I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
Want your cake and eat it too? I am sure you've had that questioned asked before unh?
Most of us are like that at times aren't we? We want a nice home but we hate to pay property tax. We really like the idea of driving a nice vehicle but we don't want the car payment. We want all the pretty knick knacks for our home but we don't want to dust them. We just can't decide what side of the fence we want to be on! My Dr. recently told me something along these lines..."Mrs. Conner, when we're in our 20's and even 30's we can "shuffle the cards" up and pretty much let them fall where they may and get by with it but when get in our 40's and 50's that deck isn't "just" going to fall...it's going to crash if we're not careful".
That was his way of saying, "You can't eat like you used too and expect to gain no weight. You can't exercise and expect to have energy. You can't eat those spicy foods and expect to have no stomach problems". (and to think I paid him to tell me that!)
WELL...I think you get what he was saying............I DID! But now...the choices are mine!
It's kind of like choosing to live a life for Christ or not. Sometimes we want the best of both worlds. We want what the world has to offer and we want what Jesus has for us. For some...there is a foot in the church and a foot in the world. I call it "fence huggers". We hug that fence trying to decide which side we like the best. Out behinds are hanging off one side while our feet dangle on the other side.
WE MUST CHOOSE WHOM WE WILL SERVE....But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15 (NIV)
Riding the fence is called compromise...and compromise can be subtle, dangerous and even deadly!

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1st John 4:4 (NIV)
I hear people say, "If I choose to live life for Christ I can't have this and I can't do that and.......
Here is the thing: YOU CHOOSE CHRIST and I promise you He will take care of the (I can't's) We don't have to be perfect to come to Christ and choose to live for Him...we just need to be willing...and He will do the rest! We will never be perfect! I know of no one that is! But...I know this for a fact: Being a fence hugger will get you NO WHERE...
Choose today whom you will serve....now go on and get off that fence!
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Hey Cindy I've wrote on your blog before but not sure if you received it. I just wanted you to know what a BLESSING it is to read them. You've made me cry, laugh and realize about some things in my life that I need to change. A daily walk with God is so important for all of us. Thank you! Kim Taylor Rhoden
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post. I recently discovered some things that made me realize even more that people can be so deceiving. Matthew 7:21 - “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter." It's a sad thing that some people think it's "good enough" to go to church and get involved and put on a good show.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy! Wonderful post and you're so right. Sometimes we want both sides of the fence. As I grow older I so strive to stay on the Godly side! :) I was just about to type what Debbie did about how people 'go through the motions' of being a Christian but it's so sad beaucse works does not save us.
ReplyDeleteYou're such an inspiration and I pray God blesses you extra special today!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Cindy what an incredible post! I think this is such an issue today and what a wonderful way to make people think about which side they are really on. Thank you SO much for stopping by. I have been such a bad blogger and have not been around visiting at all. I would have hated to miss this for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh...and I LOVE "Through the Fire" by Jason Crabb, too!
ReplyDeleteLove this post Miss Cindy. Love how you use pictures to help with the analogy. And for the record...that cakes looks yummy! Nita B
ReplyDeleteGreat post Cindy! And everything is so true. Last week I had one of the most amazing, loving and reassuring moments with the Lord! I was praying and felt His Spirit touch me and calm me. I can't imagine not having His presence in my life! I hope you are having a wonderful week! Hugs, Diann :)
ReplyDeleteWHEW...what a post today! Riding the fence is a way of life for some. But sometimes God has to use force in our lives to help us choose! That is the sad part. Great post! God is using you to share His Word. Even if it does cut like a knife at times! But...then that what the Sword of the Spirit is to do isn't it? Wish I could take your class......Connie Royals
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes! A beautifully worded post.
