Well, it's not HOT in my neck of the woods in temperature (not today anyway) but it's sure been a HOT minute since I last posted. For that I am so sorry but it seems my life has been consumed with doctor appointments, tests, and MORE tests, biopsies, surgery and so much more. One day at a time sweet Jesus is all that any of us can ask for. Wanted to pop in on this beautiful Sunday afternoon to share a little about what I've been up too. Marty and I enjoyed a weekend at the beach before I had breast cancer surgery and took advantage of the time I had in between so many doctor appointments and testing. It was sure a good little getaway. We celebrated our 47th wedding anniversary in September. WOW! Just babies! LOL! We were high school sweethearts. Started dating at age 16. Married at age 18 and started a family at age 20. We celebrated Marty's birthday in October. He says that he's feeling his age these days. LOL! He still works 4 days a week and has a long commu...
I caught my daughter Melissa trying to sneak out of my house recently with my newest Valentine addition. Those gals of mine!!!!
January is halfway over with! WHAT???? But, about the time mid January rolls around I start thinking about doing a little Valentine Decor. But I needed to get my wreaths made to go with my Blessed sign that was gifted to me for Christmas first.
I decided to put a wreath on each side the Blessed sign.
The grapevine wreaths are simple with burlap, cotton from the good old cotton fields in Georgia and a little sprig of this and a sprig of that.
The cotton is definitely authentic for sure. REAL cotton isn't perfect! LOL!
I can't believe how much cotton I actually threw away! ESPECIALLY when I realized the cost of faux cotton. Dang, I could have sold what I had left huh?
This picture doesn't do the wall hangings justice. The lighting was not to my best interest when I snapped this. But I like how it turned out. Simple but yet fits this space perfect. I am for sure BLESSED and GRATEFUL.

Since I can now check that off of my list I can go on to something else. I used to multitask. What has happened to me?????

I am trying to get my Valentine decor on. When it gets about mid January I am ready for some hearts....I wanted to decorate my little corner chair with the drawer. So, I decided to start with What is Love? Yep, John 3:16 pretty much sums up that definition for me.
I will be sharing next week my Valentine Tree. I grabbed a 4 foot white tree, added a few white lights and some decor I had stashed and in the corner chair it went. I am just loving that corner chair.
Well of course I have to get the grands a little Valentine's gift to go under the tree....One wrapped and 5 more to go.

After the Valentine tree project I will get my V-Day tablescape together. Table runner is hemmed and ready to go. I might be slow but at least I am moving. LOL!
Speaking of the LOVE month approaching us. I must share a little LOVE that brightened my day and melted my heart.
My oldest daughter has taught children in our AWANA program for many, many years at our church on Wednesday nights. Then some years back she went from small children to Youth on Wednesday nights. She and my soninlaw also teach youth in Sunday School. However, this year on Wednesday nights she decided go into a ladies bible study for this season. All I can say is there isn't nothing like walking into the room to find sitting on the podium where I am about to teach from, a gift with a note from your daughter! The gift was sweet but... the PRAYERS..........
Happy week to you all and remember..........

