{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

  1. I remember every single one of those things, too!!! I used to hate those saddle oxfords cause my Mom wouldn't let me wear the penny loafers...said I "turned my shoes" and I must not could do that with the oxfords. I would love to have a pair now!!! ;-) And....I'm gonna see if there are any of the metal ice trays in Mamaw's estate stuff!!!

  2. Hi Cindy,
    I remember most of those things. I was 8 when I got my first record player. The Bunny Hop and Perry's Catch A Falling Star were the first records I had which my dad got for me. Loved those shoes although I never had a pair. A very fun post. Have a delightful day.

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  9. I remember everything you listed! I used to get good deals with S & H green stamps when the kids were little. Loved Conway & Loretta on my 8 track. But realistically, who looked THAT good in curlers and a hair net?? :) I loved my saddle oxfords. Wore them EVERYWHERE! Thanks for bringing back some fond memories today!

  10. I love your Happy Monday! It brought back a lot of great memories when times were simpler and seemed to be more worry free. I had wonderful childhood. My older brother always knew what was on TV and he handled it by informing us what was on and then even went as far as turning the channels when it was time to watch something else. LOL. He was and still is a great brother! I loved the beach movies and got to go to the theater every summer for 10 cent movies. My parents almost wouldn't let us go back when they got up to 25 cents. Ah, the good ole days! I thank God where He placed me. He gave me a wonderful family to enjoy those days with. Thanks for sharing these great memories.
    Love you,
    Brenda

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...
