{May Has Arrived}

  I sure hope that your May has kicked off to a good start. The heat is settling in quick around our parts.  We've kicked off May with watching our softball girls win the District. Next week we start another round of ball. It's so much fun to watch these girls and especially our girl, Mallory. She plays centerfield.  We were so proud of both teams that played against each other. They all, hand in hand gathered together as one of our girls prayed for the game and also for one of our young men that was in a horrific car accident and fighting. His name is Kaden if you can think to lift him up to our Lord.  I had the opportunity recently to speak to a group of women at a ladies luncheon event at a local church. Oh we had so much fun. I wished I had gotten pictures of the beautiful decorations. We had a TEA PARTY and we each kept the cup that we drank out of it.  Isn't she just lovely? Wednesday in the Word-Just enough Light...




Have you ever been in a position that when your lights went out that you found yourself searching for candles to light? You have candles on hand but needless to say you cannot remember where they have been placed. You finally find a candle for the living room and you light it. A few minutes later you decide you need to find your watch to keep up with the time and it's in the bedroom in the dark and you cannot see. So, you take your one candle and you slowly let that one little light lead your next step as you slowly walk to the bedroom.  The whole time you are taking baby steps in the dark and you are finding that the light from the candle IS JUST ENOUGH LIGHT FOR THE STEP YOU ARE ON.

In reading Stormie Omartian's book......"Just enough light for the step I'm on"  sure says a lot for us.

She says in one of her chapter's the following; Whenever we go through difficult times, we anticipate the coming moment when all the pressure is off, the worry has subsides, the healing has manifested, the sadness has lifted, and the pain is gone. We continuously look for God to take away the discomfort we are experiencing. But God wants us to know that even as we wait for those changes to happen, His light is there all the time shining into our darkness. He wants us to trust that, and open our eyes to see it.

The Bible says in Revelation 21:23; "The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is the light. 

 Just as we trust the light of that one candle to show us the way step by step we must trust Christ to show us the way, step by step. After all, He is our Light! And He is ENOUGH light for the step we're on regardless of how hard that next step may be.

    Great analogy Cindy. I don't read a whole lot but actually read that book when she first came out with it as I was going through a difficult season in my life. Your post has been a great reminder for me. Connie Royals

    OMG! I thought power went out only, (and just sometimes) in third world countries. Anyway, we have a power motor in our building...BUT, yes God is my main light, so I don't care when it goes away and there were no power motor in the past either, but God has been there, shining to me, my family and all of us!

    I have been through those seasons of step by step light more than once in my life. It seems that the older I get, the more frequent they are. I love the picture you drew from the candle. You are so right, and God is so faithful.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. {March Is Underway}

  Welcome to March! The little grands and I kicked off March with a sleepover at Nana's house. They are so much fun and so energetic. COFFEE has earned my love forever for sure! LOL!  We started out with a sack lunch from Burger King (their favorite) and headed to a cute little park that is only about 2 miles from where I live. The girls has so much fun. The girls put in for Nana to ride the horsey. Well, y'all know I had to show those littles that Nana still can do that!!! Two of the girls wanted to play with the old Halloween wigs but the youngest one opted out. She said it made her head itch. LOL!  We had a tea party for breakfast. Our tea party consisted of smoked sausage, peaches and chocolate chip cookies. Yummy to my tummy the youngest one said! I finally got around to making myself a healthy fruity Icee. I made the girls snow cones out of the same healthy fruits. Guess I needed too so they wouldn't be so hyped up from all the cookies when returning home. Hee-hee!...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day.