Hugs and blessings, Cindy
Your wreaths turned out beautifully, Cindy, and look perfect beside your Blessed sign. I'm looking forward to seeing you Valentine tree all decked out, too. The sweet prayer from your daughter just melted my heart...sigh! What a loving daughter you have. I hope you have a love-filled week. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThanks Kitty. I am excited about having a tree again! You know how I miss my lights! LOL!
DeleteYour daughter knows just how to give love! Just like her mama.
ReplyDeleteValentine tree? What a sweet idea for your grandchildren (and any other special person).
Yes, you are getting a lot done and sharing with us, too!
Well, I am quite sure the grandbabies will be more interested in what little gift nana has for them for Valentine's day but I hope they will enjoy seeing the tree each Sunday as we share dinner together.
DeleteI love the wreaths with the sign. Lady, fake cotton is not cheap for sure! Yes, you could have sold it. Can't wait to see your v-day tree. What a blessing for you I am sure when you saw the little gift and the written words from your daughter. Nothing like your children praying for you.
ReplyDeleteConnie Royals
Thanks Connie. I am blessed for sure and I do not take it for granite. I know the cost of faux cotton is ridiculous. Unless you have a coupon that is! LOL!
DeleteHey Cindy ...Your wreaths are looking good girl... and I’m really excited about the idea of a valentine tree...since I love hearts...OMG what a precious gifts from your little “ Kristy and your daughter ...You are truly blessed....xoxox
ReplyDeleteThanks Zaa. I am just glad to have that wall done! FINALLY! LOL!
DeleteHaha! I had to chuckle at your daughter trying to sneak off with something of yours. :-)
ReplyDeleteI try and do the very same thing when I'm visiting my dear Stephanie, she has some gorgeous tea cups that I try and run off with, but I'm usually caught red handed by my precious grandson.
He's a good boy to look after his dear mama's treasures.
I too enjoy your chair with each and every reason you find a fancy to decorate it.
Your wall with the wreaths turned out beautifully.
Now that love note...that was absolutely precious!!
You are one blessed child of God.
Have a terrific day~
My girls love to get my STUFF! I felt bad about not letting Melissa have it till I turned around and went bought her something for her Valentine Hot chocolate bar! LOL! Yes, nothing like knowing that your children will pray for their mama.
DeleteCindy, I love your sign with the wreaths! The grouping turned out so pretty! I have some good ol' Alabama cotton riding around in my trunk. I stopped and picked it myself last year...honey, there is no amount of money you could pay me to pick that stuff, so glad they have machines to harvest those crops! What a beautiful note from your daughter...so loving and thoughtful...I know you are proud! Hope your week is off to a great start! Love and hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am with you on picking that cotton! NOPE...I heard one too many stories from my granny on the cotton picking days. But I have done others things in my life such as picked tobacco and chicken eggs up. You do what you have too but praise the Lord for technology!
DeleteMy goodness, Sweet Lady, you certainly know how to decorate. I love those wreaths you created and they look lovely with the print you were given for Christmas. Now I am really looking forward to next week to see how that chair in the kitchen is decorated. You do know how to keep us coming back for more. :) And what a special blessing to find that sweet gift...and note (the sweetest part) and prayers from your daughter. I am blessed by the relationship that you have with your girls, Cindy. Have a wonderful remainder to your week! xx
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you sweet friend. I love the sign too and was thrilled as I knew the perfect spot for it. I hope to show off my little tree next week. Yes, the little gift was precious but those prayers...YES.....
DeleteThe wreaths look great, Cindy! Your cute Valentine decor made me smile--I can see why one of your daughters tried to take one home with her. HA!
ReplyDeleteMy Valentine decor is pretty much limited to my teawares. My heart-shaped cups and saucers and teapot will come out in early February!
Margie , my daughters tries to get all my stuff !😂 oh i have a heart stayed yea cup and saucer too . I’ll have to share it ❤️

DeleteOh, my, how sweet of your daughter. I'm sure I would have been a blubbering mess after reading that note. Sounds as though you and your husband have some girls to be mighty proud of. Happy week Cindy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lea . We do have done great girls ❤️❤️❤️
DeleteWhat a precious note, sniff! A Valentine tree sounds so adorable and sweet! You are so clever! Love your wreaths, they are so pretty! The cotton is the best, isn’t it!

