{Hello friends}

  Hoping this finds my sister bloggers doing well on this windy Sunday afternoon. Yep, we've got a little wind howling around here and a tad cool but I am enjoying a lazy afternoon. My Sunday lunch crowd (my family) have left for the day so I am kicked back. Sunday menu today consisted of: Chicken and dressing Giblet gravy Italian green beans with ham Mac & Cheese Homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and chocolate ganache.  Yep, they are little spoiled at Nana's house. I am not a huge fan of cakes with icing but it must have been good as one of the grands had two slices.  These gals and I have been friends for more years than I remember and since we've all retired within a few months apart in retirement and age (dating back to 4th grade in school) we try to get together once every 4-6 weeks. We always do something extra for our birthdays but was a tad late celebrating mine this year together due to other appointments that was a must. We always have a gr...

Wednesday in the Word-Tea time with God

I love hot tea. Do you? I like all kinds of flavored teas and I can't say that any one in particular is my favorite but for some reason I've always found hot tea to be soothing to the soul. So pull up a chair and have a cup of tea with me today and let's share a devotional from one my favorite devotional books called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. In a world of unrelenting changes, I am the One who never changes. I am the Alpha and the Omega , the First and the Last , the Beginning and the End . (Revelation 22:13) Find in Me the stability for which you have yearned. I created a beautifully ordered world; one that reflects My perfection. Now, however, the world is under bondage of sin and evil. Every person on the planet faces gasping jaws of uncertainty. The only antidote to this poisonous threat is drawing closer to Me . In My presence you can face uncertainty in perfect Peace . (John 16:33) It is so good to kno...

Fish Dish and Fresh Bread

I want to show you a quick and easy fish dish to make on the grill along with fresh wholesome bread. VERY GOOD! In my hometown we have a Smart Market owned and operated by some of our locals. Needless to say you can get all sorts of goodies there but they also have fresh seafood. I purchased two pieces of mahi mahi. They were nice size fillets. I seasoned them with Old Bay seasoning, tossed a few sliced lemons on them and sat aside.  I had some potatoes so washed a few and sliced them up. I also had a frozen pack of veggies (carrots, cauliflower and broccoli). Thawed them out and sat aside. So then I decided since I had plenty of time I would make a fresh loaf of wholesome bread; recipe from my friend Johnna Duke. I picked a little parsley, dill and a pinch of rosemary from my herb garden. I washed it, dried and then diced it up. Grabbed a few jalapenos from the frig. Can't wait for my jalapenos in my garden  to get ready. I make the best poppers EVER !...

Child Like Faith-Wednesday in the Word

To me there is something that is so magical about a child. Their innocence for one but their simplicity of life and their unwavering faith speaks volumes to me.  They Trust...    Children know how to trust without hesitancy .   Children are TRANSPARENT   They are not good at hiding their flaws but they QUICK to confess their wrongs. Children are CAREFREE... They can focus and marvel in the moment because they are not entangled by the complications and distractions of this life. Children are INSISTENT. They never tire of asking questions and learning. Children are SPONTANEOUS... Children are always game for a new adventure. They do not want to put off until tomorrow what they believe can be done today.   Children are IMAGINATIVE... Children see possibilities where many may see problems. Children are JOYFUL ... A child’s joy is not so much based on the circumstances about them as it is in the people they lo...

How about a Cup of Tea?

I love Tea parties don't you?   This past Sunday afternoon some of the girls in the family got together and had a tea party to honor the memory of my motherinlove that walks the streets of gold with the Lord but she sure did love her a tea party.  It was so much fun. A time of laughter, sharing sweet and funny memories and of course....Food, dessert and  TEA!    We had the table set so pretty. Every tea pot and tea cup was different and it made it all the more beautiful! We had beautiful floral arrangements everywhere! You had the choice of what flavor tea you would like. I am a fan of hot tea so I enjoyed several different flavors! We displayed my sweet motherinlove's prom dress . She would have been 77 on May 10th. Just beautiful! We had a display of tea cups with tea favors for everyone to take home including a picture of my motherinlove. The picture was taken 7 years ago when we celebrated h...
