Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I decided to go ahead several weeks ago and do a little 4th of July tablescape so I could actually enjoy it. But...here July 4th is right around the corner and I feel like I have just put my dishes out!!! Half of 2016 is gone!!! Can you believe that?
Found this cute basket at Walmart and spray painted it red. Also found the cute flowers there as well. Simple but cute centerpiece .
Simple centerpiece on a burlap runner.
I wanted to incorporate my grandmother's cups and saucers into the red, white and blue theme for July 4th.
Worked out great with my red chargers from Hobby Lobby and my white plates which was either a yard sale or thrift store purchase I can assure you. (LOL)
YEP really simple...
I forgot I had made this cute little wreath last year but I'm glad I found it.
A little more patriotic going on.........You gotta have an apple somewhere in the midst of July 4th!
Found this cutie at AC MOORE. When I went to check out the cashier told me it was marked down to $5!!! WHAT? I paid for my purchase and went back to grab three more for my three daughters and needless to say there was NONE left!
But, if I don't keep an eye on this it will go missing....I have one daughter and I am not calling any names....butMelissa loves to think what is MINE is HERS! LOL!
God bless America....Land that I love!
And...I just had some Nana time with these two sweethearts.
It just doesn't get any better than your family!
So what kind of plans do you all have for July 4th? Whatever your plans may we remember to ENJOY and make lots of MEMORIES!
A friend said once......."Remember to make lots of memories because one day they will keep you company".

Don't you just love using little boxes for things? They are so versatile.
I always love the opportunity to use my red dishes when I can.

You really have your patriotism going on, love the wreath and your table setting has adorable details.
Just look at your sweet little grandbaby! Looks like she did not loose any of that wonderful head of hair! She and so are all of your other grands precious blessings!

Thanks Jemma. No that sweet baby hasn't lost much of her hair. Thanks for your sweet comments.
DeleteAwwww I just wanna love on that grandbaby, Cindy!!! What great finds, the only thing I have done so far is the wreath and that is on Tuesdays post, if you like to see it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the many smiles you bring...have a beautiful day, friend.
I did look at your wreath and loved it! You done well working with the mesh girl! Thanks for stopping by to see me today.
DeleteCindy the girls are adorable. I can't believe how much the baby has grown. Your table may be simple to you but for me that would be a lot. But remember, I do good to drag out a paper plate much less all those cute things. LOL!
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
LOL Connie! But you do have a cute cake plate you can put out....with some cake!!! Ha!
DeleteLove the tablescape and how you mix and match everything! My kind of decorating. I also love to decorate patriotically over the summer. Grandbabies are all so cute! Lucky you getting some one on one time with the littlest! We usually go to our town's parade and barbecue on the 4th.
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. I really wanted to do more patriotic but time has a way of slipping from me these days!
DeleteYour tablescapes are ALWAYS beautiful. Love all things patriotic. Wouldn't it be so much fun to get together and craft? We'd be laughing and crafting and praying...and I'd be hogging that sweet baby girl if she was there. 😊 Happy Wednesday, sweet Friend.
ReplyDeleteAwe thanks Deb. Well good luck on holding the new baby girl if you had the chance! My other daughters are baby hogs along with the other grandchildren! LOL! She is sweet though. YES...we would have a great day together there is no doubt in my mind! Gotta a feeling we'd do more talking!!!
DeleteHi Cindy, Oh I love that last quote!! So true isn't it? Such sweetness in your darling baby grand and the older girls. All so cute. Love your patriotic table. What a gorgeous setting to celebrate the 4th of July!! Wonderful wreath too. You sure found a deal on the AC Moore treasure. Love it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings for a great rest of June and Happy Summer dear friend. xo
Thanks my friend. I love to go into AC Moore...never know what you might find that is marked down to very little money!
DeleteHi sweet Cindy! Oh, my! Those little girlie grands are just too adorable! I still can't get over the tiny one's head of hair! :) Your tablescape looks wonderful. Your little box is so sweet, I think I need one of those. Your flowers the dishes just all of it. Oh, we have an AC Moore here too. I'm enjoying shopping there. Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeletebe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Awe thanks Sheila. So glad to see you back in the swing of things lady.
DeleteWhat a good buy on that patriotic hanger, Cindy. Your tablescape is beautiful, festive and again, patriotic. My goodness! Your baby grand has grown and what a cute smile! So lucky of you to be with grandkids a lot. Reminds you of me, ha!ha!...Christine
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Christine! We are blessed to be able to be with our grands for sure! YEP, I was quite proud of my Patriotic hanging sign! Thanks for stopping by today! LOVED your tea party with the grands!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE everything!! That sign for $5.00? That is a steal...you hit the jackpot Cindy! We will be doing a BBQ and then heading over to the local park (it is walking distance from our house)to relax and watch the fireworks display. The pups will be home in their crates where they feel safe from the loud noises!! Your baby grandgirl gets cuter by the day :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen. Sounds like you have a fun 4th of July planned.
DeleteYour table is so pretty and perfect for the 4th of July! I won't be decking out much this year as my tableware is packed up. Hope to do a bit of BBQing though. Maybe we'll have corn on the cob and tomatoes, too. You little granddaughter is growing so fast! Enjoy your holiday and stay cool, Cindy!!
ReplyDeleteThanks my friend. Staying cool is a priority! I dislike being hot! LOL!
DeleteWe usually go to our daughter's lake house for the 4th so I don't do a lot of decorating here. yours sure looks cute, tho...
ReplyDeleteThanks BJ.
DeleteBeautiful ideas for the fourth, Cindy! Love those charger plates. I get a kick out of your daughter walking off with your things. I'm interested in the burlap runner. What are the dimensions?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. The burlap runner was given to me by my niece but she bought it at Walmart. Look on the wedding aisle. When she bought them she got some with lace and some without and gave me some of each. I love using them.
DeleteI love your 4th of July tablescape. It is festive and very cheery. I also like how you layered everything. And your granddaughters are gorgeous. What little angels.
ReplyDeleteI am going to Maryland for the 4th of July weekend. Bringing my little puppy too.
Hugs,
Janet
Thanks Janet. I know you will have fun in Maryland.
DeleteLove your tablescape, so pretty and patriotic. Your little gdaughter is growing!! She has a precious smile. I bet her older cousins have her just a little spoiled!!
ReplyDeleteHer older cousins adore her Miss Mary. Yes she does indeed have the sweetest smile. Have a good day!
DeleteHi Cindy, I really enjoyed my visit here. I enjoyed your decorations. I made a patriotic wreath and enjoy my decor as you do. Cute grand babies! I will have 3 of mine tomorrow. We moved to a smaller home and I do miss my formal dining room at times. Happy Summer!

