I've shared with you that I am learning to slow down and be mindful of even the little things that I need to be thankful for. You know, those things in life that we all take for granite.

Like this little cheap humming bird feeder...not really the feeder but it's those little tiny humming birds that are so dang cute! I've often wondered about the "humming" of the humming bird as they are so darn fast like the "roadrunner" that it is more of a zing-zang sound. When I looked it up here is the answer I found.
Hummingbirds' wings flap so fast to enable them to hover,
creating a constant humming sound, it is only while they are
hovering in one place, that the sound is audible.
I am thankful for these little creatures that God has given us to enjoy!
Wish I could have gotten a picture of the humming birds.
They are too dang fast!

Awe yes, thankful that I am just now beginning to reap a few rewards from our little garden.

I know a lot of people are tired of rain but I am here to tell you that I am loving it...every single inch of it too! Our place has been so dry for so long that to me....this is pure liquid sunshine. So grateful that God has sent us rain our way.

Thankful for this little tree that has made it! This was a baby when my husband saw it growing on our property and when he dug it up he said, "This will probably never make it". Bless its little heart it was so tiny and fragile that I honestly thought it wouldn't survive either. A cousin was in the yard the day my husband was planting it and he laughed when he said, "That ugly little thing will never grow"......
Amazing how God will take little ugly sprigs and turn them into beautiful pieces for our enjoyment.

I too am so thankful for friends.....friends that love you in spite of yourself! Praise the Lord for friends.

This little wooden piece has been on my carport wall (as we come through the carport inside the house) since 1998. A sweet friend of mine, Andrea Crawford, gave this to me as Christmas gift that year as she was attending one of my Bible Study classes. It is beginning to look warn but it remains for all those that enter to see. I believe this little sign is a witness for our Lord all on its own!

And I am thankful for COFFEE! Yes, I said Coffee! Another one of those little things we take for granite...that is, until we run out and don't realize it! LOL!

What are you thankful for today my friend? We have so much to be thankful in our lives......so many gifts in our lives!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  1. I'm thankful for precious blogging friends!!!

  2. Lots to be thankful for, is right! Coffee is up there for me too!!!

  3. A neat Thankful list!" We bought some fresh home grown tomatoes in SC and I've been enjoying good tomato sandwiches!

Thank you for the sweet comment about my sister.

  4. Yes, so many things to be thankful for...and even those little things. Nita B

  5. I so agree Cindy. That was one of the reasons we took off for a vacation. Both Troy and I were feeling stressed and not thankful. We needed to step back and enjoy what we have and not worry about what is coming up.

  6. Cindy, it amazes me also how God has given us so many beautiful things on this eart for us to enjoy. Plants that in a matter of just a few months create the most amazing and fragrant blooms. I'd say we all have alot to be thankful for. I too love the rain. It makes everything look so fresh and green.
p.s. Can't wail till I can pick a ripe tomatoe from my garden.

  7. Learning to slow down... I really need this lesson. Is there a remedial class anywhere?!?!

I've finally picked up Ann Voskamp's book to read over the summer. Thanks for sharing your heart daily / weekly on your blog!
