{February Happenings}

  Well our February Florida weather is cool in the mornings, warm during the day and cool at night. Which to be honest, suits me! But, we can't have perfect weather that suits us all can we? This weather has had me in the baking mode though. I saved a few apples from our mountain trip and baked an apple bundt cake to freeze for a Sunday dinner sweet.  Decided to whip up a batch of Kitty's shortbread spritz cookies. They weren't as pretty as hers but oh they would melt in your mouth. Be sure to pop over to see her recipe.  https://www.kittyskozykitchen.com/2025/01/impossibly-easy-ham-and-swiss-pie-and.html#more I had some left over deer venison and decided to make a Venison and Penne Casserole. WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-OVERWHELMED

  Just daily life can overwhelm us at times can't it? We get to the end of our day and look at our 10 pages of to-d o list and we think to ourse lves "Will CALGONE reall y take me away?". Remem be r that commercial?  Just purchase a bo x of Calgone and sprinkle it in your bath water and it will take all your cares and worries aw ay!      Every time I would think about this picture of this beautiful woman just soaking in a tub of bubbles, h er makeup perfect and looking like she was on top of the world I just wanted to dunk her under that water!  Sometimes I am afraid it takes a little more than Calgone to take away the daily stresses of life. Sometimes we put stress on ourselves by adding things to our list simply becau se we are people pleasers! We can't or we haven't learned to say NO!   Tip:  Did you know that according to most health-re lated phys icians that sometimes (not all the time) a depressed state of mind is b...

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD-TRUST

Awe...it feels good to be back to blogging a little. Not sure how much blogging I will do but hopefully I can at least keep up with my Wednesday in the Word! I do love it.   I do want to send out a great big THANK YOU for those of you that have expressed to me in such a personal way that I was missed! You will never know what that has meant to me! T HANK YOU !   I was working on my Bible study for this week and wouldn't you know it? It is basically on Trusting God. We are so quick to say to ourselves and to others that YES we do trust God but I am afraid that if we were to be truthful that most of us are by " Totally Tr usting " God like we are a smorgasbord at a restaurant. We like to pick and choose what we really Trust Him with.  The real issue of the matter is that we want to control!  Control is the se cret ad ultress to good intent! Think about it! We really have good intentions but just like a robber hiding in a dark closet, control ambush...
