Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
Hey friends, I feel like I have been gone forever from Blog land since I missed last week blogging with you all. But, I have been busy with the family and loving every minute of it.
Which meant that several of us grandmothers got to keep the grandchildren! I had three of the five. Yep, that baby looks like she has a wig on but that hair is tamed to what it normally looks like when she wakes up. My Grandson helped Papa cook breakfast for everyone and my oldest granddaughter who is 13 is such a great help.
Last time this sweet girl stayed with Nana we had a makeup session!
I have several heirlooms of Rosemary and I have cut and cut and used and used. I love the smell! I actually baked a fresh loaf of Rosemary and Lemon bread for a sweet young friend of mine and her family.
Yep, I'd say "It's A Family Life".
My mercy! Now don't you just want to kiss those sweet cheeks?
We spent a fun day at a Aquatic Center which is only a little over an hour drive for us. The kids had a ball.
One side of the park was geared towards the younger children. The other side had swimming pool, a larger slide with tunnel for the older kids and the Lazy River that you can float down.
It's
a small water park but honestly, plenty to do and keeps the kids
entertained. I love it that it is a day trip and it doesn't break the
bank to go! They had things for younger and older children to do. My
favorite was the Lazy River. Nothing like just floating down the river. I
did let the older grandchildren talk me into sliding through a tunnel
to the pool. YEP, done it ONE TIME! Felt like I was having an MRI! Not good for claustrophobic people like me!
So, I decided after that I needed ice cream!
We also celebrated the birthday of my middle daughter, Melissa.
My daughters and I enjoyed a girls night out. So much laughter and of course the food was awesome.
The dessert was... well...I will let you guess if you think it was good or not!
This birthday girl celebrated all weekend. My daughters and their spouses had a triple day date and went paddle boarding and out to eat. They enjoyed it so much and I love it that my daughters and spouses do things together.
This time we had a hair fixing session.
She loves to brush her teeth. I just can't believe she is already 15 months old.
But, I have taken the time to smell the roses...I mean Rosemary!
I have several heirlooms of Rosemary and I have cut and cut and used and used. I love the smell! I actually baked a fresh loaf of Rosemary and Lemon bread for a sweet young friend of mine and her family.
Yep, I'd say "It's A Family Life".

WE MAY NOT HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER....BUT WE HAVE IT ALL!
Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Cindy, that was a delightful read! I love all the happy family photos and the MRI slide at the water park. LOL Have a wonderful day. xo
ReplyDeleteLOL! Me and MRI's don't mix unless drugs are involved!
DeleteCindy, you are such a doll and your family time makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteAwe Stacey, you are so sweet.
DeleteAdorable pictures Cindy. Every one of them. Happy birthday to your Melissa. You girls sure enjoy one another and that is so sweet. I am still laughing at the MRI tunnel. You already know my story on MRI, tunnels and elevators! LOL.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Connie, every time I think about elevators I think about you! LOL!
DeleteIt looks and sounds like you have been having a lot of fun! I do like floating down the Lazy River and I must admit that I was ALSO talked in to riding a huge water slide at Wilderness of the Smokies a couple of Christmases ago...it was QUITE scary! You have some beautiful daughters, Cindy...and those grands are SO adorable! I say that family time is the best time! I do love lavender and I hope to grow some one day when we get settled in TN...that may be a while! Enjoy your week! ♥
ReplyDeleteThe sad part was Debby is the tunnel wasn't that long! I kept thinking, what If I get stuck in this stupid thing! The grands thought it to be quite funny! But at least I done it. ONCE!
DeleteThe family life is the best life! A fun day at the park for me would have been spent on the lazy river, I don't think I could have handled anything else. My girls and their hubbies are close too, I feel very blessed!!
ReplyDeleteIt surely is a blessing to have your children nearby and that they all love one another . I'm grateful .
DeleteWhat great family memories! I'd need ice cream too after a claustraphobic ride! So great to have grand children so near.
ReplyDeletelol! Melanie . ice cream never tasted so good .
DeleteCindy, you have a beautiful family! And I love all your photos! When it is a very hot day, I want to jump under a sprinkler! :)
ReplyDeleteGirl , I do love the sprinkler and my baby pool . So glad you stopped by .
DeleteSo glad you are back and that you have been doing fun stuff! Lots of love going on in this post!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun friend .
DeleteThose girls of yours are beautiful and when they're with their mom, it blesses me so! You all look like a fun loving family; good job in raising those girls, Cindy! Loved the pics of the grand kids! So cute. I can smell the rosemary...we had a bush by the back door years ago. It's fun to cook with too. Hugs and blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteAwe , thank you sweet friend . I love the smell of rosemary . It makes me smile .
DeleteWhat fun family memories, Cindy! I love seeing all those smiling, happy faces. You and your girls are such beauties, and have such a great time together. Yes, I love that your girls and their spouses all get along and enjoy going out. That is a true blessing! Love and hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kitty .fun times for sure . Sometimes those girls of mine wear me out trying to keep up with them but I wouldn't have it any other way .
DeleteIt's a wonderful family life, and girl you are too cute going after that ice cream! Grandkids are the best! We had 3 young boys age 2, 4, and 7 for 3 days while their folks were on vacation. We split the tending time with the other grands. They were so fun, but tuckered us right out!! lol!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Jann, I tell my husband all the time that I'm glad we had our children young . The grands can wear you out no matter how good they are . But oh my! It's a good kind of "wore" out . 😂
DeleteCindy, you were missed last week, but family time is the most important. The aquatic center looks like fun and I am proud of you for trying the tunnel. I am very claustrophobic, so I understand! Your grands are dolls and so are your daughters! You could pass for their sister! I hope you share the rosemary lemon bread recipe or did I miss it! Blessings~
ReplyDeleteThank you Pam. The sad part Pam was the tunnel wasn't long at all! LOL! Nevertheless....Not for me! I will have to share the bread recipe with everyone. It's a basic bread recipe but so versatile. We love it! Thanks for coming by.
DeleteSo awesome what a great relationship all of you have. I can't get over that baby's hair. And, I'm being honest when I say you and your girls look like sisters. 💜
ReplyDeleteDeb, she has had a mess of hair since birth and hasn't loss any. But boy has it lightened up a lot. Thanks for your compliment sweet friend.
DeleteOH FUN.....and that little one is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam .

