{It's A New Beginning Y'all}

  It's a tad late to wish a  Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...

Wednesday in the Word-Happy New Year and New Word for 2015

Well, I wonder how long it will take me to write 2015 instead of 2014? I am usually well into March before it kicks in! LOL! It just seems like last week and it was the new year of 2014! Must be an age thing but dang time seems to fly these days. I've been praying for several weeks now about what my new word for 2015 would be. For those of you that know me well know that several years ago I began to seek God for a WORD of His choice that would be MY WORD for the new year and that no matter what came and went in life that I would focus on that word. In 2013 the Lord gave me the word Peace .  In 2014 the Lord gave me the word Rejoice. My word for 2015 is Praise.   Web image   There is so many stories I could share with you about my WORD CHOICES. The word PEACE came at a time that let's just say there was several things I struggled having peace about it but in the midst of those things I would focus on the peace that God gives and not...

Wednesday in the Word-How do I know?

I've had women ask me, "Cindy, how do you know that God is speaking to you? How do you know if God is calling you to do things? How do you know?????  Web image Well, all I can share with them is how I have seen the Lord work in my life and sometimes I have missed it! Just simply missed it! But, that is all the more reason we MUST stay tuned in with G od . Take the time to hear His still small voice because He does NOT always speak with a loud boom like we would like for Him too! As far as Him speaking to me He does that all the time. Not in an audible voice but to my spirit. The problem is that sometimes I just don't simply listen. Anyone else have that problem????  However, when I feel He is calling me to a specific task or asking something of me that I am not quite sure about I try to really listen and look for the signs. My rule of thumb is first and foremost: 1: Does it line up with scripture? If it doesn't, then I know that it is NOT from...

Wednesday in the Word-Seek Peace

Have you felt discouraged lately? Maybe it's not just one particular thing that is bothering you but several. Sometimes the "several" things add up quick and the next thing we know we become so discouraged. We find ourselves walking in the dry dessert and longing for that refreshment.  Elijah was like that too. If you remember his story in 1st Kings he had just experienced one of the greatest victories recorded. He challenged hundred of prophets of Baal and he won! Instead of enjoying the spotlight Elijah fled to the dessert and prayed that God might take his life. Talk about going from one extreme to the other???? Elijah went from the mountaintop experience into the valley of despair all in one day!  Sometimes we are just like that aren't we? We suffer changes of our attitude and when we do it leaves us discouraged. We too need what Elijah needed..... REFRESHMENT . If you recall the story God first gave Elijah sleep and rest under the tree. Then an angel appeared...
