{It's Been A Hot Minute Y'all}

  Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too.  Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway.  We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20.  We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...

{One Project Down, Several More to Go}

I caught my daughter Melissa trying to sneak out of my house recently with my newest Valentine addition. Those gals of mine!!!!

January is halfway over with! WHAT???? But, about the time mid January rolls around I start thinking about doing a little Valentine Decor. But I needed to get my wreaths made to go with my Blessed sign that was gifted to me for Christmas first.

I decided to put a wreath on each side the Blessed sign.

 The grapevine wreaths are simple with burlap, cotton from the good old cotton fields in Georgia and a little sprig of this and a sprig of that.

The cotton is definitely authentic for sure. REAL cotton isn't perfect! LOL!

I can't believe how much cotton I actually threw away! ESPECIALLY when I realized the cost of faux cotton. Dang, I could have sold what I had left huh?

This picture doesn't do the wall hangings justice. The lighting was not to my best interest when I snapped this. But I like how it turned out. Simple but yet fits this space perfect. I am for sure BLESSED and GRATEFUL

Since I can now check that off of my list I can go on to something else. I used to multitask. What has happened to me?????

I am trying to get my Valentine decor on. When it gets about mid January I am ready for some hearts....I wanted to decorate my little corner chair with the drawer. So, I decided to start with What is Love? Yep, John 3:16 pretty much sums up that definition for me.

I will be sharing next week my Valentine Tree. I grabbed a 4 foot white tree, added a few white lights and some decor I had stashed and in the corner chair it went. I am just loving that corner chair.

Well of course I have to get the grands a little Valentine's gift to go under the tree....One wrapped and 5 more to go.

After the Valentine tree project I will get my V-Day tablescape together. Table runner is hemmed and ready to go. I might be slow but at least I am moving. LOL!

Speaking of the LOVE month approaching us. I must share a little LOVE that brightened my day and melted my heart.

My oldest daughter has taught children in our AWANA program for many, many years at our church on Wednesday nights. Then some years back she went from small children to Youth on Wednesday nights. She and my soninlaw also teach youth in Sunday School. However, this year on Wednesday nights she decided go into a ladies bible study for this season. All I can say is there isn't nothing like walking into the room to find sitting on the podium where I am about to teach from, a gift with a note from your daughter! The gift was sweet but... the PRAYERS..........

Happy week to you all and remember..........

    I try and do the very same thing when I'm visiting my dear Stephanie, she has some gorgeous tea cups that I try and run off with, but I'm usually caught red handed by my precious grandson.
    He's a good boy to look after his dear mama's treasures.

    I too enjoy your chair with each and every reason you find a fancy to decorate it.
    Your wall with the wreaths turned out beautifully.

    Now that love note...that was absolutely precious!!

  6. Cindy, I love your sign with the wreaths! The grouping turned out so pretty! I have some good ol' Alabama cotton riding around in my trunk. I stopped and picked it myself last year...honey, there is no amount of money you could pay me to pick that stuff, so glad they have machines to harvest those crops! What a beautiful note from your daughter...so loving and thoughtful...I know you are proud! Hope your week is off to a great start! Love and hugs!

Now I am really looking forward to next week to see how that chair in the kitchen is decorated. You do know how to keep us coming back for more. :) And what a special blessing to find that sweet gift...and note (the sweetest part) and prayers from your daughter. I am blessed by the relationship that you have with your girls, Cindy. Have a wonderful remainder to your week! xx

  14. Hi Cindy, I took a chance to see if you posted again and I was right! Love your tree! I keep up a tree all year that I decorate seasonally. That tree is in winter mode right now with pine cones, snowmen and snowflakes. Goes with the mantle decor. I will change over in Feb. Love the idea of wrapping up a gift and putting it under the tree. I just picked up a few things for the girls. When you tag me, can you leave your blog url. It makes it easy. I just updated my blog too with lots of pictures. Have a great week. Hugs

Hiding the Ugly Hot Water Heater

 I shared that I wanted to hide my ugly hot water heater in my laundry room with you a few weeks ago. It just stuck out like a sore thumb. But after all it is a hot water heater right? So my man took a piece of wood (not real wood) but it worked and built a frame for me. So now to see if it would fit and it did. I painted it white and did not like the texture it had even after two coats of white. (rule of thumb...you get what you pay for and the wood was cheap) But I wasn't going to let it whip me!  Found some contact paper at Walmart in the gray and white. Covered the front with the contact paper and loved the look. The top was covered with a piece of painted wood as well and worked perfect to place this on top... And this.... Added a clothes basket in the corner and here was the top.... Yep, no longer an eye sore to me! Went perfect with my gray walls and gray and white floor. Remember the wood tray I bought at a...

{SON-Flowers}

Don't you just love sunflowers? When I think about sunflowers I think of two things. My motherinlove who loved sunflowers and Fall. I came across a devotional written by Julia Bettencourt on sunflowers and thought it so appropriate for today as I wanted to share my sunflowers with you. Here's a few lessons we can learn from the sunflower.    Sunflowers Track The Sun.   Most plants are attracted to light but the flowering head of the sunflower actually tracks the sun following it's path and moving toward where it is in the sky all during the day. I read somewhere that sunflowers track the sun when they are in bud stage. Isn't that how it usually goes for us as Christians? When we first come to know the Lord, we get excited about knowing all about Him and living for Him, but after awhile we sometimes grow a little preoccupied with other things and get our eyes off of the Lord.   Wouldn't it be great if as a Christian we'd track th...
