{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{Show and Tell}

Aren't the colors just beautiful? I love flowers that have that pinkish coral color to them.

Just a few closeups of my purple and pink Hydrangeas.

 We had a great Friday night and Saturday with these two grandbabies. Friday night they had their singing, piano and guitar recital and then on Saturday.....We kept them busy shucking corn, picking squash, peppers, working outside and inside...and well....I can assure you they slept good that night! They are such good help too!

Look at his face....YEP...think he's just a tad dirty!

My rosemary is looking good and oh it smells so good. Do you see my new friend on the right hand side of the bucket?

 Remember this cute set of mini pans I bought at a yard sale last week?

Well the grandgirl decided to bake up some little cakes using them.

 We decided instead of doing a filling we would do a topping.

 These little mini cakes had my whole house smelling so good.

Then we whipped up a sweet cream sauce to pour over the top.

 She got her candy out to start melting.

 Then she used different candy molds and made a batch of YUMMY chocolate.

Now aren't these too cute to eat?
BUT WE DID!

 Next she poured the sweet cream sauce over the top, added some cool whip and a piece of chocolate candy on top!

 She then put it in the freezer to firm up and allow that sweet cream sauce to saturate through that mini cake and 5 minutes before serving she took it out!

My girl is going to be on CAKE WARS before you know it!

The grands stayed busy all day.
(Yeah I know....we can actually do things instead of sit in front of a television all day)

I didn't go thrifting but I did manage to get these cuties from Walmart for $1 each!
Each of my three girls got one...and of course one for ME!

Found these also for $1 each at good old Walmart.

It was indeed a busy day at Nana's and Papa's house but a GOOD ONE!

 And needless to say I was OVER DELIGHTED when my sweet blogging friend and sister in Christ sent me a package in the mail.

Love, love, love Gooseberry Patch. This cookbook has the best looking recipes and so, so simple!

And just look at these cute measuring spoons.

Debbie Kay is such a blessing to me and as Philippians 1:3 says; "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you" Debbie Kay!

The Lord is so good. He gives us everything we need...including sweet friends.

Pop over and visit Debbie Kay. She is such a delight and sweet gal that you will quickly fall in love with.

Last show and tell for today.............

 Remember when I shared at the beginning of the New Year my WORD to focus on? The Lord has surely given me so much to reflect upon...I could write a book at the things He has been showing me. But one major thing has been to BE STILL...(and you have no clue how hard that is for me)

May you reflect upon all that God is doing for you in your life. Even when you may feel that He is so far away He is at work!

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
