Merry Christmas My Dear Blogging Friends

I feel like it's been forever since we've chatted. I have been so busy over the last couple of weeks, helping out with grandbabies, working part time, trying to do a little Christmas, and well, life is just busy right now. Anyone else there?

Grandbabies sure makes life a whole lot sweeter. Those of you that have grands I can hear you saying AMEN!

Seems time caught up with me quick this holiday season. I did manage with the help of my oldest granddaughter Raygen to get my kitchen and living room decorated for Christmas. There is an advantage to having older grands. LOL!

I didn't decorate as much this year as I usually do but good enough for me.

My granny's dishes got a touch of red this season added to them.

I love my centerpiece for my dining room table. You can't see but very little but the Dough bowl holding my centerpiece was given to me by my granny and her daddy, my great-grandfather actually carved the bread bowl.

I am really enjoying my snowflake dessert dishes this season.

And I have lost count on how many Santa's I have here and there. My daughter's think I am obsessed with him. LOL! I do love me a Santa though.

This is our youngest granddaughter. Even though this isn't a good quality picture I just love it. This was at my daughter's house and she had already told me that Adalynn wasn't allowed to touch her ornaments on the Christmas tree. WELL....SEE WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS.................
She just wanted to experience the magic of Christmas....RIGHT? I love being a Nana....I get by with lots!

Matter of fact that little grandgirl helped me with a lot....

Notice how Santa's head is a cocked to one side? Well, she only wanted to have a tea party with Nana....LOL!

It was nothing that we couldn't fix.

But we did have a tea party....

Who could say no to this sweet girl?

She loved putting ornaments on the tree too. I found several just stuck in the tree.

The last thing to go up this year was my tree. It is usually the first thing to go up but for a few years now I have been wanting a skinny Christmas tree. I think the proper wording is pencil tree. I love my Christmas tree's that I have and I say tree's because I have two full size trees and several 4ft white and 4 ft green trees. But this year I wanted something a little different. Do you ever get that way?

My daughter Melissa ordered me a skinny tree and when it arrived and we put it together which was only three pieces my first thoughts were, "I AIN'T LIKING THE NEW TREE". But, as my sweet man said, "Cindy, I have never seen a pretty Christmas tree to be honest until it's decorated! TRUE!

I absolutely love my skinny tree and so glad that I have it now.

Don't you just love my newest ornament? My daughter Melissa and granddaughter Mallory brought it back for me from New York. And, it just happens to be my WORD for 2017 that the Lord gave me to focus on.

I want to thank you all for being such sweet blogging buddies this year. Though I only have time to blog once a week and here lately that has been a hit and a miss but I sure enjoy you ladies. I hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas. May we be so sweetly reminded that without Christ there would be no CHRISTmas. He is indeed the REASON FOR THE SEASON.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. Cindy, I love the pictures and I love your skinny tree. I bought a thin tree last year and love it too. Plus, if you get tired of it and want to go back to big tree then that tree is thin enough you can put somewhere else. I LOVE the picture of your grandgirl touching the ornaments! Gave me a good chuckle.

  3. Your home is filled with love and joy and your Christmas decorations just add more to that! I had a pencil tree with pre-wired lights....until they burned out halfway down! I still have it waiting for me to figure out how to relight it! We went back to real for now. I agree.....without sweet grandchildren Christmas would be kinda boring! Have a very happy Christmas! xoxo

    1. Ann Marie, I had a pre-lit tree too and when they all burned out I cut them off the tree as best as I could and then just put regular lights on there and by the time I added ornaments you could not even tell I cut them out. I will never own another pre-lit tree. But I am enjoying my skinny tree.

  9. What a wonderful, wonderful Christmas post, Cindy. You are so right- Grands are the best part of Christmas for me. I didn't decorate nearly as much this year as I usually do either. That's okay this year---lots of stuff going on. Love that precious picture of "do NOT touch the tree"....lol That is framable. Beautiful grandkids, by the way.

Have a blessed, Merry Christmas. xo Diana

    1. You have had lots of things going on girl. I don't know how you have done what you have. But the whole thing when it comes right down to it is NOT how much we decorate, or buy. It's spending time with those we love. I am learning that all the more as I get older. There's just some things money can't buy nor can pretty decor outdo! And that is precious memories!

  14. Your home looks so perfectly fun, and merry, my friend! I know what you mean about the grands, for sure. My three year old, Harper, just loves my ornaments! As Nana's we know that breakage happens, and yes, a little fixing takes care of things. How sweet that your oldest grand helped you decorate. The new tree looks wonderful, and yes, sometimes we just need something new. My big tree was the last thing that I did, too. I have to say that my bedroom tree is my very favorite, though.
Enjoy your sweet family, and Merry Christmas Blessings to all of you!

  17. Your Christmas decor is lovely, especially your fun Santa collection. I'm glad that you liked your new slim/pencil tree. A few years ago, my mom acquired a skinny, pop-up tree and it looked much more festive all decked out in holiday decor. Your adorable granddaughter made me smile. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  18. Those grands certainly do make the holidays exciting! :) We had a new one arrive Sunday night. I have had a bad cold so I have not been able to love on him yet. I've seen photos and he's one cutie!! Our 2 year old grandson was found standing in the middle of our coffee table one night checking out my ornament tree. There's only a tiny space between the tree and my nativity from Prague, which is under a cloche. Could not believe he didn't know anything off. I love your pretty dishes. I have had a very crazy 6 months. Hoping 2018 is better! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

It stinks because isn't this the time of year we're NOT supposed to be busy? ha, ha. Things are slowing down here for me now. Hopefully you find some rest soon, too. Have a Merry Christmas!!

    1. Thank you. It seems that it's hard to balance busyness regardless of what time of the year it is but for some reason, Christmas does seem to be a busy season for most. Praying that regardless of how busy I may be that my focus is indeed on the Christ child. Merry Christmas.

  22. Cindy, If I could blog once a week I would feel successful. I had a function at my house on Dec 11 and I had to scramble to get all decorated after having all my kids and grands staying here for a week at Thanksgiving. That's three meals a day and for 10 people! Needless to say, I did not have time to read blogs or blog! I am still catching up. We went to our daughter's for five days for Christmas. We got home on the 26th and I've been packing up the decorations since. I think it's all put up but the naked tree is still in the family room.
I love your new pencil tree and to have numerous others all I can say is ,Wow! How sweet to have help with your decorating.
It is so sweet to have a little one still in diapers and another on the way.
Love your, "Believe" ornament. So glad you had a wonderful Christmas. Sorry, I didn't get by before but I had my hands full.
Now, it is time to say, Happy New Year!