DeleteGood afternoon, sweet Cindy! My, what a pretty tablescape! So festive and pretty for the 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's hard to believe 2016 is almost half over. Just yesterday I told my husband that Christmas is already only 7 months away.
Enjoy the upcoming weekend, dear one. Hugs!
I know Stephanie, it's crazy how fast this year has flown by. A lot of stores already have Fall decor out. Too hot for me to even think about Fall. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteWhat fun, patriotic decor, Cindy! You also got some great buys. I'm thinking that I'd be like your one daughter and snatch that cute shutter, too.
ReplyDeleteThe baby and your older granddaughters are just darling. What a perfect ending quote you've shared with us.
Thanks Kitty. Yes I will curious to see if my shutter is still among my patriotic stash come another year. LOL!
DeleteLove your red and white plates, mixed with your vintage pieces! Too cute!

I saw where you had been hacked Debbie. Going to your new blog!
DeleteWow, you have been busy! Love your patriotic decor. I haven't done one thing this year! We were on vacation a week then at our son's family for a week and I have just gotten home. I agree there is nothing greater than being with your grands.
ReplyDeleteYours are growing. The baby has really grown. She'll have hair down to her waist by age 2.
I'm going to look for those chargers. I like the shape. Hope they still have them. Did you get them this year? I already have some red ones so maybe it will be a good thing if they don't have them. I'm out of storage space. LOL!
Thanks Bonnie. That youngest grandgirl has not lost one ounce of her hair either! I actually bought the chargers last year on sale. So glad I remembered I had them! LOL! I loved the shape too and I already have red ones too but couldn't resist.
DeleteHappy 4th to my absolute favourite American bloggy friend! I always love reading your posts which overflow with love, family and kindness xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Josie and Happy 4th to you my friend!
DeleteYour July Fourth tablescape is perfect! I love everythig you've put together. The most special are the cups that belonged to your grandmother - what a special treat to have them. Your little grand is absolutely precious! I love the shutter piece. You've given me an idea for my vintage trailer. I have a shutter that needs some work and I didn't know what to do with it but a friend gave it to me to make a sign for my trailer. Ah ha! Now I have ideas!
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Thanks so much lady. I sure have been missing you! Glad the shutter gave you an idea. Can't wait to see what you do with it. Hugs to ya!
