I hope that you all have enjoyed this beautiful Easter Sunday. He is risen! I wanted to end the month of March in sharing a few of my favorite photos from the month. Celebrated my favorite grandsons birthday. Conner is 18 now! Our beautiful Mallory Grace all decked out for the prom. The youngest grands (sisters) were flower girls in their uncle's wedding. The oldest one was in her element of dress up. The younger one, not so much. THAT HAIR BAND ITCHED HER HEAD she said! I purchased a new pair of wedges that I love. I am always skeptical about ordering shoes or clothing but read the reviews on Amazon and went for it. Love the color and the style. The youngest grand loves to take selfies and play with the filters. Marty colored Easter eggs. He always colors at least a dozen every year. He always says he's doing it for the grands but I know he does it because of the inner child in him! LOL! I went with the little ones to Disney on Ice and we had the best time. I think I enjo
We spent this past weekend just goofing on and doing what we wanted to do...every now and then one needs to do just that right? Especially when the trip involved a yard sale at a local fairground in Jesup, Ga. with lots of goodies....
When I first saw this yard sale advertised it was the first of April so I decided that the yard sale in Jesup, Ga would be on my list of things to do.
We headed out pretty early and stopped at this little country restaurant for breakfast. I have to throw some dibs in there for them....GREAT FOOD AT A GREAT PRICE. If you are ever traveling through Nahunta, Ga be sure to stop.
Good breakfast and several cups of coffee and here we go....
Of course the first thing I spied was this cutie. Needless to say it wasn't for sale as it was used to display necklaces. However the young lady told me that she had more people wanting to buy her shabby chick candelabra that she had painted and attached pillar candles too than her necklaces!
(I see one of these little DIY cuties in the makings for me)
And as with any yard sale one man's junk is another man's treasure...or should I say woman!
And I think the clothes sold right off this feller...Hee-hee!
We shopped at the Big Yard Sale for a few hours and then I spotted another little stop to make.
I did find me some goodies on my trip. (of course you didn't think that I wouldn't now did you?)
First purchase was these blue and white dishes. I have blue and white dishes that belonged to my grandmother and motherinlove so these will go nicely with my collection.
I already have my sugar, creamer and sweetener set up and ready.
(don't ya just love the little creamer?)
Another blue and white piece.
Aren't these adorable?
This was so pretty to me.
The detail etched on the glass was really pretty.
Awe...yes! This sweetie came home with me too. I've already had a cup of coffee in it and a hot cup of tea!
A few pieces of jewelry came home with me as well.Several of these pieces will be used to make something else....my mind is churning and that can be dangerous!
This cute little beach sign will be used when I do my Beach Tablescape this summer. Right now I am just letting it be a reminder that our family beach trip for a week will be coming up in August! YAY!
Found these two cute little boxes. I've already got for ideas for both. I see some chalk paint going on soon....
Yep...loved my loot.
We had a full weekend no doubt with shopping, eating out and just enjoying some time away. We visited St. Simon's Island, Little St. Simon Island and went to beach at Jekyll Island.
It doesn't look like it in this picture but from a distance this bridge looked like a sail boat.
Beautiful scenery.
Another great place to eat especially if you are wanting fresh sea food is Captain's Joe's.
Not sure what I was more impressed with...the food or the price! Not often you come across a seafood platter for two which ours consisted of salmon, flounder, calamari, oysters, shrimp, hush puppies and baked potato. Included in the price was a soup and salad bar that was all you could eat and tea plentiful for $42! AND we had so much left over that we carried it home to make another meal! The service was excellent and that is major plus in my book!
I hope that you have enjoyed my little weekend getaway with me. It was so much fun.

What fun!! Love all your treasures and I know you enjoyed time with Mr. Marty. Yes, we all need some time away.
ReplyDeleteIt was lots of fun Deb. I am already looking at another getaway! LOL!
DeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful time didn't you!! I would so enjoy an outing like this and oh the food, haven't had a really good fried oyster or shrimp dinner in a very long time. I had an Aunt who lived in Moorehead City in North Carolina, it was years ago and I remember enjoying some of the best hush puppies ever along the Atlantic coast! You certainly found a treasure trove of beauties!
Warm Hugs,
Jemma
We did have a great time and the seafood was the best I've had in a long time. Thanks for stopping by!

Your stop at Captain Joe's reminds me of a place that our son took us when he lived in NC between Lake Norman and Charlotte. I've NEVER had hush puppies that good since! :)
Have a great weekend, my sweet friend.
Thanks Dianna. We had so much fun!

ReplyDeleteCindy, what a fun weekend you had. Love all of the treasures you brought home! The blue and white dishes are especially gorgeous. Both restaurants sound like great places. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

What fun! You found some real treasures. I have a good friend who lives in Brunswick - I could have visited her and started the yard sale there, then worked my way down to where you were! She used to live on St. Simons Island and I spent a week there with her with a visit to Jekyll Island. Your photos brought back happy memories. Sometime I hope my sweetheart and I can visit your part of the world. We will let you know when that is planned - maybe there will be a big yard sale again!
