{It's A New Beginning Y'all}

  It's a tad late to wish a  Happy New Year but I sure hope that it's kicked off good for everyone. Ours kicked off with being so THANKFUL for what God has done and is doing. As I told my family as we were reminiscing over 2024, "There is a lot of 2024 I DO NOT WANT A RE-DO but the Lord has surely taught me so very much. I am truly thankful for each breath, each day, family and close friends. We had our three youngest grands for New Years Eve. We had a great time and the girls enjoyed a little fishing, bonfire with their great-grandfather and roasting marshmallows. Their great-grandfather will be 90 years old next month. As most of you know I do a monthly focus board and this makes my 3rd or 4th year. I've lost count. Only fitting that New Beginnings would be my focus for January. This has been so good for me as it sits on my kitchen counter so I can see it daily. Wonderful way to focus and quote God's Word daily.  I felt up to hosting a lunch and movie day with ...

Wednesday in the Word-Humbled

On the evening of Palm Sunday our church observed the Lord's Supper. Some people call it “Communion” some call itEucharist,” “Lord’s Supper,” “Lord’s Table,”or the “Last Supper". It depends on your religious affiliation to what you may call it but for me I simply call it "The Lord's Supper".

It's a time to reflect on what Jesus has done for us. I cannot participate in the Lord's Supper without crying.  For me it is such a humbling experience. When I think about what Christ done for me on the Cross I am truly humbled and to think that even if I'd been the ONLY person on the face of this earth He STILL would have given His life for just me! Overwhelming!

At my church before we partake of the Lord's Supper our Pastor has a time for us all to evaluate our personal life and have a time of cleansing our hearts in preparation for the Lord's supper. We're given a guide to help us with our evaluation and ample time to go through each one on the list. I can assure you that you cannot be in a relationship with Jesus and these questions not having meaning in your life. Will my answer be YES or NO and what do I need to get right with the Lord within my heart and soul.

After a personal time of reflection our Lord's Supper begins. Our Pastor reminds those in attendance that the Lord's Supper is for those that are saved. For those that are not saved he simply ask that you listen and watch. Then our Pastor humbly kneels before the Deacons attending to the Lord's Supper to serve them. For me, this reflects how our Lord came to serve and not be served. He then prays for each one of our Deacons that is participating. This is such a sweet and precious time for those of us in attendance of the Lord's Supper. Then scripture is read before the taking of the bread representing Christ's broken body. Again Scripture is read before drinking of the juice representing the blood of Christ.

Matthew 26:26-29

To think that Jesus took all of mankind's sin upon Himself and shed His blood for us is more than I can fathom. Imagining Him dying on a Cross at Calvary for ME is simply beyond my comprehension. It was a great time to have  the Lord's Supper as it prepared our hearts for Easter....Resurrection Sunday!

And of course Resurrection Sunday is just that! He arose from the grave and now sits on the right hand of the Father always interceding on our behalf.

Acts 1: 9-12 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,  who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Did you catch that.....He will come in a like manner as he left......in a cloud!

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says,

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:36 says "But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only".

There is coming a day when God will lean over and tell His only Son...."SON, GO GET MY CHILDREN".

  May we all be ready to meet our Lord!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

    1. He is coming back for sure isn't He my friend? Been reading your blog daily my friend. Loved the story you shared today. I stopped by a store recently for a diet coke and had change in my hand. Got up to the counter and liked 7 cents having enough. A man standing behind me said, I got you covered mam! Just the little things in life make me smile!

  3. I was raised a Methodist but joined the Catholic church several years ago. We say, "Lord, I am not worthy for you to enter under my roof, but if you say the word, I shall be healed." prior to receiving the Eucharist. As I reflect on that sentence, I too, am humbly brought to tears. What an awesome God, who has planned everything so perfectly, loves and gives his mercy to little old me! Thanks for sharing the check-list. Very good questions for personal devotion.

    1. Awe...how sweet for you to share with me as well. Yes, the questions for me and actually being quiet to listen to His voice as I read really gives me a wake up call. Thanks so much for your sweet words.

  4. Cindy, thank you so much for sharing about how the Lord's Supper is presented at your church. Ours is much the same, but I want to thank you for sharing the guide that your pastor gives for during your time of reflection. I clicked on the picture and enlarged it, then saved it to my hard drive. I love that whole concept.

    I am looking forward to pictures of your finished laundry room! :) I know it is going to be just gorgeous!

    1. Thanks Dianna! It is a humbling experience for me. I think what really humbles besides the Lord giving up His all for my all is seeing how humble our Pastor is with this presentation. Just melts my old heart! The laundry room seems to be slow going right now. One thing is the TIME needed and then there is always that little green thing that seems to want to get in the way! LOL! God is good though and I am learning to be patient!

  5. I like the way you explain this and the way you follow a written evaluation. That makes communion very special, I am sure. Wonderful thoughts!

  9. Hi Cindy, thank you for this beautiful post. It is a good lesson and reminder that we must always have our house in order as we do not know when the Lord will come. Thank you for sharing how your church does the Lord's Supper. We do communion very much the same and it is always a beautiful and special time. Wishing you a blessed weekend.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