ReplyDeleteYou are a doll!
Hugs,
Jemma
Cindy you know I can never get enough of that baby girl! That cute little face just warms my heart. I'm glad to see you are having a great time with the kids and your gorgeous daughters! Stay cool where you are, we have a heat wave and jellyfish infestation at the beach right now so I am hiding.
ReplyDeleteMary , I'm petrified of stepping on a jelly fish when st the beach . Good grief girl . That baby girl has all our families hearts . She is the seeetest thing ever .
DeleteLife in the summer is meant to be lived and enjoyed, and I'm so thrilled to see the beautiful pictures of your family enjoying special times together! How wonderful that your three daughters and SIL's enjoy being together, that is such a blessing! And even more that you get to enjoy the grands as they grow through each stage of their lives. Your little 15-mo granddaughter is just a doll, I think she looks a lot like you :) Enjoy the summer... I have been very busy this summer with company and just outdoor activities, and I'm glad for a chance to pop in and see how you are doing :) Hugs!

ReplyDeleteJenna
Jenna, I am blessed to have my children nearby so that means there is always something going on! LOL!
DeleteSweet, sweet pictures. WE just spent five weeks with our daughter and family in norther Mn. It was fun to go from a 19 year old college grand daughter to an 8 year grand daughter and a 16 year old grand son every day. And to see my daughter everyday, eat meals with them, go to the store with her, just hang out, it did my soul good. But, there is always a leaving time and now we are back in California with our son and family...God is good, no matter where we are.
ReplyDeleteThank you Betty . I know you enjoyed your family do much . So glad you got to spend time with them . How wonderful .❤️
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great summer, filled with life and family, enjoy the precious days!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter Melissa!! All the photos are so precious!! I just had ice cream yesterday, so it finally feels like summer:))
Love to you and hugs!!!
Hey Shayndel, Yes it has been a summer filled with fun but oh so hot here too! So glad you enjoyed some ice cream too.
DeleteAren't grandchildren just the best? We have one and one on the way! Your daughters are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteAwe congratulations to you . Yes these grands are the best . Thsnks you Patti .
DeleteThe polka dot sunflower bathing suit is so darn cute. Love the photo of you with your girls.
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you dear lady .
DeleteI've been away too. I counted up and I've been gone 17 days in June and July! Now, that will put you behind! But being with my kids was worth it even though we were not all together at the same time due to distance.
ReplyDeleteLove your posts about all you do as a family. I think of doing posts like that and then don't get them done. Maybe I will soon.
I chuckled at your comment about setting a table outside in this heat. Believe me, on the day I did it the humidity was a 100%. As soon as I stepped out the door my glasses and camera lens fogged up. The table glasses fogged up and even the silverware! It was brutal. The next day was much better but I was afraid my flowers my DIL gave me would not last. What we do!
Have a great weekend, Cindy.
Nothing like family . Girl I can't take this heat no more . Just getting too old . 😂 Glad to see you back . Hugs to you sweet lady .
DeleteYou have the most beautiful family! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun grandma. I admire you for going to the water park. How fun that your grands and your children enjoy spending time with you. That says a lot!
Keep Cool....
Christine , we do have lots of fun together . Never a dull moment 😂
DeleteI have no trouble seeing your blog! This looks like a great family day with all of your grands. That baby and her hair are just too much! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks Heather. I am hoping blogger gets a few things fixed.
DeleteLooks like everyone had a great time but then again, your family always has a great time together!! You are so very lucky and blessed! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
Thanks Debbie.
DeleteLooks like you and your sweet family are enjoying the summer! I enjoyed seeing all the pictures!
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
Katherine
Thank you dear Katherine.
DeleteI'm always late to the party, but...what a FUN post! This just looked like so much fun, all the way through! And yay for rosemary! I also keep it on hand, though I use mine for things other than cooking. I once made rosemary tea...yuck! I can drop a lot of dried herbs into a cup and drink it, but not rosemary! I couldn't even finish it, lol. Happy to see you're enjoying your summer. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you came by girl. NOPE don't think I want any Rosemary tea. But, I do love cooking with it. I am a herb gal and love to just smell the herbs.
DeleteI'm playing catch up here, just in case you hadn't figured that out. After being away from blogging for a month I am in need of seeing what you have been up to. I should have guessed...HAVING FUN WITH FAMILY! I love it that you had a make up session with your 15 month old grandbaby girl! She was looking in that mirror and knew what to do with the brushes! LOVED it...and her hair session was precious! You certainly know how to make your grands feel special. :)
ReplyDeleteDianna, that little gal has taken the hearts of my family . Her cousins and aunts love her so much . She's such s joy . My prayer is that one day when nana isn't here that they can say , nana loved us so .
DeleteI'm sure all that beautiful family of yours is very together by now! I can't wait to see pics you will share with us.
ReplyDeleteYes, family is a blessing and you girls are gorgeous, starting from you, the girls and the tiny ones... such little treasures they are, lol..
Hugs,