Nancy
So glad you stopped by Nancy . It’s been a blessing to see your posting again . Thank you for your kind words ❤️
DeleteCindy, your wreaths look beautiful on either side of your sign. I can’t wait to see your Valentine tree sweet lady!
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings, Pam
Thanks Pam . Hoping to get my little tree completed as I’ve redone the top several times .😂 it’s such a small tree and flimsy but it will be cute .
DeletePrecious and Love - filled post!! Love your creativity, and the note from your daughter, she is soooo sweet!! Surely love is in the air!! Blessings and a New Year hello from your friend Shayndel!! ♡
ReplyDeleteHey lady , good to hear from you and thank you for your sweet words . Hope your New Year is going well .
DeleteHi Cindy, I took a chance to see if you posted again and I was right! Love your tree! I keep up a tree all year that I decorate seasonally. That tree is in winter mode right now with pine cones, snowmen and snowflakes. Goes with the mantle decor. I will change over in Feb. Love the idea of wrapping up a gift and putting it under the tree. I just picked up a few things for the girls. When you tag me, can you leave your blog url. It makes it easy. I just updated my blog too with lots of pictures. Have a great week. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHey Susan , i love your mantle . It is adorable . I have another friend that also does seasonal trees and holiday trees and she really goes all out . I’ll be visiting you to see your pictures . 😊
DeleteI love "I might be slow but at least I am moving"! That's me! I have to take so many breaks when doing something that I get 1/4 done in more time. Ah, such is life in the 60's. Your projects are all so sweet (that tree!) and so is your daughter. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteLol ! It takes me forever Ann Marie to do things too . Well at least we are moving !😂
DeleteAll your projects are so cute and they make me think I should bring out my hearts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol . I need done of your dried roses !😊❤️
DeleteGee, I wish I was as ambitious as you! You have been so busy with all this crafting you've been doing...and I LOVE the wreaths! They are a perfect additions to your sign...and that little Valentine tree is adorable! Since it looks like we might be staying put for a while, I really MUST get my office/project room back in order...right now it is stacked high with boxes! Your girl certainly knows how to bless her mama. I can't imagine why....♥♥♥!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I’m just slow . Lol ! Finished my v-day tree . Actually i was through and didn’t like a few things so redone it .😂 thinking and praying for you daily .🙏🏻
DeleteWow...you have been working to get your heart on for V day! Love the grapevine wreathes. I was driving back to TN from a wedding I photographed in Mississippi many years ago when I stopped on a back road at a cotton field. I did do the no, no and grabbed a piece. Lays on a shelve in the living room.
ReplyDeleteSneaky snak huh? 😂 cotton so pretty in the field though . I had a mess to be honest . Made the mistake of drying it in bag in low light and wrll , it stick together and i had s ness . Yep, that’s why the majority went to trash like .
DeleteOh, Cindy! You always make my whole day when I see a post from you! Everything about your sweet spirit just blesses me and warms my heart. I LOVE your new wreaths and the Valentine's tree sounds amazing. I think it is so neat that you put gifts under it for your sweet grands. What a thoughtful, neat thing to do for them and to help them not miss Christmas so much! And, your sweet daughter! What a precious note that was from her...that just melted me. You are a very blessed woman of God who is just a shining light to this old world. I love and appreciate you so much, sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteAwe thank you Cheryl . You are precious . Well I’m one of those nana’s that thinks they need a little something fkrvevery holiday .😂 it’s not much but i do love giving .
DeleteOooh...what's your favorite color of lipstick from Revlon Colorstay? I'll have to get to Walgreens! I love that sign too...I would have tried to sneak off with it myself. I haven't started decorating for Valentine's Day yet. Maybe next weekend. You're inspiring me and I can't wait to see your VDay tree. That was so sweet from your daughter!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy different colors but o navigate towards the plums . My latest color is #025 . Plum . lol .yes that was sweet of my girl . Made my night . ❤️
DeleteI wanted to do a Valentine's tree this year but haven't gotten a tree yet! I love the red and black heart with what is love on it. How precious is that note from your daughter! What a blessing. I am wondering what you buy for gifts for your granddaughters for Valentine's Day. All I have done so far is bring out two Heart table runners that I have made. Nancy
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy. Worked on my table a bit yesterday and finished my tree. It is small but perfect for my chair in the corner and sits inside the little drawer. Can't wait to show you next week. Yes, it was indeed a blessing for this mama to find a note from my daughter praying for me. I will take that kind of good stuff any day.
DeleteI love your wreaths! They work perfectly with your new sign. Our son-in-law brought us some cotton a few years ago on one o his trips home. I’m still using it, the stems are just getting a bit brittle, though. 😊. Blessings to you, dear Cindy! Jack is keeping me jumping these days! Z
ReplyDeleteZenda, that cotton looked bad when I first started messing with it. No doubt it was the REAL stuff cause FAUX does seem to look prettier. But I was too cheap to buy the FAUX. I needed a new tube of lipstick! LOL!!!! I adore the last picture you posted on FB of little Jack. He is such a cutie.
DeleteGood morning, sweet friend! Your wreaths are simply lovely and they look perfect by your sign. And oh, I just love your Valentine's Day tree {{smiles}} I almost left my silver tinsel trees up with pink ornaments, but alas, I took them down. What a fun idea to put V-Day gifts underneath the tree...I will have to remember that for next year.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a joy to visit you. Have a most blessed day! Love and hugs
Thank you Stephanie. Silver with pink sounds so pretty! I hated to take down my Christmas tree this year! Thanks so much for your sweet words. You are always so kind. Hugs to you!
DeleteYour twin wreaths are wonderful Cindy, I love to use cotton in decor and arrangements but I only have faux cotton, how cool to have the real thing. I have often been tempted to stop by the side of the road and grab some cotton, but I've never had the nerve :) All your valentine things are so cute! Yes time to get some Valentine gifts!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna. I finished my little tree and it turned out cute. Went with red, silver and golds. Reminded me of Christmas again in which I miss my Christmas tree!!! But I have added some black to my decor this year. Sounds gloomy but I love how it all came together. Thanks for stopping by to visit.
DeleteValentine’s Day doesn’t get much attention from me these days, but your post reminded me that it’s not all about me and that others do appreciate and enjoy the day. Besides, it is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of God. I really liked your burlap, cotton, grapevine wreaths.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee . Your sweet words mean so much .
DeleteLove your wreaths! All of your decor is beautiful Cindy.:)))))))
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend ❤️❤️❤️
