Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I love hot tea. Do you? I like all kinds of flavored teas and I can't say that any one in particular is my favorite but for some reason I've always found hot tea to be soothing to the soul.
So pull up a chair and have a cup of tea with me today and let's share a devotional from one my favorite devotional books called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.
In a world of unrelenting changes, I am the One who never changes. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:13)
Find in Me the stability for which you have yearned. I created a beautifully ordered world; one that reflects My perfection.
Now, however, the world is under bondage of sin and evil. Every person on the planet faces gasping jaws of uncertainty.
The only antidote to this poisonous threat is drawing closer to Me.
In My presence you can face uncertainty in perfect Peace. (John 16:33)
It is so good to know within the depths of my soul that no matter what happens in this world that I can have perfect peace through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. And oh I do need thee every hour....every minute, every second and every breath I take.
Just as a cup of hot tea can soothe my soul so does the Word of the Living God.
Have a cup of hot tea today my friend and allow Him to soothe your soul.

I never have cared for hot tea Cindy but I sure do like your pretty tea display.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Thanks Connie. I used to NOT like hot tea either but now I love it! I think getting older has got me to liking lots of things! LOL!
DeleteI love that vase and I'm always up for a cup of tea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. That old vase is a tin can that I covered with paper but has served me well. Maybe one day we can have a cup of tea together!
DeleteVery comforting post because it is certainly true that if it isn't the Middle East, it's Texas or Baltimore or right next door... Very pretty vase and flowers...I'm sipping peppermint tea today.
ReplyDeleteThanks Vee for stopping by. Peppermint tea is good too!
ReplyDeleteI read Jesus Calling often because I feel His presence so very close. I wonder if it is one of the most popular devotionals? I am so blessed by it. I discovered Lady Earl Grey for caffeine and my favorite herbal is chamomile just before bed!
ReplyDeleteLove this post!
Hugs,
Mary
Lifeway told me recently that Jesus Calling has been their absolute best seller! I had a lady tell me today Mary that she drinks a cup of Sleepy time tea every night before bed. Thanks for stopping by,
DeleteGod's Word has brought both comfort and conviction to me. I do wish I could share a cup of tea....coffee....hot chocolate....or even water with you, my Friend! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMiss you Debbie!
DeleteWould love to come have a cup of hot tea with you and share God's Word. He certainly is the Great Soother!
ReplyDeleteMiss Mary, wouldn't it be great if we could have tea together one day? I would love it!
DeleteI have always loved tea, Cindy, and I love your photos here! If you are able to get Twinings Jasmine and Earl Grey (the leaves, not in the tea bags), and you have a tea strainer, if you can make yourself a cup of these two teas together, this is very nice! Please be advised though the Earl Grey does contain caffeine, so you may wish to drink it in the morning or early afternoon. I have had Earl Grey and Jasmine many times and they go great together! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the teas. I will have to try those two combinations.
DeleteThis was so beautiful and I needed to read this today. I just found out that my breast surgeon who I have been following with for two years (cyst issues) Has pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. I have been devastated and so torn up inside for her and her family. Please include her in your prayers. Her name is Teresa Flippo. She is an amazing Doctor and is only in her mid 50's. I can't stop thinking about her each and every second and praying so hard. She can use all the prayers you have. xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh my Debbie. I am so sorry to hear this news. I am praying right now and asking God to give her strength. This is devastating. We lost my sweet motherinlove to a liver disease this past Oct. and it is so hard. Only Hope we have is in Christ. Thinking of you today and asking our Lord to keep you in His tender care.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy, this is a special post and thank you for sharing your time and soothing tea. Our Lord really does give peace for the soul and without him we would be lost. I love vanilla chai tea too and drink it just about everyday. Love your pretty pics to go with your post.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings, CM
Thank you so much for stopping by.
DeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for always stopping by!! I am playing catch up...work just gets in the way of everything that I want to do...LOL!!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Thanks Sweet Lady for popping in.
DeleteThank you for sharing this devotion. I read Jesus Calling as part of my devotions every morning. What a wonderful promise - His peace! Where would we be without it in this world of uncertainty and constant change?
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Without Him we would be nothing for sure sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteGod's Word and His love for us all comforts me beyond expression! You know I am a cancer survivor and without Him, I would have, could not have ever survived. Aren't we so blessed, so fortunate, so grateful to know Him and that He gives us just what we need!
ReplyDeleteWarm Hugs,
Jemma
