pie. Didn't she do a great job?

A group of us ladies had a girls night out and enjoyed a comedy starring Chonda Pierce. We had pizza, popcorn, candy, drinks, games and prizes. I don't know when I have laughed as hard or so much.

We had the best time. Laughter is indeed the best medicine.

Everyone wanted a door prize to say the least!

Our photo booth with props was the hit!

There is nothing any sweeter than your sisters in Christ.

I had the opportunity to have "Thanksgiving Feast"with this cutie at school.

It's been a busy week but a good one. Thanksgiving is this week and with that I want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy your family and your friends. Remember to thank the Lord for His many blessings. We deserve nothing but yet we are so very blessed.

See you after Thanksgiving.

  1. Cindy, You are as cute as the little cutie you had a day with at school. I loved your thrifting....it sounds more like a proper word than physicality. What?? A word I have heard a lot of lately. LOL. Once a waitress asked what my husband and I had been doing one day...we said
    sale-ing....she says oh I would love to be on the water...we said "No, yard sale-ing." LOL. Blessings to you and yours this Thanksgiving, xoxo, Susie

  3. There's nothing like the thrill of scoring a bargain. You scored great finds at your thrifting, Cindy. I think we may need to set up an online support group for our dish/china addiction! The other day, I was mentally tallying up my teacups...and stopped counting when I realized that I was going to surpass triple digits. HA! Your ladies' movie night out looks like a blast and your granddaughter is too cute. Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that you all have a great Thanksgiving day. Looks like we are expecting 90% chance of rain that day. But...it won't stop Thanksgiving.

  11. Oh, sweet friend! It is always such a delight to visit with you here!! You are such a blessing and bright spot for us all! I LOVE your wonderful finds that you uncovered while thrifting! I take a notion to do that now and then, although, we are in such a downsizing, minimizing mode, I find that it gives me more pleasure to do that nowadays, than to acquire more stuff. I guess it is just seasons of life that we go through. It looks like you and your sweet sisters in Christ had an amazing time that night! And, that sweet, little one that you got to have lunch with is just precious! So happy things are well with you, and I trust God will give you and your dear family an amazing Thanksgiving Day together!!!

  12. Well, thanks for the song stuck in MY head now, too! ha, ha. I grew up on that song. :)

    So funny that you posted about dishes. We are also having "dish" talk, but ours is the exact opposite. Because of the screwy way our lives were thrown together, we never had a chance to buy household items, never had a wedding reception, etc. It never bothered or occurred to us until we started having people over for Bible studies...we have NO glasses and only 6 bowls! ha, ha. There's a lot of other "missing" items, too, but how did we never miss owning some glasses, for Pete's sake! Just my funny spin on your story.

    That pie looks delicious. She did a great job. Happy Thanksgiving, my friend!

  13. WHAT? Thrifting is not a real word? haha...I use it all the time. Oh well. Love the buys. The corning ware used to be a popular pattern, matter of fact when I was a kid, I had a toy set like that and even came with those handles in plastic! Too funny, not thought about that is years. I came over to your blog to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat and have a great time.

    I know your granddaughter was proud to have you attend her Thanksgiving feast. That's a great picture of you two.
    We had a great Thanksgiving with all my family at my house. Had them for a whole week. It was a lot of cooking and eating but a sweet time. My house got much smaller sleeping 10. Know your Thanksgiving was great, also. Now, everyone is gone and the decorating has started for Christmas.

  17. Cindy, I've been helping a friend declutter (we still have a few sessions to go) and during our last session one of the things she reluctantly parted with (donated to our favorite local charity shop) was a stack of those glass snack sets just like yours! Your granddaughter made a perfectly lovely pie!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
