{Hello friends}

  Hoping this finds my sister bloggers doing well on this windy Sunday afternoon. Yep, we've got a little wind howling around here and a tad cool but I am enjoying a lazy afternoon. My Sunday lunch crowd (my family) have left for the day so I am kicked back. Sunday menu today consisted of: Chicken and dressing Giblet gravy Italian green beans with ham Mac & Cheese Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache.  Yep, they are little spoiled at Nana's house. I am not a huge fan of cakes with icing but it must have been good as one of the grands had two slices.  These gals and I have been friends for more years than I remember and since we've all retired within a few months apart in retirement and age (dating back to 4th grade in school) we try to get together once every 4-6 weeks. We always do something extra for our birthdays but was a tad late celebrating mine this year together due to other appointments that was a must. We always have a gr...

{It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year}

Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it's time to crank up the Christmas festivities!  I know that our Lord did not ask me for my opinion about the holidays but I really wish we had a little more time between Thanksgiving and Christmas . It just seems that gobble, gobble, gobble turns into ho, ho, ho too quick.  Speaking of Thanksgiving I do hope that you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our family surely did. We had lots of people, lots of food and lots of laughter. And just so you know....our babies are never too old to sit in your lap!   Despite the busyness of the holidays I did manage to stop at a yard sale and so glad that I did.... As soon as I spotted this plate I knew I needed wanted it.  She had four of these darling Johnson Brothers plates and a bowl. And I grabbed the 4 plates with matching bowl for $10. If you are familiar with Johnson Brothers then you know I got a deal.  Grabbed this ...

{Pancakes and Pajama Party and a Little more Fall}

My granddaughter Mallory will be celebrating her 9th birthday on November 23rd but we celebrated her special day with a Pancake and Pajama party over the weekend.  My daughter Melissa had a sweet lady make her the cutest cookies ever. Pj's and pancake cookies! The kids loved them. (And some of of us older kids did too!)  My niece Stephanie made her cute cake!   The kids had a great variety of breakfast goodies. Pancakes, Sausage, Cereal, Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, three different kinds of Donuts, Cake, Cookies, Milk and Orange Juice. Us big kids had COFFEE !    Of course everyone came in their PJ's in which I loved!!!  And Nana just had to be a little different with a bow in her hair.... (that silly Nana)  Here's a few collages of our Pancake and PJ party. Mallory's Nana and her Grammy enjoyed every minute of this sweet girl's special day!   I shared a little Fall in my kitchen l...

{Fall Tablescape}

Oh I do love the colors of Fall. My beautiful glass pumpkin took center stage on my dining table.  I've had my gold wired box for years and decided my glass pumpkin would fit nicely in it . I made a little Fall spray to fit on the top and flow down the side. Added a small pumpkin with some ribbon and I am pleased.  The napkins I made a couple of years ago along with a runner to match but decided not to use the runner this year. Instead I had bought some curtains from a yard sale last year and decided to cut one of the curtains and make a runner to match. The gold flat wear was gifted to me by my long time, life time friend Janice.  I added some flowers to the tops of my little pumpkins and placed one on each plate. I love my new chargers this year.   You just can't beat goblets in any color can you?  Purchased two new candles along with the candle holders this year and they added to my table nicely.  The cute salt a...

{Mug and Teacup Exchange}

IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR STEPHANIE'S MUG AND TEA CUP EXCHANGE REVEAL! Yes, the big reveal on Stephanie's blog is tomorrow but I couldn't stand it any longer and I had to post my beautiful treasures that I received.  Stephanie from Enchanting Rose hosts twice a year a Mug and Tea Cup Exchange and wow does she ever have a huge turnout.  Please be sure to visit Enchanted Rose tomorrow and I can assure you that you will want to get in on the next exchange.   http://theenchantingrose.blogspot.com/ I just happened to be home the day this box arrived! Keep in mine that part of the excitement of being in an exchange like this is that you have no clue who you will be receiving a package from until it arrives. If you've ever participated in Secret Sisters then you get the idea.    As soon as I saw that pretty label at the top on the left I KNEW who my package had come from and I have got a confession to make.....The first words out of my mouth ...
