{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Easter has come and gone but we sure have a great time with family. We gather each...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-Mary's Song

I've been reading "Why Nativity" by David Jeremiah. When I got to the chapter called, "Why the song of Mary", I had to stop and try to take it all in. The song is called, Magnificat, which means, "It magnifies". In earlier translations of the Bible, Mary's first words were rendered as, "My soul doth magnify the Lord."

We learn of us this song through scripture when Mary went to visit her cousin Elizabeth. When Elizabeth cried out in expression of joy Mary, having waited for days to share her amazing news that had come into her life, expressed a little joy of her own! She was carrying the Savior of this world!

Mary lifted her voice in a song of praise to a wonderful God.   I cannot almost hear Mary singing can't you?  Even in the midst of her carrying the Son of God in her womb, not knowing what tomorrow would hold, she praised Him! Even with her being a young woman, unmarried and a virgin, she praised Him! Even with her being the talk of the town, she praised Him!

We see through scripture that here our little Mary was a simple peasant girl, looking forward to her own wedding ceremony and then...without warning....without preparation, she was looking into the eyes an an angel hearing the good news! She would be the mother of the One and True Living God! And......................yet, not knowing, not totally understanding....not sure.....SHE PRAISED HIM!

Oh sweet one reading this today! No matter what is going on in your life.....Praise Him! No matter who has hurt you. Praise Him! No matter what others may say. Praise Him! No matter whether you know what tomorrow holds or not! You know who holds tomorrow! Praise Him!

Mary expressed through her song that the resources of God was unlimited! His strength makes all things possible, and His love is enough to PRAISE HIM!

  1. I think the phrase.... even if you do not know what tomorrow holds you know "who' holds tomorrow is what we all need to remember and draw comfort from.
    This post really made me think about what Mary really went through, she was a young girl, this would have been a devastating position to be in..yet she praised him...her faith was amazing and a good example to us

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
