{March is well under way}

February days are now gone and March has officially kicked in.   I finally purchased a new monthly focus board.  We ventured out for a day date which included a movie. I love our day dates. I will give my honest review about the movie for those interested. I wanted to see this movie as it was based on a true story. I did enjoy the movie but oh my, it was a tear jerker from the get go! It ended good but mercy! Let's just say that I am thankful that no one was sitting close enough to see my tear stained face. I am glad that I saw it but I am good for a while on sad movies, even if they do end good!   My oldest daughter, her husband and their son participated in the Spartan race which is a series of obstacle courses that challenge. They done so well. As you can see from the pictures it gets pretty muddy!  My three daughters participate each year in the Gate River Run. I love it that they do this together. They have so much support & encouragement from all the onlookers. I am just

Wednesday in the Word-Random Acts Of Kindness

It is amazing what a simple act of kindness can do for another person isn't it? We are living in times that the motto is "Do for yourself", "Never be on the giving end but take all that you can take". Or better yet... "I've NO time to show kindness to others".
 There are so many different ways to show ACTS of KINDNESS that hardly take a lot of effort. Acts of kindness doesn't have to cost a ton of money. Acts of kindness can merely be the most simple thing in life but yet make the most impact.

Sometimes an act of kindness can simply be a hug, a pat on the back, or words of affirmation. Acts of kindness can be taking just a few minutes of your time to call a person just to see how they are doing or sending them a card to simply say, "Thinking about you today". A lot of times the greatest act of kindness is sharing ourselves with someone else.

In Matthew 10:42  Jesus speaks of sharing a cup of water. He isn’t speaking of just sharing a drink with someone. He’s talking about sharing ourselves; the practicality of living a Christian life; a life of relationships, both with God and with people. He’s talking about the humble act of giving a piece of ourselves to others.
 We never know how God can use just one simple act of kindness to speak volumes to another person's heart. It's the simple acts of kindness that has the most lasting effect!

 Random acts of kindness are a means by which we make a deliberate attempt to brighten another person's day by doing something thoughtful, nice, and caring. Kindness is a way of showing others that they count.

What act of kindness have you shown lately to another?

 If you are too busy to show kindness to others....then you are TOO BUSY!

Our earthly acts of kindness my friend can be an eternal blessing for others!

Speaking of kindness I was a recipient of another person's kindness this week. Matter of fact...this act of random act of kindness came "just when I needed it".

I had a package waiting on me when I got home.

 As soon as I saw the return address I knew it was from my "across the miles" sister in the Lord and blogging friend Debbie. We've been friends for a long time now. On one of my mountain trips Deb and I met for coffee and a long visit and needless to say our spirit's "just clicked". Spirit knows Spirit! We pray for one another, lift each other up when needed and well, we just love each other with a sisterly love.

 The suspense of "what's inside this tissue paper" didn't linger either I can tell you!

As soon as I saw her card I knew she had made me something!!!

BEAUTIFUL! It matched my kitchen perfectly.

Don't you just love my dish towel?

Thank you Debbie for your act of kindness! And this act of kindness was a pure labor of love!

 Make a delebrate effort today to show kindness to someone! It's easy.
Just be KIND!

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  8. Cindy,
    I am really enjoying your midweek devotionals-such a blessing to me to have met you. As Christian women it is so important to stay connected and uplift one another. My heart overflowed when I saw the card and precious dish towel. Women being kind to other women, one of the sweetest gifts there is.
    Have a lovely and Blessed evening,

    1. Thank you Jemma. It is truly a blessing to stay connected and encourage one another. I just shared that tonight in our ladies class at church. So important that we be an encourager. We never know the depth of one act of kindness.

  9. Your words are true and we need more kindness especially in the Body of Christ since we do, in fact, represent Him! Love your little gift and it's the perfect example! Hope it's contagious and we all think of something we can do or say to be kind to others (especially the ones that are hard to love.)

    I love your spirit, dear lady!

  10. What a pretty towel, Cindy! This is such a great post, and it reminds me of when my parents died in the 1980's. (my mother died in 1983 and my father died in 1984). Members of the church were so kind and made several meals for my (then) husband and I. One lady brought a plate of lasagna, another lady brought a whole chicken that she roasted and yet another lady brought a fruit salad. I can't begin to tell you how much these acts of kindness meant to me.

  12. It seems I'm always catching up lately! I love your new dishtowel. What a sweet gift! Yes, I have done a random act of kindness that might seem like nothing to most folks. At the end of a girlfriend campout last week one of the new-to-the-group gals was having some trouble with her car. She lives not far from me, so I offered to follow her home - about two hours north on the freeway. It might seem like a small thing but when a gal is towing a trailer and having car concerns, it's a good thing! She did fine and I found that I loved traveling with her. There was an accident on the freeway ahead of us part way home. As traffic began to slow, she pulled into an exit lane to a rest stop area and I went right behind her. Imagine my surprise when we parked and found that one of the other gals from the weekend was already there! We decided to wait for traffic to start moving again - so we got food from our trailers and had a picnic together at a table under a big tree! She provided a tablecloth and 'real' plates and silverware from her trailer. What began as a random act of kindness on my part ended up being a treasured time for each of us. And her act of kindness to set a lovely picnic table was like frosting on the cake!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a yard

{Another Fun Filled Weekend}

I hope you all are doing well. I am trying to wind down for the night and thought I would try and get a post out. Girls, by this time I am in my fat clothes and recliner smashing that remote control!   Marty and I kicked off our weekend by having a little fun food as I call it,  "charcuterie" style out by the pond. Of course I always fix more than we need or eat but it sure was good.  Two of our granddaughters had dance recitals over the weekend so we got to watch them perform and oh my! They were just the cutest things ever.  We were blessed to be able to see them perform. Then we celebrated a birthday for this sweet grandgirl! She was excited about being double digits . And besides all the fun from the weekend I was able to see some of my pretties in bloom.  Now to enjoy a cup of coffee.... I hope that you all have a wonderful, blessed week.  Hugs and blessings, Cindy

{Happy 46th Wedding Anniversary To Us}

  Happy October everyone! I wanted to pop in today and share a few pictures. Marty and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary on September 23.  Oh it seems so long ago that we said "I Do". We started dating when I was 16. Married at 18 and began a family at 20. Needless to say we have surely grown up together. Praise the Lord that we are growing "Older" together.  We decided since it had been about 8-9 years since we had been to Savannah, Ga. that we would take a weekend there and just enjoy a scenic luncheon cruise.  We enjoyed walking River street and sightseeing, shopping and eating of course! It was a nice get away and perfect for us as we are simply two imperfect people that fit perfectly together.  I did spot Santa while in Savannah though! YES, I love Christmas so I had to stop at several Christmas shops! We've had outings that have kept us quite busy and we have surely been blessed to be able to attend our grands functions and our little outings toget
