{Hello friends}

  Hoping this finds my sister bloggers doing well on this windy Sunday afternoon. Yep, we've got a little wind howling around here and a tad cool but I am enjoying a lazy afternoon. My Sunday lunch crowd (my family) have left for the day so I am kicked back. Sunday menu today consisted of: Chicken and dressing Giblet gravy Italian green beans with ham Mac & Cheese Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache.  Yep, they are little spoiled at Nana's house. I am not a huge fan of cakes with icing but it must have been good as one of the grands had two slices.  These gals and I have been friends for more years than I remember and since we've all retired within a few months apart in retirement and age (dating back to 4th grade in school) we try to get together once every 4-6 weeks. We always do something extra for our birthdays but was a tad late celebrating mine this year together due to other appointments that was a must. We always have a gr...

Make Me Smile Monday-Marshmallow Pops

How about some marshmallow pops to start your Monday off? The kids and grands will love them.... EASY PEASY ....Let's get started! I found these cute straws at the Dollar store and decided to use them. They served two purposes...They would hold the marshmallow and then after the kids ate the marshmallow pop they could keep the straw! PRETTY SMART HUH?   Buy a pack of Jumbo marshmallows.   Place a marshmallow on the straw (or pop stick) Insert the stick a little more than half way through the marshmallow for a good hold. Lay to side. Now I wanted to be a little creative so decided to go with red, white and blue.... Bought a three compartment size plastic container from the Dollar Tree, a Patriotic plastic tablecloth and I already had some Styrofoam.  I cut the styrofoam down just a tad to fit the trays and wrapped each piece with my plastic tablecloth. Now I am ready to melt my white chocolate. I bought Candiquick. You can use regular ...

Let's Talk Thursday-Part 2

I should have named this post "2nd round of questions and answers". But it's so fun to do this with bloggers as it gives us a way to get to know one another better doesn't it? If you missed my first round of questions see post http://creationsbycindyphotography.blogspot.com/2014/05/talk-to-me-thursday.html So let's get started.... Have you always had short hair? No. Actually I had long hair for a long time. Matter of fact at one point it was almost down to my behind! But as I begin to cut it I kept getting shorter and shorter! NOW , I love my maintenance free short hair to be honest! Do you really wear makeup and jewelry when deer hunting with your husband? YES! You never know who might be looking at you! AND ....If I get me a big old Buck I gotta look for my picture now don't I? I even have some bling on my boots! And a camo tube of lipstick! Would you rather watch television or read in your spare time? I would rather read. I wou...

Wednesday in the Word-And She Prays...

You talk about melting a Nana's heart ????? Well this picture did just that. My daughter snapped this of our youngest grandbaby, age 3 at Vacation Bible Study. My heart just gets all in a mess when I look at this picture. I can't help but wonder....what was she praying for? What words came out of her little mouth? What seemed to be her thoughts? But the fact remains.... She was praying!   Some people I am sure would say, " SHE IS ONLY THREE! What does she know? Now they have not said that to me personally as that would probably not be the wisest thing to say to a Middle Aged, Menopausal Nana that could go WACK ON CRACK on you QUICK like about one of the grands! My children can defend for themselves... MY GRANDS? A whole another story! LOL! The fact remains.... SHE WAS PRAYING! You see, not only has she been taught in Nursery, Sunday School, in Children's Church, and at her grandparent's home to pray....but she has been taught at HOME! May that never ...

Tuesday Toots-Recipe and Tutorial

How about pickled banana peppers and pickled jalapeno peppers? I do believe this picture needs to go on the front of a magazine don't you? I just love it! And this one..... Loved these 1/2 pint cute jars! I decided to use the 1/2 pint jars for the peppers. I washed jars, lids and seals in hot soapy water and let them dry. Decided I would do some pepper rings and some half peppers. Washed the peppers, got all the seeds out and washed them again. (Recipe at end of post) Cut and diced like I wanted. I also used the same recipe for the Jalapeno peppers. I done a few rings and some half peppers. Garlic... YUM! I use one garlic per jar. You actually would use 1/2 of a pod of garlic per jar but we like a little more garlic so I went with it! Picking and Canning Salt. Vegetable oil. Turmeric Spice Now after your jars has dried fill your jars with your peppers. For half pint jars add 1/2 tsp. of oil and 1/2 tsp. of Pickling and Canning Sal...

They were going home actually and with their GROWN CHILDREN! LOL! And if you really want to smile try you some of these! YUM! Watching my grandbabies singing for the Lord surely makes me smile! This big ole catfish caught out of my pond really made me smile---especially after he came out of the frying pan! My daughter sent this picture to me and I love it.
