Happy May! I wanted to pop in and share a few pictures from my month of April which seemed to fly by quickly. As I am trying to catch up with my blogging friends today I realized it had been a month since I last posted. My mercy! But, I am so busy doing this thing we call life here on earth and enjoying every moment that I can. With my immediate family of 14 there is never a dull moment y'all! We had three family birthdays in April. My SIL David, granddaughter Adalynn and oldest granddaughter Raygen. Our favorite grandson Conner (only grandson) carried his girl to the prom. We had to snap at least one picture with Mom and Nana! Two of my elementary school friends and I get together at least once every 4-5 weeks so we went to breakfast and then to Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. We always have so much fun. The gardens are so beautiful that I couldn't even attempt to snap all the pictures I wanted. There are so many beautiful paintings to look at this but this was one of
Have you ever thought about what your Legacy will be someday? We will all leave a legacy of some sort – the question is what it
will be.
For some the word "legacy" means what ancestors leave a family in the form of wealth or material things. It also refers to the effect a person had on others while he or she was alive. For most the word "Legacy" is something that remains after we leave this world – something that speaks of our lives. For the Christian the word "Legacy" is actually much broader than wealth, personal items, kind words and deeds.
God’s desire is that we invest our life in a way that glorifies Him—to leave a "Legacy" that is far beyond anything because it has eternal significance.
This week we laid to rest my motherinlove, also known as Mama, Nanny, 2-Nanny and simply Nanny Conner. The legacy she left for her 4 children and their spouses, her 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren will go on from generation to generation. The way she loved her family was evident to all that knew her. But the way she loved Jesus will reach beyond those yet to be born simply because she left a legacy of "Jesus is the way and the truth and the life. No one goes to the Father except through Him".
I read this phrase once.....
“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”
My prayer is that I leave a legacy that will point others towards Christ. What kind of legacy will you leave?

ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful Saint! But how wonderful she left so much of herself with you all!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking more and more these days about the legacy that I will leave.
ReplyDeleteI heard a pastor say yesterday that this about someone who passed, "I never heard her say a negative word about anyone." I wish I could say that would be my legacy. Maybe some won't remember the bad as I grow in grace.
Prayers for you and your family and you face the says ahead and remember the legacy she left.

Oh, Cindy! What a timely post for me to read. I've been thinking about "legacies" all day. Thank you for your kind words in the loss of our young friend. So tragic - and yet - he never understood the influence - the legacy - he left behind. I hope I can compile some of his writings someday. Truly - we must spend our lives investing in God and pouring out into others. And, if possible . . . write it down for posterity!
