Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I hope that you all had a great 4th of July. We enjoyed our youngest daughter and her family spending the day with us.
Good old fashion hamburgers and hot dogs went on the grill and then we fried potatoes! You just beat good old french fries!
My daughter made this cute dessert.
And she was dressed very patriotic as well as her two kiddos.
Oh I could just eat these girls up!
I didn't decorate too much at all for the 4th but did manage to do a little patriotic tablescape.
This child is the sweetest ever. We call her our Joy baby and a joy she is.
And don't ya just love my patriotic shoes?
We celebrated my middle daughter's birthday too. (Melissa) We had a low country boil and made homemade ice cream. YUM! Water fun, blowing bubbles, eating peaches off the tree, fishing and lots of talking. My bunch does that well....TALK!
Being a mom of three daughters has been a trip and a half. There was never a dull moment with them growing up and since they are grown there has nothing changed about that.
They keep me busy. Sometimes busier than I want to be. Ha! But the truth is....I wouldn't have it any other way. Sisters do indeed make the best friends as all three of my girls are very close. I've always heard that a daughter (s) would one day become a mom's best friend. I doubted that theory several times especially when they were teenagers. And...for some this theory is not true. But, for us...Oh yes! I will always have a best friend as long as I have my girls. So, here's to wishing our middle daughter a very Happy Birthday.
And I will leave you with this meme today as it struck me funny. LORD HAVE MERCY do I ever wish this was true!
Thank you for allowing me to share my family with you. That my friends is the main reason I blog....to share my life.

Hugs and blessings, Cindy

DeleteI love those wedge flip flops! Wonderful pictures and happy birthday to Melissa. I have always thought your girls to be beautiful Cindy and love how close you all are. We decided to have a huge breakfast for everyone on July 4 this year with red, white and blue fruit salad. Everyone was gone by 1 p.m. and I actually watched old movies that afternoon. It was great.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Ooh, a big breakfast sounds nice Connie especially with red, white and blue dessert. And I love sitting around watching movies when I can.

DeleteI love the patriotic sunglasses on your daughter and your funky sandals! How fun to have built-in best friends! I have two daughters and I know what you mean about doubting the friendship during those teen years:-( We are close friends now as are myself and two sisters. That wasn't always great growing up either! Always love seeing your family on your blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann Marie. Glad those teen years are behind me! LOL! But...my prayer life surely grew.
DeleteYou and your girls are just so darn cute, Cindy, and those babies...yes, couldn't we just eat them up??!! I'm so thankful to have a daughter, too, Cindy, and my one DIL is a gem. She loves me like I'm her own Mom, and is so appreciative. Thank you for sharing your fun times with us.

DeleteI only have one daughter and have two nice daughter-in-laws! Cute patriotic shoes. The "littles" dressed alike is a darling idea. That dessert looks similar to the one our granddaughter made for us only it was gluten free! Nancy
ReplyDeleteNancy, I actually forgot I had those little patriotic shoes and found them stashed in my closet so I hurried and got them out so I could wear them at least on July 4. Ha!

ReplyDeleteThank you Kelly. So glad you came by.
DeleteCindy,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by!! You are very lucky that all of your daughters and you have such a good relationship. In some families, that is not the case. My Mother and I have a Love/Hate relationship and there were many times when we were not talking to one another. My sister and i are 10 years apart and have not really ever been close and not we are estranged....
You truly are blessed..
Hugs,
Deb
Awe Deb, you are so right . I know mothers and daughters that rarely speak . I’m so very blessed . Glad you stopped by .
DeleteI'm catching up again - as always. Life has been so busy. Whoever said retirement is a lazy, quiet time must have never been retired! We're starting to do some work and upgrades on our home and property and we've had a bunch of things in between. Love your fourth celebrations. We had a quiet day at home by choice.
