{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

Wednesday in the Word-Tea time with God

I love hot tea. Do you? I like all kinds of flavored teas and I can't say that any one in particular is my favorite but for some reason I've always found hot tea to be soothing to the soul.

So pull up a chair and have a cup of tea with me today and let's share a devotional from one my favorite devotional books called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.

In a world of unrelenting changes, I am the One who never changes. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:13)

Find in Me the stability for which you have yearned. I created a beautifully ordered world; one that reflects My perfection.

Now, however, the world is under bondage of sin and evil. Every person on the planet faces gasping jaws of uncertainty.

The only antidote to this poisonous threat is drawing closer to Me.

In My presence you can face uncertainty in perfect Peace. (John 16:33)

It is so good to know within the depths of my soul that no matter what happens in this world that I can have perfect peace through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. And oh I do need thee every hour....every minute, every second and every breath I take.

Just as a cup of hot tea can soothe my soul so does the Word of the Living God.
Have a cup of hot tea today my friend and allow Him to soothe your soul.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  5. I read Jesus Calling often because I feel His presence so very close. I wonder if it is one of the most popular devotionals? I am so blessed by it. I discovered Lady Earl Grey for caffeine and my favorite herbal is chamomile just before bed!

    Love this post!

  8. I have always loved tea, Cindy, and I love your photos here! If you are able to get Twinings Jasmine and Earl Grey (the leaves, not in the tea bags), and you have a tea strainer, if you can make yourself a cup of these two teas together, this is very nice! Please be advised though the Earl Grey does contain caffeine, so you may wish to drink it in the morning or early afternoon. I have had Earl Grey and Jasmine many times and they go great together! :)

  9. This was so beautiful and I needed to read this today. I just found out that my breast surgeon who I have been following with for two years (cyst issues) Has pancreatic cancer that has spread to her liver. I have been devastated and so torn up inside for her and her family. Please include her in your prayers. Her name is Teresa Flippo. She is an amazing Doctor and is only in her mid 50's. I can't stop thinking about her each and every second and praying so hard. She can use all the prayers you have. xoxo

  10. Oh my Debbie. I am so sorry to hear this news. I am praying right now and asking God to give her strength. This is devastating. We lost my sweet motherinlove to a liver disease this past Oct. and it is so hard. Only Hope we have is in Christ. Thinking of you today and asking our Lord to keep you in His tender care.

  11. Hi Cindy, this is a special post and thank you for sharing your time and soothing tea. Our Lord really does give peace for the soul and without him we would be lost. I love vanilla chai tea too and drink it just about everyday. Love your pretty pics to go with your post.

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
